Abstract: A tray is provided for positioning objects for digital analysis wherein the objects have two ends defining a length, two edges defining a width and two side surfaces defining a thickness, wherein the tray includes a support surface defined in a plane and having at least one edge pocket adapted to position an object with one of the two edges facing upward for obtaining an image depicting thickness and length of the object, and having at least one side pocket adapted to position an object with one of the two side surfaces facing upward for obtaining an image depicting width and length of the object.
Abstract: A marking system includes a fixture having a base and means for receiving a pair of jaws in an installed condition. The fixture includes means for articulating the installed jaws relative to the base with at least first and second rotational degrees of freedom. A pair of the jaws includes a first jaw having a surface portion generally concave and complementary to a suction side portion of an airfoil of a first turbine engine element. A second jaw has a surface portion generally convex and complementary to a pressure side portion of the airfoil.
Abstract: A gas detector device comprises at least a VCSEL source (34, 36) and at least a light sensor (54, 56) for detecting a light beam (50, 52) having passed through a sample chamber (48) containing a given gas to be detected. The sensor is a photodiode in a first embodiment and its detection signal is time derivated by an electronic derivator (64) and then provided to two lock-in amplifiers (84, 86) in order to generate a F-detection and a 2F-detection, F being the frequency of a wavelength modulation of the source, and thus to provide two corresponding measuring signals the division of which gives a precise value of the gas concentration. In a second embodiment, the source is a pyroelectric sensor which directly provides a detection signal proportional to the time derivate of the light beam incident on this sensor. In this last case, the electronic derivator is thus eliminated.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a dynamic update cube and hybrid query search method for range-sum queries. The present invention relates to a hybrid query search method, which provides a precise answer or an approximate answer with respect to On-Line Analytic Processing (OLAP) queries by using a delta (?)-tree, which has a multidimensional index structure and a prefix-sum cube, so as to effectively support range-sum queries widely used in opinion decisions in enterprises. In the dynamic update cube and hybrid query search method for range-sum queries, a prefixed-sum cube is dense and the dynamic update cube is sparse, such that whenever a data cube changes, the prefixed sum cube is not directly updated and instead, the changes of the data cube are stored in a ?-Tree and the ?-Tree is managed.

Abstract: A process for thermochemical conversion of heavy oil and petroleum coke to fluid fuels includes the steps of: providing a fossil fuel selected from the group consisting of heavy oil, petroleum coke and mixtures thereof; and exposing the fossil fuel to an external source of concentrated radiation so as to increase the temperature of the fossil fuel, supply high-temperature heat required for the desired endothermic conversion process, and convert the fossil fuel to a product selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, gaseous hydrocarbons and mixtures thereof.

Abstract: An integrated system for monitoring a deployed product on a movable platform, gathering data about the deployed product, and disseminating the data about the deployed product is disclosed. The system includes a server located on the movable platform capable of communication with the server from a remote location. The server communicates with a source of data about the deployed product. The system further includes a portal onto which data gathered by the server may be downloaded and with which one can upload information to the server. The system includes a dual architecture card which may be mounted in an electronic controller of the deployed product. The dual architecture card may include a closed architecture section executing proprietary software, and an open architecture receiving processed data from the closed architecture section through a secured connection. One or both of the closed architecture section and closed architecture section may include a microserver.

Abstract: A tool for disintegrating coke has a housing attached to a drill stem in operation, at least one nozzle for cutting and one nozzle for drilling of coke, and at least one valve for closing and opening the nozzles, wherein the tool is adapted to have two different operating states and wherein the at least one valve closes off the cutting nozzles in the drilling operating state, while the drilling nozzles are closed off by the at least one valve in the cutting operating state, and wherein the housing, the valve and the nozzles are adapted so that water may flow unhindered from the drill stem through the housing and the valve and through the nozzles not closed off by the valve, wherein, the nozzles to be closed, for each chosen operating state, are closed off by the balls of a ball valve. An arrangement for operating the valve is arranged above the nozzles.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a system capable of preventing an increase in load even if the amount of data increases. Upon receipt of a retrieval request, a main control part specifies, from a first customer table, row numbers adapted to the retrieval request. Then the main control part determines the range of data to be retrieved in a second customer table according to predetermined computational logic from the row numbers specified, the number of rows capable of being recorded in the first customer table for each customer, and the number of rows capable of being recorded in the second customer table for each customer.
Abstract: A DC-DC converter is provided which comprises an inductance element 10 having a plurality of in-phase windings NB, NA wound around a common magnetic core and connected to a load 5; a normal power source 16 for generating a reference voltage; a comparator 18 for comparing a voltage produced across winding NA with reference voltage VR of normal power souce 16 to produce an error signal. As a same electric current IO flows through the windings NB, NA of inductance element 10 in the opposite directions to each other to produce in magnetic core of inductance element 10 opposed magnetic fluxes which countervail each other and any kind of noise such as ripple and spike noises causing voltage fluctuation.
