Patent number: 7461644Abstract: A method for controlling a dethrottled internal combustion engine, which has a shared fresh gas line which supplies fresh gas to fresh gas pipes, which in turn supply fresh gas to each cylinder. The engine has at least one intake valve per cylinder, a clocked valve per fresh gas pipe for opening and closing the gas pipe and a fuel injector for each cylinder, for metered addition of fuel. The chronological location of the injection time of the fuel is adjusted for the respective cylinder as a function of a point in time of a change in the switch position of the respective clocked valve, to improve the emission values of the engine. In addition, the clocked valves are controlled so that the metered addition of fresh gas is accomplished for the respective cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2007Date of Patent: December 9, 2008Assignee: MAHLE International GmbHInventors: Alfred Elsässer, Jörg Rückauf

Patent number: 7458453Abstract: The invention relates to a clutch, particularly a multi-disk clutch, of an, in particular, manual transmission for, in particular, vehicles having a spring force of a spring device, said spring force influencing the adjusting force, which is produced in a power source and which serves to actuate the clutch. This clutch should be able to operated while maintaining predetermined closing and/opening times that are as precise as possible. In addition, the closing and/or opening times should be independent of possible changes in properties of the spring device. To this end, a clutch of the aforementioned type is characterized in that the spring device (3) and/or at least one of its thrust bearings is provided with a sensor (4), which detects solid body changes and which serves to determine the spring force exerted by the spring device (3), and a device for transmitting the determined measured values for controlling and/or regulating the adjusting power source.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2004Date of Patent: December 2, 2008Assignee: Christian Bauer GmbH + Co.Inventors: Lothar Brückner, August Kästner

Patent number: 7458880Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for grinding of cam profiles on a camshaft (1), having an inner shaft (5) and an outer shaft (4) arranged coaxially one inside the other and mounted to rotate with respect to one another. The camshaft (1) additionally has first and second cams (2, 3) that can rotate with respect to one another over a limited circumferential angle about the camshaft axis (6), the first cams (2) of which are fixedly connected to the inner shaft (5) and the second cams (3) of which are fixedly connected to the outer shaft (4). It is essential to this invention that during and/or after the grinding operation a fluid is forced under pressure into the outer shaft (4), thereby preventing penetration of grinding dust into the interspace (8) between the first cams (2) and the outer shaft (4) or flushing out any grinding dust that has already penetrated.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2007Date of Patent: December 2, 2008Assignee: MAHLE International GmbHInventors: Oliver Fritz, Rolf Kirschner, Roland Schacherer, Falk Schneider
