  • Patent number: 7434434
Abstract: A method is described for producing a cylindrical hollow body from a blank, with the workpiece being opened in the core region by successive swaging which is angularly offset against each other about the axis of the workpiece and being simultaneously pushed onto a piercing mandrel. In order to improve the piercing it is proposed that the workpiece is pressed during the swaging with a predeterminable axial force against the piercing mandrel which can be advanced against the workpiece against this axial force, which piercing mandrel is moved back to its initial position synchronous with the axial feed of the workpiece between the successive swaging steps.

  • Patent number: 7430815
Abstract: In a sensing device for detecting the distance of a vehicle or work device from structures that can be sensed mechanically, in particular plant stands, plant rows, soil structures, ploughing furrows or the like, with a rod-shaped, resilient sensing feeler which has a freely movable sensing end and at a distance therefrom is fixed rigidly to a housing, and an electrical measuring system which detects a change in location of the sensing end in respect of the holder and generates a measuring signal dependent on the change in location, the sensing feeler has at a distance from its fixing location a permanent magnet whose magnetic field is detected by a field-sensitive sensor with a fixed location in respect of the fixing location of the sensing feeler, which sensor generates an electrical signal dependent on the distance between the permanent magnet and the sensor.

  • Patent number: 7432856
Abstract: A signal simulation device for testing and developing radio receivers adapted to orientate antenna beams to different radio transmitters and to simultaneously suppress interference signals, comprises an antenna array, a signal generator generating reproducible digital signals in the complex baseband, and a digital matrix processor combined and synchronized with the signal generator. The processor has input signals generated by the signal generator and has output signals that form received signals of the antenna array. The input signals of the matrix processor are phase shifted according to a direction of incidence and to relative positions of the elements within the antenna array of the radio receiver, and are combined and supplied to outputs of the matrix processor. Amplitude and phase shift are simulated by weighting of the input signals from the signal generator, the weighting coefficients being calculated on a control computer and input into the matrix processor via an interface.

  • Patent number: 7431305
Abstract: The invention relates to an oil scraper ring groove ring arrangement for pistons of internal combustion engines. The inventive arrangement comprises a disk that is provided with parallel flanks and a bearing surface having an asymmetrical crowned form with a vertex line extended over the periphery of the disc, with the disk being arranged in a ring groove of the piston with a ring groove side opposing the piston head and a ring groove side facing the piston head. The aim of the invention is to achieve an improved oil scraping action compared to that of prior art, while reducing the friction and the abrasion in such a way that it is radially outwardly inclined to the outer diameter of the piston, the bearing surface of the disk being embodied in such a way that it corresponds to an almost worn end contour in the started engine state, and, when the oil scraper ring is mounted in the piston, the vertex line of the bearing surface is oriented in the direction of the ring groove side opposing the piston head.

  • Patent number: 7433562
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of dividing the power of an input electromagnetic signal into two equal-power signals with a relative phase difference of 180° between them and an equal propagation delay. The inventive method makes use of a photonic crystal coupler comprising two parallel guides which are disposed close to one another and which are based on coupled cavities. The method consists in exciting the odd mode of the coupler which, owing to the symmetry thereof, ensures that the field maxima coincide in one guide with the minima in the adjacent guide, thereby producing a relative phase difference of 180°. The two output signals are obtained through the spatial separation of the guides forming the coupler, making use of the property possessed by guides in photonic crystals for high transmission efficiency through very tight curves. In this way, the size of the structure can be reduced considerably. The inventive method can be used for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional photonic crystals.

  • Patent number: 7431602
Abstract: An electrical connector device can be formed to be substantially fluid tight. This device can comprise a body having teeth and an optional insert having two sides with at least two sets of teeth wherein a first set of teeth is disposed on a first side of the insert, and a second set of teeth are disposed on a second side of the insert. The first set of teeth are for mating with the teeth on the body to form a substantially sealed connection between the insert and the body. There can also be a sealing nut for securing over the insert and the body, wherein the sealing nut includes a set of teeth wherein when the sealing nut is screwed down onto the body, the set of teeth on the sealing nut mate with the second set of teeth on the insert to form a substantially sealed connection between the sealing nut and the insert. The spacer then keeps each of these soldered wires separate from each other.

  • Patent number: 7431790
Abstract: The laser beam (204) violates the foil layer (203) in an upper part region (203b) whereas this remains intact in a lower part region (203a). During the production of lines of weakening by laser action the degree of foil weakening can be controlled substantially more accurately than in conventional punching and cutting processes to produce lines of weakening. The composite foil (201) is sufficiently tear-resistant during application that it can be dispensed without any problem onto an object to be stuck without tears or any risk of destruction. As soon as the adhesive (202) develops its effect however, the foil structure can no longer be removed without any residue: the violation of the foil layer (203) has the effect that the self-adhesive composite tears off uncontrollably without fail during a manipulation attempt. This thus ensures extremely high security of the foil structure (201) or of a label formed therefrom against undesirable manipulation.
