Abstract: A turbomachine has at least one rotor disk that is attached at an overhung end of a mounted first shaft, and an electric rotor of an electric machine that is connected with the end of the first shaft that lies opposite the rotor disk, by way of a coupling. The electric rotor is arranged between the first shaft and a second shaft, mounted so as to rotate, which is oriented in alignment with the first shaft, and is also connected with the electric rotor by way of a coupling. The electric rotor is arranged between the couplings as a coupling intermediate piece, without any mounting of its own, and has coupling elements that work together with coupling elements on the shaft ends, without radial play.
Abstract: The invention relates to a water-based biodegradable and non-toxic functional fluid for mechanical drives, preferably for use in steam engines. The object of providing such functional fluids for use in mechanical drives, particularly for the hydrodynamic lubrication of plain bearings, preferably for crankshafts of superheated steam engines, having customary bearing play which is not overly precise, is achieved. It should be capable of being used in closed power plant systems also at sump temperatures higher than 120° C., e.g. in the crankcase under a crank shaft, and should be water-based or water-dilutable. According to the invention, this is achieved by addition of a low percentage of polyaspartic acid to water or to water/glycol mixtures, preferably polyaspartic acid having a molar mass of from greater than 1,000 to 10,000 g/mol being used.

Abstract: In a connector (1) to be connected to a circuit board (5), a signal contact (3) is disposed between first and second ground contacts (4) and held by an insulator (2) together with the first and the second ground contacts. Each of the signal contact, the first ground contact, and the second ground contact has a terminal portion to be connected to the circuit board. The first ground contact has an extended portion extending from the terminal portion thereof towards the second ground contact. The first and the second ground contacts are cooperated with each other to substantially surround the terminal portion of the signal contact with using the extended portion.

Abstract: For the purpose of fixing a binding unit (1) to a snowboard (4), this binding unit (1) is provided with a retaining disc (12), which is substantially circular as seen in plan view, for a base plate (11) of relatively large surface area. Mounted on this base plate (11), either directly or indirectly, are coupling parts to provide a connection to a snowboard shoe. Teeth (49, 51) are provided between the base plate (11) and the retaining disc (12) inserted therein through a central orifice (15). The teeth (49, 51) securely fix selectively adjustable and fixable angular positions between the retaining disc (12) and the base plate (11). At least one slide element (24, 25) is provided on the retaining disc (12) and is displaceable between an extracted position (26), in which it spans or overlaps a transition region (28) between the retaining disc (12) and the base plate (11), and an inserted position, in which the slide element (24, 25) does not span or overlap this transition region (28).
Abstract: In order to provide a relining for prosthesis and a process for the manufacturing thereof with improving the performance of the relining and the application-technical characteristics of the individual components as compared with the state of the art, it is proposed to prepare the relining from a one-component relining adhesive, a two-component relining silicone and optionally a two-component sealing lacquer.
Abstract: A fastener comprises an anchor and a central pin. The anchor has a top plate to which a central leg is connected. At the free end of the central leg are two anchor arms that extend up and outward from the free end, forming an arrowhead shape. The anchor arms are flexible and can flex inward as the anchor is placed through a hole in an item to be fastened. Connected to the top surface of the top plate is a push pin. Depressing the push pin breaks the connection areas to create a two-piece anchor from the single part. The push pin comprises a push button and a pin connected to the underside of the push button. The pin consists of a vertical post having a channel therein for accommodating the central leg of the anchor. Pushing the push button downward causes the anchor arms to be pushed outward and to anchor the fastener into the items to be fastened.
Abstract: A method for controlling the edges (7, 7?) of a foil strip guided in a shaping funnel of a device producing tubular bodies from the foil strip by an overlapping weld seam using a guide wedge, the strip being then welded. According to the invention, after welding, the method consists in using a linear infrared sensor for measuring and evaluating a temperature profile perpendicular to the overlapping weld seam. In case of variation relative to the specific real profile, a signal is automatically transmitted to rotate the shaping funnel with the guide wedge, the welding being produced by the high frequency (HF) and the temperature profile being measured directly after welding.
Abstract: A reception antenna arrangement for motor vehicles for the GHz frequency range that is formed as a combined system for the reception of circularly polarized waves and/or vertically polarized waves by a plurality of dipole antennas. Their length is not greater than ¾ of the wavelength. To form a diversity function, at least one switching or reversing device (2) is provided so that at least two signals that are different in terms of diversity and received from the dipole antennas are alternatively supplied to at least one antenna connection point for diversity reception so that one or several more favorable reception signals can be selected and provided to the antenna amplifiers.
Abstract: An apparatus for processing, constriction, simultaneous closure and severance of a strip of plastic-Like material, in particular a multilayer extruded strip, at specified intervals, and for simultaneous closure of a casing, comprises a tool having two tool parts, each part consisting of plurality of segments which move within themselves. At least one of the tool parts consists of two sections that are separable from each other between closed and open positions and each of which contains some of the segments.
Abstract: A device for conveying piece goods. The device comprises a sorting system for sorting the piece goods. The successively arranged conveying systems are guided with this device along a conveying line and can be driven by at least one driving means that engages a driving belt. In a first embodiment, there is a driving belt on the driving side and a driving belt on the driven side which each comprise a rubber chain comprising a toothed profile. The toothed profiles of both rubber chains are in a substantially similar form. The device can also have a driving belt that is clamped in a fixed manner between the clamping jaws of the rigid clamping profiles. These clamping jaws extend at least substantially over the entire length of respective conveying system or sorting system. Furthermore, the non-clamped length of driving belt between the successively disposed conveying systems is much shorter than the length of the clamping profiles.
Abstract: A fixation device for internally or externally fixing fractures comprising at least one nitinol wire having an S-shaped section and two ends wherein each of said two ends forms a hook for hooking into a bone section of a fractured bone. This device can be made from nitinol which has a transformation temperature between 25° C. and 35° C. In addition, this device can have a diameter between 0.6 mm and 5 mm. The device can be inserted using the following process which starts by cooling the wire below a transfer temperature such that the nitinol wire forms in a martensite state. Next, the nitinol wire is inserted into a interphalangeal bone underneath a patients skin. Next, the nitinol wire to heats up inside a patients body above the transfer temperature. Finally, the wire transforms wire from a martensite state to an austenite state wherein when the nitinol wire elongates in a longitudinal direction to generate a distraction force.
