    Abstract: A fuel injection system having a common rail pressure reservoir filled with high-pressure fuel and having a dual-fuel injector for a bi-fluid injection of fuel and an additive fluid into an internal combustion engine. The system includes a first 2/2-way valve in the injection line between the common rail pressure reservoir and a pressure chamber encompassing the injector needle of the dual-fuel injector as well as a second 2/2-way valve, whose inlet is connected via a supply line to the injection line at a point between the first 2/2-way valve and the pressure chamber, and whose outlet is connected to the low-pressure fuel side by way of an outlet line. As a result, the otherwise conventional 3/2-way solenoid control valves, which are significantly more complex technically, can be replaced by more reasonably priced 2/2-way valves. At the same time, this raises the possibility of shifting the quantity metering for additive fluid to a single metering valve that serves an entire group of injectors.

    Abstract: A fuel injection device for internal combustion engines is proposed in which a fuel injection valve is controlled by the pressure in a pressure chamber, which acts on a pressure shoulder in its opening and closing direction. The pressure supply to the a pressure chamber is controlled by a control valve member which in turn is moved by a pressure in a working chamber. The pressure in the working chamber is controlled by a pre-control valve which has a closing body which, through the influence of the piezoelectric drive mechanism, is moved from a second valve seat to a first valve seat and thereby momentarily opens a relief line of the working chamber. This movement results in an opening of the control valve member and a supplying of high fuel pressure to the pressure chamber for purposes of injection. Thus a very small pre-injection quantity is produced.

    Abstract: Known tank systems have an adsorption filter in order to accept degassing constituents of the fuel in a fuel tank. Such tank systems have to be tested for leaks and a pump appliance is provided for this purpose. The pump appliance is fitted to a ventilation conduit of the adsorption filter in order to supply a defined volume to the tank system so that an increase in pressure in the tank system is effected. In order to determine whether the tank system is pressure-tight, ample time is left after the pressure build-up in order that, if pressure decays, the conclusion can be drawn that there is a leak. The pump appliance according to the invention possesses an electromagnetic valve which has a vacuum connection connected to an induction pipe of an internal combustion engine in order to adjust, alternately, vacuum and ambient pressure in a pump space so that the pressure forces move a pump diaphragm in order to pump air into a ventilation conduit of an adsorption filter.
