Abstract: A brake apparatus for vehicles having a wheel brake on each vehicle wheel, each wheel brake has a brake body non-rotatably connected to the vehicle wheel, a brake actuator that engages the brake body for braking purposes, and a brake anchor plate that contains the brake actuator and is fastened to the chassis. A sensor that is disposed on the brake anchor plate for detecting the wheel brake moment, the sensor is universally usable for various embodiments of the wheel brake and with the least possible alterations to the chassis, the sensor is embodied as a so-called pillow block force transducer that is adapted so that it constitutes at least one fastening element between the brake anchor plate and the chassis.
Abstract: An attenuation circuit for a pile driving force measurement device is disclosed. The attenuation circuit allows for measurements to be made of the force being applied to a driven pile at a reduced voltage compatible with a voltage sensitive measurement device, such as a personal computer. The forces measured create measurable electrical impulses via magnetostriction. The attenuation circuit conditions the measured impulses so that no separate electrical power circuit or battery is required to power the sensor. At the same time the attenuation circuit protects the measurement device from voltages which might be overly high and damage the equipment.
Abstract: A fuel delivery pump for a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, which includes a pair of gears that mesh with each other and are driven to rotate in a pump chamber. The gears deliver fuel from an intake chamber connected to a storage tank, along a supply conduit that is formed between the end face of the gears and the circumference wall of the pump chamber, into a pressure chamber connected to the fuel injection pump. A conduit is integrated into a housing of the fuel delivery pump and connects the intake chamber to the pressure chamber. The conduit can be opened by means of a pressure valve disposed in it, wherein the pressure valve is functionally connected to a throttle valve that throttles the fuel supply into the intake chamber as a function of the controlled pressure on the control valve via the pressure chamber.

Abstract: A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines is proposed, in which with the aid of a high-pressure pump fuel is pumped at high pressure into a high-pressure fuel reservoir (6), from which electrically controlled fuel injection valves (9) are supplied. The pressure in the high-pressure fuel reservoir is maintained in such a way that a first pump element (16) pumps fuel into the high-pressure reservoir with a variable pumping quantity, and a second pump element (17) as needed pumps a constant high-pressure fuel quantity into the high-pressure reservoir. A simple, economical system is thus obtained for furnishing high fuel pressure for injection by the fuel injection system (FIG. 2).
Abstract: A fuel injection system with a common rail pressure reservoir which receives fuel at high pressure, and with a dual-substance nozzle for bifluid injection of fuel and a supplementary fluid into an intern combustion engine. The system includes a first 2/2-way valve (MV1) in the injection line between the common rail pressure reservoir and a pressure chamber surrounding the nozzle needle of the dual-substance nozzle, and a second 2/2-way valve (MV2), whose inlet communicates via a supply line with the injection line at a point between the first 2/2-way valve (MV1) and the pressure chamber (3.5), and whose outlet communicates with an outlet line on a fuel low-pressure side. The system is economical and at the same time, it becomes possible to shift the metering for supplementary fluid to a single metering valve that controls an entire group of injectors.
Abstract: The invention relates to a piston pump with a piston received axially displaceably in a pump bore. To improve the aspiration performance of the piston pump. A cuff with a U-shaped annular cross section is provided, the cuff is inserted into the pump bore surrounding the piston, an outer lip forms a diaphragm, which rests against a wall of the pump bore and is acted upon on its outside with ambient pressure through a venting bore. The cuff is part of a fluid storage element, which makes an additional fluid volume available to the piston pump. The diaphragm acted upon by ambient pressure creates a pumping effect, if a fluid pressure in the fluid storage element drops below ambient pressure in an intake stroke of the piston.

Abstract: A delivery device for fuel to an internal combustion engine, which includes a fuel reservoir. After the engine is shut off or in the event of an accident, there is the danger that the pressurized fuel present in the fuel reservoir will escape from the delivery device. A blocking device is provided on the fuel reservoir, which after the engine is shut off or after an accident, the blocking device engages with an actuation rod that is provided with detent teeth, by means of an electromagnetically actuated locking pin and thus prevents a force impingement of a compression spring on the movable wall of the fuel reservoir. By use of the blocking devices the pressure in the fuel line is completely reduced even after the escape of small fuel quantities. The delivery device is suited for mixture-compressing internal combustion engines with externally supplied ignition.

Abstract: A water-tight plastic component, with a ventilation opening for air exchange between the component interior and the component exterior, and with a gas permeable membrane that covers the ventilation opening to prevent the entry of water into the component interior. The membrane is inserted in a cup-shaped recess disposed in front of the mouth of the ventilation opening, and is clamped at the edge, together with a sealing ring, against the bottom of the recess, in order to achieve a simple assembly. The sealing ring and membrane edge are overlapped by segment tabs that are disposed axially spaced from the bottom of the recess and protrude radially from the cylinder wall of the recess, forming an undercut.
Abstract: The valve has a seat valve with a hollow conical valve seat and a closing member in the form of a ball segment. The valve seat is centrally fed by an influx bore that communicates with a pressure fluid inlet. A tappet that has the closing member is engaged by a magnet armature that acts on the seat valve in the closing direction and a restoring spring that acts in the opening direction. The valve, which is embodied as an on-off valve, can be controlled into stable intermediary positions because of the following measures: The diameter of the influx bore virtually corresponds to the seal diameter of the valve seat; the cone angle of the valve seat is at most 90.degree.

Abstract: An air compressor, from whose outlet a supply line leads to an air drier for the purpose of supplying the compressed air system. On the outlet side of the air drier, the supply line branches into a plurality of line branches that lead to at least two consumer circuits. The pressure in the consumer circuits can be monitored by pressure sensors. Furthermore, control electronics are provided which are connected to the pressure sensors. The consumer circuits can be disconnected from the compressed air supply by a closing member that is disposed in the respective supply line branch and can be switched by the programmable control electronics. By means of this, the supply of compressed air into the consumer circuits and the withdrawal of compressed air for transfer from one circuit into the others can be controlled by the control electronics. The compressed air supply device can be used in the vehicle compressed air systems of commercial vehicles.
Abstract: A valve for controlling liquids, which for actuation cooperates with a hydraulic step-up piston bore. A pressure chamber provided in the step-up piston bore is sealed off by two pistons and two diaphragms downstream of the two pistons. To compensate for liquid losses in the pressure chamber caused by pressure exerted on the step-up piston bore, control chambers are formed downstream of the pistons and upstream of the diaphragms, and each of the control chambers are connected to a leaking oil bore via a respective throttle bore. The throttle bores have a sharp-edged transition in the relief direction for the control chamber, and a rounded transition in the filling direction for the control chamber, and as a result a minimum pressure for refilling the pressure chamber is always available. The valve is intended for use in fuel injection systems for motor vehicle internal combustion engines.
Abstract: A method for processing an exhaust gas produced during manufacturing of semiconductor devices including the steps of introducing a thermally disintegrable or thermally oxidizable exhaust gas produced during manufacturing of semiconductor devices into a processing chamber; heating up this exhaust gas in the processing chamber so that the exhaust gas undergoes thermal disintegration or thermal oxidation and becomes harmless and easy to handle for further processing; capturing fine particles of solid oxides or the like suspended inside the processing chamber with a sweeper provided inside the processing chamber; and sweeping fine particles of solid oxides or the like accumulated on a wall of the processing chamber with the sweeper.
Abstract: A device for measuring the mass of a flowing medium which avoids measuring liquid components entrained in the medium. The device includes an interrupting body, which is accommodated upstream of the device, in a section of an air intake line that tapers in the flow direction, in order to filter out liquid components entrained in the flow by means of the interrupting body and to divert the liquid components from the measuring device. The invention is provided for measuring the mass of a flowing medium, in particular for measuring the intake air mass of internal combustion engines.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines which has an integrated feed pump with an outer ring and an inner ring, the latter being coupled to a drive shaft of the fuel injection pump via a toothing. The individual teeth of this toothing extend with their respective end face and tooth bottom along a respective circular arc about a center point, which is located in the radial plane of the drive shaft extending through these teeth along the axis of the drive shaft. As a result, an increased angular offset between the drive shaft and the plane of the inner ring without the risk of wear is possible.

Abstract: A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines is proposed which supplies fuel injection valves with fuel from a high-pressure fuel source, under the control of a control unit. The fuel injection valve has an injection valve member, whose opening or closing position is determined by a pressure that acts upon this injection valve member and that is set in a control chamber. To that end, to perform an injection, the pressure in the control chamber must be relieved; which is achieved with a control valve that opens two different outflow cross sections of an outflow conduit of the control chamber in succession. This makes it possible to accomplish an adapted opening of the fuel injection valve member for a preinjection and for a main injection.

Abstract: A method for operating a self-igniting, air-compressing internal combustion engine, in which the engine is supplied with fuel by an injection system that has a high-pressure fuel reservoir, which is supplied with fuel by a high-pressure fuel pump and outputs fuel to electrically controlled injection valves. A control unit is provided, which detects the operating mode of the engine and upon occurrence of an overrunning mode allows a pressure increase in the high-pressure fuel reservoir. On resumption of normal operation, the drive of the high-pressure fuel pump is then interrupted, and the engine is supplied from the fuel previously stored at elevated pressure, until a lower limit value of the high pressure fuel is attained.
