Abstract: A power operated carpet stretcher comprising a frame having a bottom surface provided with prong members positioned and sized to grasp a carpet. A hook is slidably mounted on the frame to engage a slat fixed to the floor adjacent a wall edge. The hook is operatively connected to a power jack in such a manner that, upon actuation of the power jack, the frame is pulled toward the slat engaged by the hook thereby causing the carpet to be pulled by the prong members toward the adjacent wall edge. A method of installing a carpet with this stretcher is also disclosed.
Abstract: An rpm sensor, in which an electrically conductive connection between a coil and two electrical lines, leading to the outside via current rails, can be made in a single welding operation each. The rpm sensor is intended for use in anti-lock vehicle brake systems.

Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines is proposed, having a reciprocating piston that defines a pump work chamber in a pump cylinder and that on its jacket face has a control recess communicating with the pump work chamber, and a control slide is displaceable on the pump piston in order to control the high-pressure pumping. This control slide, which cooperates with the control recess on the pump piston, is actuated via an adjusting lever disposed on an adjusting lever shaft; the adjusting lever shaft is moved by an adjusting lever mounted on it outside the housing. This adjusting lever can be pivoted between two stops; according to the invention, these stops are disposed on a base plate that simultaneously acts as a flange of the adjusting lever shaft bearing bush and that can be moved relative to the pump housing via oblong slots in order to adjust the stops.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump having a pump piston in a bore of a pump cylinder, wherein the pump piston is rotatable for fuel control, and having a niche disposed in the pump cylinder for receiving a control slide, wherein the niche can be made by non-cutting shaping. The niche has a flat niche bottom, which changes into two oblique niche walls, which extend in two straight parallel niche walls facing one another, these parallel niche walls in turn, change into oblique faces and terminate in slideways, in which the control slide is guided against twisting by slide runners that simultaneously act as impact aprons. The niche is embodied by non-cutting shaping in such a way that its wall thickness relative to the cylindrical outer shape of the pump cylinder is embodied as virtually constant.

Abstract: A known fuel injection valve that can be secured to a fuel distributor by rotating the fuel injection valve about a longitudinal valve axis. A first electrical contact element extends out of the valve housing, parallel to the longitudinal valve axis. Such fuel injection valves can be electrically contacted by a bank of contacts that can be mounted on the fuel distributor in a direction of the longitudinal valve axis. The novel fuel injection valve includes first electrical contact elements which extend radially outward. By rotating the fuel injection valve about its longitudinal valve axis, an electrically conductive connection can be made between first electrical contact elements and second electrical contact elements that electrically contact the connection in the fuel injection valve.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, having a reciprocating pump piston that is guided in a cylinder liner, having a control slide that is axially displaceable on the pump piston, inside a lateral recess of the cylinder liner, and is moved via an adjusting shaft that is located in a transverse conduit disposed in a pump housing transversely to the cylinder axis. The transverse conduit intersects the housing bore that receives the cylinder liner in the region of a recess that form a partial suction chamber, forming a through opening for a lever of the control slide, and it also serves to drain fluid from the partial suction chamber.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a drawer system including a roll-up device comprising a core cylinder and a sheet to cover the upper open surface of a drawer in which the sheet is rolled up onto the core cylinder by elasticity. The sheet roll-up device is placed above the entrance of the drawer and the end of the sheet is secured to the top back side of the drawer so that the sheet can be drawn out from the sheet roll-up device against the elasticity to cover the open surface of the drawer and the articles therein when the drawer is pushed inside of the entrance, when the drawer is moved outwardly the sheet is rolled onto the roll-up device by the elasticity. Rollers may be placed on the ends of the core cylinder which rotate to feed the sheet out or to feed the sheet onto the drawer as the drawer is moved in and out.
Abstract: A stop plate for assembly between a stop shoulder of a valve needle and an inner shoulder of a valve casing in known fuel injection valves. The stop plate limits the stroke of the valve needle and, between its through opening and its circumference, has an assembly slot. During the flanging of the valve casing and the high axial forces connected with this assembly a high edge pressure at the assembly slot and nonuniform deformations of the valve casing may occur. The stop plate includes at least two recesses which are formed in an upper stop face of the stop plate, the said stop face resting against the inner shoulder of the valve casing, these recesses lying symmetrically to a center line of the assembly slot and in a half of the stop plate in which the assembly slot is not formed. The recesses lead to a uniform and reduced impressing of the stop plate into the valve casing.
Abstract: An apparatus for active control of body motions of a motor vehicle, to reduce undesired vehicle motion, to improve the rise and simultaneously adjust the level of the vehicle, while requiring very little energy overall, comprising three structural elements disposed in a parallel operative arrangement, namely an extremely soft compensation spring, which bears the majority of the static weight of the vehicle body; a final control element, the behavior of which is triggerable via an electronic control unit and which may be embodied pneumatically or hydraulically and in each case includes a spring element function that reacts in the manner of a substantially stiffer final control element spring; and as the third element, a semiactive damper, in which throttle valves for a tension and compression stage are triggered either in opposite directions or the same directions, depending upon which active or passive damping signals are to be processed.
Abstract: A fuel injection valve including a blind hole in a stepped inner pole from which a stop pin extends into a passage hole of an armature which is designed with a tubular blind bore. In the open position of the fuel injection valve, a ball-shaped valve closing body is in contact with the stop pin. The armature is directly connected to the valve closing body so that there is a very short moving valve part. The fuel injection valve of the invention not only has good dynamic behavior but also has a short and compact installation shape. The fuel injection valve is particularly suitable for fuel injection systems of mixture-compressing externally ignited internal combustion engines.
Abstract: A change-speed lever apparatus for use on a bicycle, comprises: a fixed member; a winding member pivotably supported to the fixed member and urged toward a cable-winding direction, the winding member winding a change-speed cable; a control lever operable to pivot the winding member only in the cable-winding direction via a one-way mechanism with an operation thereof in a forward direction against the urging force. A position-maintaining mechanism having an engaging member and a plurality of engaging portions operable to stepwisely and elastically engage with the engaging member, the mechanism maintaining a position of the winding member; and a release mechanism for releasing the position-maintaining condition of the winding member by the position-maintaining mechanism by releasing the engagement between the engaging member and the one engaging portion and for effecting a change-speed operation by causing the winding member to pivot in the cable-rewinding direction with the cable-rewinding urging force.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines having a reciprocating pump piston and an annular slide displaceable on it, with a control bore that cooperates with a control recess on the pump piston, the recess communicates with a pump work chamber via a conduit. By means of location of control bores in the annular slide, the outflow stream is provided with the longest possible path until the outflow stream strikes the wall of the cylinder liner, in order to attain the freest and most unhindered possible stream course with reduced turbulence. Because the outflow stream strikes the hardened surface of the niche wall of the cylinder liner obliquely, cavitation damage is greatly attenuated or locally limited to sites of maximum resistance.

Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines for controlling the fuel quantity with an electric closed-loop control device, which controls an electric positioner, which in turn actuates an element that determines the fuel injection quantity per pump piston supply stroke. The supply of fuel to the pump work chamber is effected via a fuel supply line, in which an adjustable throttle is disposed. The throttle is actuated in accordance with the position of a gas pedal, but it controls an increasingly larger through cross section of the fuel supply line than would correspond to the fuel metering by the closed-loop control device. A minimum through cross section is defined by a fixed throttle. With this apparatus, emergency operation if the electric control system for the fuel injection quantity fails can be attained, without the apparatus for emergency operation interfering with fuel metering by the closed-loop control device.
Abstract: A screw or nail sustainer comprising a tube having a chamber for inserting a screw or nail into a base opening of the chamber, at least one fluid flow opening formed with a base portion of the tube for injecting a liquid resin, and at least one ring-like projection formed with a portion of the tube remote from the fluid flow opening toward a tip of the tube to project from and to surround a periphery of the tube. A plurality of bag forming wings are provided with the tip portion of the tube to project radially. The bag forming wings are bent toward the base portion of the tube when the screw or nail sustainer is inserted into a hole of a board so that a bag like portion may be made in cooperation with the outer surface of the tube so as to make an opening toward the base portion of the tube.
Abstract: A hydraulic dual-circuit brake system with front/rear brake circuit distribution, an anti-skid system (ABS) and traction control (ASR) for motor vehicles including a four-channel hydraulic unit with control valves and with one return pump and a separate pump element for each brake circuit. An apparatus to supply brake pressure to the rear axle brake circuit in traction control has a reversing valve, which in traction control disconnects the rear-axle brake circuit from the master brake cylinder, and a pump feed apparatus, which upon activation feeds brake fluid into the pump element of the rear axle brake circuit.
Abstract: An electromagnetically actuatable valve in which the fluid flow quantity output during the opening and closing process of the valve is adjusted by varying the magnitude of the spring force of the restoring spring acting upon the valve closing body by varying the magnetic attraction on the valve closing element. For adjusting the fluid flow quantity output during the opening and closing process of the electromagnetically adjustable valve, the housing cap (10) is moved relative to the valve jacket and thus the critical magnetic throttle cross section defining the magnetic flux of the magnetic circuit is varied, until the measured output actual quantity of the fluid matches a predetermined set-point quantity. The method and valve according to the invention is especially well-suited for electromagnetically actuatable fuel injection valves of fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines.
Abstract: The fuel injection pump having a pump piston, which has a forward segment and a rear segment of larger diameter The pump piston operates in a cylinder bore with two bore segments of different diameters, corresponding to the pump piston diameters. In the forward bore segment, the forward piston segment defines a pump work chamber, which can be made to communicate with a fuel reservoir via an electrically actuated valve. The rear segment and the rear piston segment of defines an annular work chamber, which communicates with a fuel conduit and a distributor body communicates, in an intake stroke of the pump piston, with a fuel-filled suction chamber. In the supply stroke of the pump piston, the piston work chamber is reduced in size and fuel is positively displaced from the piston work chamber and pumped into the fuel reservoir. In the intake stroke of the pump piston, the pump work chamber is filled from the fuel reservoir.
Abstract: A novel valve, including a restoring spring which is pressed into a spring chamber opening and is held in the spring chamber opening by a radially oriented tension on one end of the spring; the depth to which the restoring spring is pressed determines the magnitude of the spring force acting upon the valve closing part. By dispensing with an adjusting sheath, not only is the danger of chip formation in the press-fitting operation lessened, but the production cost of the valve is reduced substantially as well. The valve is used as a fuel injection valve for fuel injection systems.
