Abstract: A damping device having a regulatable shock absorber functioning both passively and actively is proposed. The adjustment of the shock absorber is effected by the actuation of a control device, the deflection of which is varied by the control pressure in a control line. Depending upon the deflection of the control device, the shock absorber functions as a passive or an active damper. In passive damping, the size of the throttle cross sections between work chambers of the shock absorber is controlled. In active damping, damping fluid is delivered to or removed from one of the work chambers via the control line. The pump capacity necessary for bringing the control pressure to bear is designed to be so low that compensation for the internal friction in the damping device or in a vehicle suspension is assured. The components necessary for adjusting the control pressure can therefore be kept quite small in size, and in particular a low-capacity compression pump can be used.
Abstract: A brake booster in a housing, having a servo piston slidably supported in the housing and having a piston rod protruding into the housing for transmitting a brake force. A chamber is provided in the servo piston for receiving brake fluid drawn after the opening of a valve from a reservoir or supply container and pumped via a pump or the like. The chamber also communicates via a further valve or the like with a return line to the supply container. To improve the closing behavior of the valve, the first valve for the admission of the brake fluid is formed in the chamber, embodied as a servo chamber, by a valve bushing, or its annular collar, and a valve seat in a blind bore recess in the servo piston. On the other side, the valve bushing, with a bottom, engages the inside of a bell-shaped valve seat, which together with the piston rod, or a slide connected to the piston rod, forms the valve for returning the brake fluid.
Abstract: This invention relates to a device for shooting bullets by pressure medium for use in a toy gun. This mechanism includes a piston member fitted into an outer tubular member and reciprocating in response to changes in the pressure medium, and wait hook arms are provided in the piston member. Further, an inner tubular body having a gas injection hole is fixedly provided within the outer tubular member, and a needle valve for opening and closing the injection hole is provided in association with the inner tubular body. This needle valve is provided with a weight biased by a spring member. The weight is disengaged from the wait hook arm by the advancing movement of the piston member and hits against the rear end portion of the needle valve. In addition, at the rear end portion of the needle valve, there is provided a seal valve for temporarily closing a gas introduction hole provided on the side of the rear end portion of the outer tubular member by hitting of the weight.
Abstract: A quick connect drive up receptacle which includes a receptacle supported by spaced arms. An adjustable spring supports the spaced arms so that the receptacle is held at a desired height. Male connectors on the vehicle are so configured that the arm supported receptacle will engage the male connectors to supply current to one or more devices on or in the vehicle.
Abstract: A bushing made of elastic plastic, spherically receives a ball pivot of an adjusting screw and is fixed in a socket which protrudes from a back side of a reflector. Two spring clips of the bushing grip two catches of the socket from behind, and two rails of the hollow journal cooperate with two slot links of the frame. This ball-and-socket mounting, which is coaxial with respect to the adjusting screw can be assembled by robots and does not cause any bending moments that unfavorably affect the reflector mounting.
Abstract: An attachment for a shopping cart for securing a grocery list, shopping coupons, etc. The attachment includes a base member upon which spaced bars are secured by spring loaded holders. The base member is secured to the cross-handle of the shopping cart by use of a clamp having the general inner shape of the handle. The bars are lifted in order to place the grocery list or coupons under the bars.
Abstract: A brake system having anti-lock and traction control, which includes a master brake cylinder that can be subjected to pressure from a brake pedal, with at least one brake line connected to corresponding wheel brake cylinders. A valve is incorporated into the respective brake line via which the wheel brake cylinder connected to this brake line can be connected via a return pump to the brake line. Upstream of the return pump, a pressure line is connected to branch off to a pressure chamber of a vacuum cell, and brake fluid can be supplied from the pressure chamber to the return pump via this pressure line to insure that the return pump is always supplied with fluid.
Abstract: A brake booster has a first booster cylinder and a booster piston disposed in it for displacing a master cylinder piston to pressurize a brake circuit. A tappet displaces the first booster piston directly if boost fluid pressure is inadequate. A second booster piston in a parallel booster cylinder drives a pump piston which also pressurizes the brake circuit. The second booster piston and the pump piston have hydraulically effective surface areas which are matched to one another so as to have a larger boosting ratio than the first booster piston and master cylinder piston. Forward displacement of the second booster piston causes a bent arm to contact and push the first booster piston forward. If the boost pressure supply apparatus fails, then only the first booster piston and the master cylinder piston are displaced by the brake pedal; brake pedal travel increases considerably.
Abstract: In known devices, the fuel injection valves, disposed in individual receiving bores, are retained individually with clamping shoes, and electrical contact is provided by individual electric plugs. The novel device is intended to assure that all the fuel injection valves are retained and provided with electrical contact simultaneously. The fuel injection valves inserted into receiving bores of a basic body are retained in common in the receiving bores by means of a contact-making outlet strip, slipped onto the basic body, and are electrically connected in common by means of electrically conductive contact elements. The entire compact device can be fastened as a unit to the engine and electrically connected, via a connection plug to an electronic control unit for trigging the fuel injection valves. The device makes adaptation to various engine types possible.

Abstract: It is proposed that a drive tappet of a pump piston be provided with an integrated hydraulic supply onset adjusting device. This device includes an adjusting piston, which is guided in a work cylinder and is joined to the piston base of the pump piston, and a pressure chamber. The delivery of the control fluid pumped into the pressure chamber is effected via a delivery conduit discharging into the cylinder bore and a connecting conduit extending inside the pump piston and leading to the pressure chamber. By means of the control point located at the discharge point of the delivery conduit, relatively high control pressures can be fed into the system without relatively large leakage losses. The apparatus is usable in all piston-type supply pumps in which a control face on the pump piston, in cooperation with the control opening in the cylinder bore, determines the onset of supply.
Abstract: A device that serves to actuate a throttle valve. The actuating device includes an electric drive motor and a step-down gear driven by the motor; an output shaft of the step-down gear is operatively connected to a throttle valve shaft which controls the throttle valve. The actuating device is compact in structure as well as versatile in use, even with various sizes of throttle valve, the step-down gear is embodied as a planetary gear having its output shaft provided with a gear wheel, which is operatively connected via a toothed belt with a second gear wheel, disposed on the throttle valve shaft. The motor is controlled by a control means assembled in the same housing as the motor and the throttle valve.

Abstract: The proposed vehicle brake system includes a brake fluid pressure device embodied as a brake booster, front wheel brakes rear wheel brakes and an anti-skid apparatus having valves for maintaining, reducing and increasing brake pressure. One of the brake pressure maintenance valves is associated with the rear wheel brakes and is further developed into a valve combination, which additionally includes a brake pressure regulating valve. The valve combination includes only one valve seat and one valve element, which serves both for keeping braking pressure constant in the anti-skid situation and to limit the rear wheel braking pressures during braking. The valve element is controlled on one side by a control piston acted upon by brake pressure and on the other by an electromagnet.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, in particular having a plurality of linearly aligned pump elements, the pump injection onset is determined by one control slide per pump element in which the control slide is axially displaceable on the pump plunger and by a control of relief conduits of the pump work chambers. The control slide is actuated via a torque shaft in that a respective adjusting bolt of a straddling element joined to the torque shaft engages a cross groove of the control slide. The adjusting bolt has a cylindrical stud portion and a slide shoe supported thereon, and the slide shoe is secured against axial displacement by means of a head of the adjusting bolt.

Abstract: In a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines having at least one pump piston defining a pump work chamber and set into reciprocating motion by a cam drive for executing an intake stroke and a supply stroke, and having an electrical switching valve controlling the duration of supply and disposed in a relief line leading from the pump work chamber to a pump interior, a non-return valve having an opening direction toward the pump work chamber is disposed in a fuel inflow line connecting the pump interior with the pump work chamber in order to attain an emergency stoppage of the engine in the event the switching valve malfunctions. The valve element of the non-return valve is acted upon on one side by a valve closing spring and on the other by a fuel-filled control chamber, with which the valve element is locked in its closing position during the closed position of the switching valve.
Abstract: A ceiling rack which comprises a preferably T-shaped attachment member carrying usually one or more pairs of elongated support members is useful for the uncluttered storage of a variety of articles which hang from the rack in an easily removable way. The attachment member has a horizontal bar which attaches to the ceiling and has a downwardly projecting vertical stem mounted telescopically to (and preferably outside) a height adjusting member. To the lower end of this height adjusting member is attached a frame to which is removably attached at least one elongated horizontal support member. Plural support members are preferably parallel to each other and when a pair of support members is chosen, each of the pair is equidistant from the height adjusting member although not necessarily in the same horizontal plane as the lower end of the height adjusting member.

The lower bearing location of the magnet armature is provided by the slide of the hydraulic valve, which with a corresponding step engages the inner bore of the armature; the upper bearing location is embodied by a slide element attached to a stationary cover plate.
Abstract: A hydraulic vehicle brake system having a brake booster disposed in a housing. The brake booster communicates via an energy supply system with a supply container and via shutoff devices with brake chambers that can be acted upon by plungers via the brake booster. The brake chambers are connected in turn via brake lines and incorporated shutoff valves to wheel brake cylinders of wheel brakes. A stop bushing surrounds the master cylinder piston and has a sleeve, and a spring is disposed between the sleeve and an annular stop integral with the housing. The stop bushing, an inner plunger face and the housing enclose a plunger chamber. In regulated operation, the plunger chamber likewise communicates with the energy supply system via the brake booster and corresponding lines. During normal brake operation the plunger chamber is connected to the supply container via a line connected to a reversible valve.
Abstract: The invention relates to a piezoelectric positioning element having a micrometer screw, which is combined with a piezotranslator via an intermediate part that is adjustable in length. The stationary portion and the piezoelectrically adjustable portion of the intermediate part are joined to one another by means of a parallel spring guide. The translator may also be made of an electrostrictive or magnetostrictive material.

Abstract: For controlling high-pressure phases during the stroke of a pump piston of a fuel injection pump, magnetic valves are also used, which are built into relief lines of the pump work chamber of such fuel injection pumps and which with the instant of closure of the relief line determine the injection onset and with the instant of reopening of the relief line determine the end of injection and hence the injection quantity. Such valves must be capable of switching rapidly, in view of the high rpm of internal combustion engines, yet must be as small as possible and use the least possible energy. By using a piston slide which in the closing state is balanced in pressure on the high-pressure side, and by relieving the chambers defined on the face end by the piston slide, a fast-switching, recoilless magnetic valve is obtained, which is opened by a restoring spring when the electromagnet is in the currentless state.

Abstract: A fuel injection pump is proposed for internal combustion engines having a pump piston having a blind bore and two control bores and in which the fuel quantity to be supplied is controlled by means of a control slide having oblique control edges. At least two control edges are provided in a window-like recess of the control slide, of which the lower edge in each case and possibly the upper one as well extend obliquely; the upper control edge provided in the recess determines the supply onset, in cooperation with the first control bore, and the lower control edge of the recess determines the end of supply, in cooperation with the second control bore.
