Abstract: A field emission display device is disclosed. Since the size of the cells adjacent to the spacer is set smaller than the size of the other cells, the luminance and aperture rate of the panel can be improved. In addition, the width of the pulse supplied to the cells adjacent to the spacer and the width of the pulse supplied to the cells not adjacent to the spacer are set different, so that the same luminance can be displayed in every cell.
Abstract: There is disclosed an energy recovering circuit with boosting voltage-up and an energy efficient method using the same that are capable of boosting the voltage factor of an energy recovered from the panel to rapidly re-appl it to the panel, to thereby reduce the charging time of a panel capacitor and improve its energy recovery efficiency. An energy recovering circuit according to the present invention includes a voltage boosting circuit for boosting a voltage factor of an energy recovered from a panel and supplying the boosted energy to the panel. An energy efficient method according to the present invention includes steps of recovering an energy from a panel to a closed loop; and a controlling the closed loop in order to supplying the energy with its voltage factor boosted to the panel.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for multiplexing a special resource of an intelligent network-intelligent peripheral (IN-IP) are disclosed, including a plurality of specialized resources that provide services to subscriber calls, contacting an intelligent network, and a plurality of modules that manage groups of the specialized resources. A main processor manages the plurality of modules and collects state information from each of the modules. A resource management block restores a service to a subscriber call, disrupted by a faulty one of the specialized resources, in accordance with the state information collected by the main processor.
Abstract: Disclosed is a refrigerator having a dispenser comprising: a dispenser case mounted at one side of a refrigerator door; a cold water faucet and a hot water faucet provided in the dispenser case and from which cold water and hot water are supplied; and a dispenser door for opening and closing the dispenser case. In this construction, a hot water button is prevented from being pressed by a child by mistake and thus a child is prevented from getting burned by hot water from the hot water faucet, thereby enhancing a stability. Also, when a cup or a container becomes hot while or after the user gets hot water from the hot water faucet in the cup or the container, the cup or the container can be placed on the dispenser door thereby to enhance the user's convenience.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for encoding images, more particularly to an encoding unit in conjunction with a library of pictorial entities and image qualifiers. The method and apparatus provide encoding an image by using a code factor table in conjunction with a set of element codes. The resulting image code allows the set pictorial elements of an image and their associated image qualifiers to be represented by a compact code uniquely representing a given configuration of pictorial elements. The use of the resulting image code facilitates the transmission and storage of images requiring only the code to be sent or stored. The invention further provides a computer readable medium comprising a program element that direct a computer to implement the encoding process.
Abstract: An apparatus for testing a performance of a mobile station having a global positioning system (GPS) function including a test block having test commands and a test user interface for testing the performance of the mobile station. The test block and test interface are including within the mobile station. Abstract: The present invention relates to a plasma display panel, and more particularly, to a cell structure of a plasma display panel. In a plasma display panel in which square cells constitute a delta type barrier rib structure, a red cell and a green cell are alternately formed in a first horizontal cell line of the cells, a blue cell is located at the lower center between the red cell and the green cell in a second horizontal cell line of the cells, the blue cell is alternately formed together with a blank cell, and the first horizontal cell line and the second horizontal cell line are alternately formed in the vertical direction. Accordingly, brightness, efficiency and the contrast ratio are improved and high-speed driving is accomplished.
Abstract: A plasma display panel in which metal and auxiliary metal electrodes are formed such that brightness and efficiency are improved. Abstract: A method of introducing a non-perceptional signal (watermark) to a digital media data is disclosed. The method is based on the representation of source digital data using a special matrix, insertion of a digital watermark into the special matrix to receive the watermarked matrix, and generation of the watermarked data using the source data and the watermarked matrix. In addition, watermark detection of the watermarked data is performed by calculating the special matrix from the watermarked data.

Abstract: A carrier module for a semiconductor device handler, in which grooves for flow of cooling fluid are formed in a seating surface of the carrier module for the semiconductor device. The grooves improve cooling efficiency by forcing the cooling fluid sprayed from a test temperature deviation compensating system onto the carrier module to spread throughout substantially an entire surface of the semiconductor device, and to remain in the carrier module for a period of time before being discharged.

Abstract: In the preferred embodiment, the transmission length of the non-full rate frame is shortened frame in order for the mobile terminal 100 to monitor other frequencies with a single receiver. Modulated symbols of non-full rate frame are transmitted with reduced repetition maintaining the sum of repeated symbol energy. Generally, for 1/n (n=2,4,8) length transmission, 1/m (m?n) rate frame repeated m/n times and transmitted with n/m symbol energy of the full rate frame. The system may use rate limitation to generate a non-full rate frame. A position of the transmitted symbols may be randomized by a mobile specific predetermined random code to minimize interference between terminals different from each other. For intensive frequency scanning and synchronization signal transmission, non-transmitting period can be assigned for successive frames of some interval. For 1/n (n=2,4,8) length successive transmission, the starting position of the transmitted symbols are staggered by 1/n frame time in each frame.
Abstract: An error detecting method and apparatus may be provided for a moving image transmitting system. An error detection code may be generated for each data block of a frame. The generated error detection code may be inserted into a byte alignment code of the data block. The frame may then be transmitted from a transmitting side to a receiving side. A byte alignment code may be extracted from each data block after the frame is received at the receiving side. Errors may be detected based on the extracted code. The method may enable a moving image encoder to be stably operated and allow improvement of the picture quality. Also, the method may allow the byte alignment code, which has been regarded as meaningless information, to be associated with a channel code so as to enhance error detection efficiency.
Abstract: A transmission apparatus of a mobile communication terminal is implemented so that a modem, a gain controller and a power controlling circuit have one loop construction. In the transmission apparatus, an AGC signal of a modem is precisely adjusted according to an internal temperature of the terminal, and the adjusted AGC signal is applied to gain control in real time, so that a consumption amount of battery due to a loss of a current can be remarkably reduced.
Abstract: A logic circuit performs an internal level conversion function by driving portions of the circuit with different supply voltages. In one embodiment, first and second stage storage circuits are driven with different supply voltages. In another embodiment, first and second stage storage circuits are driven with a first supply voltage and an inverter coupled to the first stage storage circuit is driven with a second supply voltage. In either case, data transfer into the storage circuits may be controlled by different states of a clock signal. The logic circuit may be a flip-flop circuit, a latch circuit, or another type of circuit.
Abstract: A plasma display panel is disclosed which increases an aperture rate, facilitate alignment, makes a cell to be shown uniformly, minimizes an increase in capacitance and a reduction of a cell size, and shares a metal bus electrode. Abstract: A clock-synchronizing apparatus and method of devices with different clocks are disclosed. Between a first device operated with a first clock and a second device operated with a second clock faster than the first clock, an operation latency of the second device refers to the first clock, control signals that controls the second device are generated at the second clock speed according to the operation latency, and an enable interval of the control signals has a 1/4 clock period of the first clock. Accordingly, since the first device and the second device can transmit and receive a data to and from each other while being operated by using their own clock, an access latency for the first device to access the second device can be reduced and a transmission band width between the two devices can be effectively used.
Abstract: A plasma display panel and a method and apparatus for driving the same that are capable of preventing miss-writing and improving discharge and light-emission efficiencies. In the panel, an upper substrate and a lower substrate are opposed to each other with having a plurality of discharge cells therebetween. A first upper electrode group includes at least one electrode having a desired width and is formed on the upper substrate. A second upper electrode group includes at least one electrode having a different width from the first upper electrode group and is formed on the upper substrate in such a manner to be adjacent to the first upper electrode group. A data electrode is provided on the lower substrate in such a manner to be perpendicular the first and second upper electrode group. In the method and apparatus, a short-path discharge occurs between two electrodes spaced at a small distance from each other, of electrodes included in the first and second upper electrode groups.
Abstract: Disclosed is a face extraction method using color distortion information. The face extraction method includes extracting color distortion information from the given image, determining a skin color range in a color space using the extracted color distortion information, and performing the face extraction by extracting the skin color region using the determined skin color range. According to the method, the face is more accurately extracted by extracting the color distortion information of a still image or moving image when the image is given, and variably and automatically determining the skin color range suitable for the given image using the color distortion information.
