Abstract: A dual display type portable computer can include a first unit having a first display module and a second unit rotatably coupled to the first unit having a second display module. At least one hinge unit can couple the first unit and the second unit with each other. The hinge unit can be coupled to corresponding positions of the first unit and the second unit to enable the first display module and the second display module to overlap each other or to be unfolded until they are placed in an equal plane. Preferably, at least one of the first display module and the second display module has a touch screen function. Preferably, the touch screen function can selectively change a language of a keyboard image. The first display module and the second display module can display different images or divided portions of one integrated image.

Abstract: A Viterbi decoder includes an ACS unit that performs state metric updates for every symbol cycle. State metric updates involve adding the state metrics corresponding to a likely input symbol to the respective branch matrix, comparing the results of the additions to determine which is smaller, and selecting the smaller result for the next state metric. The ACS unit includes two parallel adders followed by a parallel comparator that generates a multiplexer-select signal. The outputs of the parallel adders are input into a multiplexer and the multiplexer-select signal is input into the multiplexer for a decision.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel apparatus and method for providing caller identification. Particularly, the present invention is configured to output caller identification to personal computer and to a terminal. These outputs are in response to a call received by the Caller ID system.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing signaling links in a signaling link set accommodates a plurality of signaling links having different data link formats in a signaling link set connecting adjacent signaling points. The method is preferably one which manages signaling links a signaling system No. 7 (SS7) network. This method includes adding one or more signaling links having different data link formats to a signaling link set of the SS7 network, and processing signal message transfer between adjacent signaling points through one or more main signaling links which have superior bandwidth compared with the added links. Through this method, it is possible to make a natural development of a signaling network possible, boost stability of signaling network by diversifying media for transfer simultaneously, and get economic effects in constructing a signaling network through re-using data links used previously.

The built-in type compressor/condenser unit includes a louver frame which is installed on an inner portion of an outer wall of a building, and which divided into a suction area and a discharge area each having a plurality of louver blades. A compressor/condenser casing is installed in contact with the louver frame, having its surface facing the suction area and the discharge area of the louver frame opened and the other surfaces closed. The compressor/condenser unit is divided into a suction unit and a discharge unit corresponding to the suction area and the discharge area of the louver frame. The louver frame includes an isolating means for isolating air between the suction area and the discharge area so as to prevent air discharged from the discharge unit thought the discharge area from being re-ingested into the suction unit through the suction area of the louver frame.

Abstract: A low power high-speed design for integrated circuits using BiCMOS processes is disclosed. The design uses a first stage including bipolar transistor pairs configured as inputs and drivers for an output. A second CMOS stage is coupled to the first stage in a series-gated configuration and receives clock or data inputs. A third stage is coupled to the second stage and is configured as a current source. The combination results in circuits that can operate at conventional supply voltages of 1.8 volts.

A plurality of individual answering mode setting buttons are provided and enable each user to individually set an automatic answering function. Abstract: There is disclosed a fabricating method of a plasma display panel which might simplify its fabricating process. The method includes: providing a sheet into which a black material layer and an electrode material layer are integrated, forming the sheet on a substrate, aligning a first mask on the front surface of a substrate where the sheet has been formed and exposing the sheet, aligning a second mask on the rear surface of the substrate and exposing the sheet, and developing the exposed sheet to form a bus electrode and a light shielding layer.

Abstract: A color quantization method based on an HMMD color space and a multimedia searching method using the same in extracting color features for searching multimedia, to enable searching of multimedia data which has been quantized on different levels. A quantization method is optimized to be proper for various quantization levels so as to increase search performance in an HMMD color space. And the interoperability between color features quantized into different quantization levels is provided so as to search multimedia generated from different application programs and in which a quantization rule is defined so as to maintain high search performance. Preferably, the present invention provides a color quantization method for various levels, thereby enabling to achieve high search performance on maintaining interoperability. The present invention provides a multimedia search method enabling to measure the similarity between features quantized into different levels.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for the transfer of voice traffic in a Voice over Digital Subscriber Line (VoDSL) gateway are disclosed, which are capable of transferring the voice traffic without use of a central processing unit (CPU). The gateway provides an interface between an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) network and a public switched telephone network (PSTN). The gateway includes a first ATM interface that communicates an ATM cell signal with the ATM network, a vocoder that communicates a voice signal with the PSTN by a channel, and a time division multiplex (TDM) bus that communicates a voice traffic signal between the first ATM interface and the vocoder.

A standby power supplier is for supplying the smoothed DC power to the video display apparatus as standby power, a main power supplier is for supplying the smoothed DC power to the video display apparatus as main power and a control unit is for controlling an operation of the harmonic suppressor.

A front panel is opened or closed by translating vertically when the slider moves back and forth. A lower end portion of the front panel is hinged upon a front end portion the slider. Projections that are protruded from both upper ends of the front panel are mounted inside generally vertical tracks of a front frame that is attached to a front of the main chassis.

Abstract: A video-on-demand (VOD) system and method which efficiently enables a user to resume viewing of a video program from an interrupted position is disclosed. The present invention allows the user to resume viewing of a video program even if the user requests a resumption of the interrupted video program several times or through different video servers. Particularly, the video viewing characteristic information of a user terminal is not managed by a video server of the VOD system, but is managed by the user terminal. Accordingly, when a user interrupts viewing of a video program, the video server transmits to the user terminal user profile information which includes the characteristic information related to the viewing of the video program. Thereafter, if the user requests resumption of the interrupted video program using the user profile information, the video server re-transmits the video program from the interrupted position of the video program.
