  • Patent number: 4150314
Abstract: A Wiegand wire forms part of a stator coil facing a rotor on which permanent magnets are located. The stator coil has two coil portions or coil sections which are wound or connected to provide opposing inductive outputs upon passage of the magnets in front of the coils to cancel each other, the Wiegand wire change of magnetization providing the additional read-out output, the amplitude of which will be independent of speed, but the recurrence rate will depend upon speed of the magnets passing the stator of transducer.

  • Patent number: 4148604
Abstract: The material is located at one side of the screen of a screen printing stencil, the other side of which has the reinforcing substance, for example curable plastic material, applied, uniformly distributed over the screen. To apply the substance to the material, the screen is located at the end of a closed pressure vessel into which the reinforcing substance is introduced and to which, further, controlled pneumatic pressure is applied when printing is desired, to flow the reinforcing substance through the openings of the screen, and bulge the screen outwardly, for example into contact with the material to be reinforced. After application of the material, the pressure is released, permitting the screen to return to normal position and spaced from the material.

  • Patent number: 4149212
Abstract: An encoding circuit is provided permitting energization of an electromagnetic unlocking solenoid if a series of push-button switches is operated in accordance with a predetermined code. The circuit includes a memory which stores the sequence of operation of the push-buttons in accordance with the code in form of a binary code word. A comparison or decision stage is connected to the memory, typically a shift register, and connected to the memory position of all the digits of the code associated with the specific lock of a binary 1 value, as well as all the digits of the code in a binary 0 value, the decision circuit controlling the unlocking solenoid only if both the binary 1 and binary 0 values stored in the memory upon sequential push-button operation conform to the code associated with the lock, and, simultaneously, a timing circuit energized upon initiation of the first properly coded push-button still provides a timing energization signal, or operating energy to the circuit.

  • Patent number: 4148357
Abstract: Two identically folded strips enclose an intermediate space accessible at e edges of the strip, and the fold cavities opening to the outside of the strip structure are closed off at the strip edges and covered by outside cover plates over their central portions, so that one medium may be caused to flow through each of the sets of outside fold cavities and a third medium through the intermediate space. The third medium flows countercurrent to the direction of flow of the other two. Modules of four such matrices utilize inlet and outlet ducts so that the two or four matrices in a compact modular structure can be structurally repeated in accordance with the number of modules desired in the particular application. The inlet and outlet ducts have tapering flow cross-sections.

  • Patent number: 4148256
Abstract: To prevent splashing off of water and ink emulsion from rollers in the inking system due to feedback of wetting water to the inking system, a roller of the inking system, preferably an ink supply roller accepting ink from a ductor roller, is associated with a return roller which accepts the water-ink emulsion, and a stripping arrangement which strips off that emulsion from the return roller returns the emulsion to the ink well or ink trough of the ink supply system. The stripping element may be the ductor roller itself, rotating in counter direction to rotation of the return roller, intermediate rollers in counter-rotation with respect to the ductor roller, or doctor blades, or the like.

  • Patent number: 4149159
Abstract: In a fire detection system, detectors of different sensitivities are arranged in pairs and the pairs of fire detectors are positioned at regular intervals along an elongated protection area, whereby detectors of one sensitivity alternating with detectors of the other sensitivity are connected via two line systems to a signal center which emits an alarm signal when an alarm signal is simultaneously received via both line systems. In use, for example in a vehicle tunnel, a more uniform response sensitivity is obtained along the protection area, accompanied by a decrease in the necessary number of fire detectors and a reduced tendency to false alarms.

  • Patent number: 4149118
Abstract: A reflector of an optical system has its position controlled by piezoelecc devices operating at three points of the reflector disposed at the apices of an equilateral triangle. These are driven by summing amplifiers each of which has an input to which a signal for producing displacement of the reflector without change of tilt is provided and one or more inputs connected to the output of a matrix circuit responsive to signals for producing tilt of the reflector about two mutually perpendicular axes both perpendicular to the direction of displacement produced by the previously mentioned inputs.

  • Patent number: 4147234
Abstract: The various air motors of a rock drilling rig are supplied with oil through oil lines which are furnished with predetermined metered oil flows from positive displacement pumps that are operated in synchronism with each other by an air operated oscillator. There is a normally closed shut-off valve in each oil line. The respective shut-off valve is opened when the respective air line is pressurized. When a shut-off valve is closed, the respective metered oil flow escapes through a pressure relief valve.

  • Patent number: 4148077
Abstract: A video disk recording made in accordance with U.S. television standards, namely a line scanning frequency of 15,734 HZ and a field scanning frequency of 30 HZ is played back through a pick-up feeding a television receiver operating at the European standard line scanning frequency of 15,625 HZ provided with a switch that has changed over the vertical scanning frequency to the 30 HZ U.S. standard field scanning frequency. In order for the playback system to work with the European line scanning frequency, the record drive is timed to operate at the proportionately low speed and the speed is held to the timing pulses produced by an oscillator by feeding back the picked up synchronizing signals and comparing them with the oscillator timing pulses in a phase detector that controls the speed adjustment of the playback motor.

  • Patent number: 4148079
Abstract: Timing errors are detected by phase comparison of the color carrier at the line scanning frequency repetition rate and the errors so successively determined for one oblique track on the tape are loaded into an intermediate register. While a second magnetic head of the reproducer performs the same operation on the next track, the errors stored in the intermediate register are subtracted from their average value produced by an integrator and loaded into a final storage register, of which there is one for each track of a line packet, but only after being combined, in a noise-scrubbing process, with an error value previously stored in a corresponding location in that register so as to provide a suitable moving average.
