  • Patent number: 6717503
Abstract: The coil and coil system is provided for integration in a microelecronic circuit. The coil is placed inside an oxide layer of a chip, and the oxide layer is placed on the substrate surface of a substrate. The coil comprises one or more windings, whereby the winding(s) is/are formed by at least segments of two conductor tracks, which are each provided in spatially spaced-apart metalization levels, and by via-contacts which connect these conductor track(s) and/or conductor track segments. In order to be able to produce high-quality coils, a coil is produced with the largest possible coil cross-section, whereby a standard metalization, especially a standard metalization using copper, can, however, be used for producing the oil. To this end, the via contacts are formed from a stack of two ore more via elements arranged one above the other. Parts of the metalization levels can be located between the via elements.

  • Patent number: 6716720
Abstract: A method is disclosed for filling a depression between two vertically adjoining semiconductor layers, in particular an edge depression arising in the context of an isolation trench formation. A covering layer, preferably made of silicon oxide, is deposited in a large-area manner and is then doped with doping material, preferably nitrogen, essentially right over the entire depth of the layer. The doping material provides for an increased rate of removal of the covering layer, so that, after the removal process, the covering layer material only remains in the depressions.

  • Patent number: 6715118
Abstract: In the configuration, the module can “learn” one or more time intervals from the external tester and then repeat them internally or compare them to its own internally measured time intervals, for instance, for the purpose of evaluating whether the module in question has crossed a time specification value or remains below the value. • Patent number: 6713364
Abstract: A method for fabricating an insulator on a semiconductor substrate such that the insulator has a low dielectric constant. A first interconnect and a second interconnect are configured on a semiconductor substrate. A conductive silicon is formed between the first interconnect and the second interconnect. The conductive silicon is anodically etched in a hydrofluoric-acid-containing electrolyte to convert the conductive silicon into porous silicon. The porous silicon is subsequently oxidized to form porous silicon oxide. With a dielectric constant of between 1.1 and 4, the porous silicon oxide has a lower dielectric constant than customary silicon oxide with 4.

  • Patent number: 6714613
Abstract: A device and method for regulating a sampling rate in a digital data transfer system includes transmitting a synchronizing word used for receiver-side regulation of the sampling rate at regular time intervals. The received signal is filtered by a rate-regulating criterion filter and is simultaneously detected to recognize the synchronizing word. The initial value of the rate-regulating criterion filter controls an adjusting logic for the sampling rate once the synchronizing word is recognized. A rate is formed for the initial value of the rate-regulating criterion filter and the rate undergoes high pass filtering before it is fed to the adjusting logic. An apparatus for controlling the sampling includes a clock control criterion filter, an adjustment logic device, a switch, an apparatus identifying the synchronization word, a magnitude formation circuit, and a high-pass filter. The formation circuit and the high-pass filter are disposed between the criterion filter and the logic device.

  • Patent number: 6711072
Abstract: A memory circuit contains areas having memory cells. To transfer memory data from/to the memory cells, two-wire local data lines are provided. Each of the local data lines is associated with one of the memory areas and is connected to a two-wire master data line, common to all the memory areas, by a line circuit-breaker. To represent the binary value of data on a local data line, the wires are driven, to first and second logic potentials. Each line circuit-breaker contains switching devices which, if one of the two wires in the local data line is at the second logic potential, autonomously transfer the potential to the associated wire in the master data line, and, if one of the two wires in the master data line is at the second logic potential, autonomously transfer the potential to the associated wire in the local data line.

  • Patent number: 6709876
Abstract: In a method for removing an organic material from semiconductor devices, at least one semiconductor device is inserted into a so-called piranha bath. Measurement data are processed to get a data curve for measuring a concentration of at least one reaction product. The measurement data is queried for at least one of a turning point, a local maximum point or a local minimum point of the curve each being significantly different from signal noise after removing the semiconductor device from the fluid. With the information it is decided whether further processing of the semiconductor device is needed. The method is suitable for detecting an incomplete removal of organic material, i.e. photoresist deposited on the processed semiconductor device.
