  • Patent number: 6742451
Abstract: A method of controlling the supply of ink in a printing machine wherein the ink is differently guided zonally on an ink-fountain roller transversely to the printing direction, and is transferred by a vibrator roller to a distributor roller, includes metering the ink zonally for counteracting ink transfer disturbances caused by a stroke movement of the distributor roller, so as to minimize the disturbances automatically to at least an effective extent; and a printing machine for performing the method.

  • Patent number: 6744662
Abstract: The form of leads of a cell array of a multiplicity of magnetic memory cells is optimized by deviating from a square cross section of the leads in such a way that the magnetic field component of the write currents lying in the cell array plane decreases sufficiently rapidly with increasing distance from the crossover point. The cell array is constructed from a matrix of the column leads and the row leads.

  • Patent number: 6739179
Abstract: A measuring device for determining the oxygen content in gases is described. The measuring device is disposed between two magnets that are positioned at a distance from one another. The measuring device is equipped with a sensor that is held rotatably within a frame. The sensor has two parallelepipedic bodies that are both made hollow or solid and are connected to one another via a web-shaped structural element. The web-shaped structural element is fastened to the frame via at least one holding element, so that the sensor can be rotated about its center of gravity. The amount of rotation is dependent on the quantity of oxygen that is concentrated between the two magnets. A current can be conducted through a conductor track led on the surface of the sensor and generates a correspondingly high restoring force by which the sensor is brought into the position of rest again.

  • Patent number: 6741865
Abstract: In the digital multi-subscriber radio telecommunication system which operates using frequency hopping technology and is intended for use in the 2.4 GHz ISM (Industrial Scientific and Medical) frequency band, in which a 20 dB channel bandwidth of a maximum of 1 MHz is prescribed, the known, DECT radio system operating using TDMA/FDMA technology is matched, in RF terms, to the ISM band and is modified such that the data transfer rate is reduced, preferably halved, by comparison with the data transfer rate of 1152 kbit/s, which is prescribed as standard for DECT. The system according to the invention can be used in cordless telephones.

  • Patent number: 6741567
Abstract: Optimum use is made of a currently available data connection capacity for data signal connections between data terminals, which are connected to a circuit-switched switching center, and/or between these data terminals and a data network, in particular the Internet data network, which is connected to the switching center. For the purpose of making optimum use of the currently available transmission capacity for traffic loads on the switching center, additional transmission capacity to that which is available for normal connections is provided below a first threshold V1. If the traffic load exceeds the first threshold V1, the provision of additional transmission capacity for new data signal connections stops. If the traffic load undershoots a second threshold V2, which may be the same as the first threshold V1, additional transmission capacity for new data signal connections is provided again.

  • Patent number: 6741491
Abstract: An integrated dynamic memory has word lines and bit lines as well as at least one global bit line, which is disposed in the memory cell array in the same sense as the bit lines. A voltage amplifier is connected to one of the bit lines for amplification of a data signal to a first voltage level which is not sufficient for writing the data signal back to the selected memory cell, and for outputting the amplified data signal to the global bit line. The global bit line is connected to a read amplifier for amplification of the data signal to a second voltage level that, in contrast, is sufficient for writing back the data signal. The hierarchical amplification concept allows rapid and reliable amplification of data signals that are to be read out, even if the integration density of the memory cells is high.

  • Patent number: 6737692
Abstract: A method for improving the adhesion between a noble metal layer and an insulation layer includes configuring a silicon layer between the noble metal layer and the insulation layer. The silicon layer is siliconized and oxidized by a thermal treatment in an oxidative environment, resulting in an oxidized silicide layer with high intermixing of the noble metal and the formed oxide. The relatively large inner surface achieved as a result improves the adhesion between the noble metal layer and the insulation layer.

  • Patent number: 6734695
Abstract: A method and a semiconductor component are described in which an internal voltage to be measured is divided via a matched voltage divider, and is passed to a selected connecting pin. Since there are normally no unused connecting pins, in, for example, present-day large scale integrated components, the connected module is disconnected from a selected connecting pin for a specific time period, and the divided measurement voltage is passed to the connecting pin. This is done by use of a controller, which operates appropriate switches. This method is preferably used for memory components such as DRAM, SRAM etc.

  • Patent number: 6734063
Abstract: Memory cell transistors with back-channel isolation are produced without using an SOI substrate. With the word line stack acting as a mask, the semiconductor material is etched on both sides of the world line, first anisotropically and then isotropically to widen the etch hole and form an undercut beneath the gate electrode and at a distance from the ONO storage layer forming the gate dielectric. The undercut is filled, whereby a buried oxide layer of at least 20 nm maximum thickness is formed underneath the channel region. The latter is p-doped at a density of at least 1017 cm−3.
