  • Patent number: 4374878
Abstract: A tubular premoulding of a thermoplastic, suitable for subsequent shaping to produce containers by a rolling process. The material in a part of a tube is axially oriented as a result of reducing the wall thickness by applying an external pressure which causes the material to flow. The oriented material is moulded by a blow-moulding process into future mouth parts and parts of adjacent neck sections, preferably from two blank parts, joined to one another, of pre-mouldings, the blank parts in the transition between the two mouth parts being severed in order to form two separate blank parts, so that, after closing one end and, if necessary, reworking in order to obtain the requisite closing faces at the other end, the two blank parts each form a tubular pre-moulding.

  • Patent number: 4374166
Abstract: The invention relates to an element of a thermoplastic of the polyester or polyamide type, and preferably of polyethylene terephthalate, the element consisting of an edge part which surrounds a body in an arrangement in which the latter is sunk relative to the edge part. The element is formed from a blank of mainly amorphous material or from a material having a crystallinity of less than 10%, the blank being, for example, a flat plate, a blank shell or the like. The body or parts thereof are shaped by stretching the blank until that material which is located within the material sections of the blank flows to from the edge part in the element, the material stretched to flowing in the body assuming a crystallinity of between 10 and 25%, while the crystallinity in the material in the edge part and in the unstretched parts retaining its original value of less than 10%. There is also disclosed a process and equipment for manufacturing the element.

  • Patent number: 4367383
Abstract: A push-button mechanism, for example, for a telephone instrument of the type which from a first stable initial position of the push-button is locked in a second stable position when depressed and returns to the initial position when again depressed. The push-button mechanism contains a push-button, a rectangular body part and a cover which includes contact elements. A locking device inside the cover consists of a movably disposed plate one surface of which is constructed with a cavity in the form of a heart-shaped cam and with a concave-convex elevated part in the center of the cavity. A ball is located in a groove in the lower part of the push-button and runs along the outline of the heart-shaped cam and along the edges of the elevated part when the button is depressed.

  • Patent number: 4365907
Abstract: A fastening device is disclosed for joining two members, for example tubular members, together, one of the members having a recess in an end which is to abut the other member. The device includes wedge elements which are moved relative to one another to engage opposed internal walls of the recess in the one member so that by attaching one of the wedge elements to the other member the members are secured to one another. Deformable links interconnect the wedge elements to initially retain the elements in their operative positions but to subsequently deform when relative movement is produced between the elements.

  • Patent number: 4365642
Abstract: An applicator for mascara eyebrow lotion or the like comprising a handle having a stem at the free end of which is an applicator. The applicator comprises a flexible tape element secured to the stem and carrying a plurality of filaments projecting from the tape element and a comb. The filaments are of hook-shape and are oriented randomly on the tape element and they are adapted to hold a quantity of liquid by surface tension of the liquid. The comb extends longitudinally along the stem and is preferably formed by securing the edges of the tape element together so that they project radially from the stem.

  • Patent number: 4364475
Abstract: A tray and its method of formation for supporting card-like articles in juxtaposed relation therein comprising a one-piece body of plastic material molded in flat form with a base, a pair of opposite side parts and a pair of opposite end parts. The side parts and end parts are joined to the base by fold lines about which the parts can be upfolded to form side walls and end walls for the tray. The end walls have tabs at their lateral edges and the side walls are formed with slots which receive the tabs when the walls are in upfolded condition. The end walls form an angle with the vertical in the secured position and the lateral edges are engaged between pairs of ribs formed on the side walls.

  • Patent number: 4365118
Abstract: The connection arrangement according to the present invention is primarily intended to connect a loudspeaking device instead of the normal lowspeaking device (receiver in the handset) in a telephone instrument of the "DIAVOX" type. The arrangement includes an extra push button (1) mounted on a circuit card (22) in the instrument. A cam shaft relay (4, 5), known per se, is mounted near the push button support (1e) and on the card. The cam shaft relay is provided with a control member (5) having a first position which corresponds to the rest state of the instrument. Under the influence of the hook switch plunger (18) of the instrument, the control member (5) can be set to a second position corresponding to the lowspeaking state. The push button is provided with tipping element (2) which, when the button is depressed, actuates the control member (5) to set it to a third position corresponding to the loudspeaking state of the instrument.

  • Patent number: 4360926
Abstract: In a digital phase-locked loop, preferably for bit rate regeneration in synchronous data transmission systems, transmitting from a sender to a receiver redundantly coded information possibly modulated in a suitable mode there is an addition circuit connected to one control input of a digital controlled oscillator incorporated in the loop. The addition circuit adds control signal contributions from a phase comparator circuit of the loop and an error detector. This error detector is connected to an output of the receiver data detector, and examines whether the input signal in the circuit has the inherent redundant properties expected taking into account the signal coding. When this is not the case, a pulse-shaped control signal is fed to the addition circuit.

  • Patent number: 4354658
Abstract: A hot top consists of a number of sheets of insulating fibrous material. The principally vertical walls of the hot top consist of a number of sheets located close to and joined to one another. When the hot top is placed in an ingot mould, these sheets cover the upper part of the ingot mould walls. The hot top has an upper confinement consisting of one or more sheets of insulating fibrous material which cover the opening formed by the vertical sheets. One or more containers holding additives used in casting are arranged in the space under the confinement. In one preferred embodiment, the walls of the hot top, the upper confinement of the hot top and the hot top containers holding additives form a single unit matched to the dimensions of the ingot mould, so that in a preferred embodiment, the unit is assembled before the hot top is inserted into the ingot mould.

  • Patent number: 4354231
Abstract: Instructions which are read from a program memory of a control computer employing indirect addressing of a data memory are stored temporarily and sequentially in a buffer memory to form an execution queue. The absolute address to the data memory is generated by an address calculator by means of a base address derived from a reference memory in correspondence to an input address and by means of at least one address parameter which has been recorded in a register memory in connection with the execution of an instruction read from the buffer memory and transferred to a parameter register prior to the address calculation. In addition to each instruction, information is recorded in the buffer memory to indicate on the one hand whether the instruction is of the type which performs a write or read operation in the data memory and on the other hand whether it is of the type which enters address parameters in the register memory.
