Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for the early detection of fire and for fighting fire indoors and outdoors, especially in living areas, of homes and buildings. According to the invention, a central freely programmable domestic control block comprising an intelligent bus system, sensors, and actuators controls, regulates and monitors the domestic technical system and, at the same time, sensors detect the direct and indirect fire characteristics, which are monitored by a separate check, control and regulating block that activates an extinguishing agent supply system when a set value has been exceeded. The aim of the invention is to improve a method and device of the aforementioned type such that the extinguishing agent is variably and selectively discharged with a high degree of efficacy by the provision of a system which can be modularly integrated in the security design of a building.

Abstract: Phytopharmaceutical food products which contain plant extracts and aminoacids and which can be used in order to reduce tobacco smoke addiction.
Abstract: A front closure for a brassiere which is invisible in the connected state of the front flaps of the brassiere has two closure halves each with a semielliptical plate and one with an annular formation and the other with a lug snap fitted into the annular formation. Outwardly of the annular formation and the lug, the plates form sewing flanges which can be stitched through to attach fastener halves to the brassiere halves, e.g. with a zigzag stitching.
Abstract: Rail mounting assembly of the type in which a top plate is secured to a frame by an elastomer body surrounding the top plate and bonded to both the top plate and the frame. The rounded ends of the top plate and frame receive the elastomer in gaps between downwardly and inwardly inclined surfaces while the elastomer between the longitudinal flanks of the frame and top plate has downwardly open voids which are narrower toward the end of the top plate and wider at a midpoint.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the steam misting of rectangular nozzles and spinning systems equipped therewith for producing polyamide filaments whereby the steam feed is conducted through a tube loop which is passed through the heating chamber of the spinning beam so that the steam is brought to the spinning temperature. Directly below the spinning beam and thus on the lower edge of the rectangular nozzle stack which is connected thereto, between the spinning beam and the after-heater, steam outlet bars are longitudinally applied. These steam outlet bars are equipped with a simple labyrinth for pressure equalization. The steam inlet is effected initially in each case centrally of the rectangular nozzle stack and transitions into an upwardly open and relatively broad distribution chamber along the rectangular nozzle stack. This vertical distribution chamber transitions into a horizontal and very small gap which is open into the spinning chamber at its mouth.
Abstract: A knife has a blade-carrying blade slide and a separate actuator slide, both urged by springs into rear positions. A transversely displaceable coupling member on one of the slides is engageable with the other of the slides for coupling the blade slide with the actuator slide for movement of the blade slide from its retracted position into its intermediate position on displacement of the actuator slide from its rear end position into its front end position and for decoupling the slides from each other and shifting transversely out of a path of the other slide on movement of the blade slide from its intermediate position into its extended position. Cam formations on the slides displace the blade slide into the extended position on exertion of a transverse force against the blade edge in the intermediate position of the blade.
Abstract: The invention relates to a packing for heat- and material-exchange columns, with a number of approximately perpendicularly arranged corrugated plates (or strips), with the side surfaces thereof lying adjacent to each other. The ribs of the above lie very close to each other and run from top to bottom, in the approximate form of an arc, whereby the ribs of two adjacent plates cross each other and the ribs in the upper region of a plate are straight and inclined to the upper, in particular, horizontal place are straight and inclined to the upper, in particular, horizontal plate edge and, in the lower region of the plate, run bent in the form of an arc.

Abstract: The invention relates to a prosthetic mitral heart valve consisting of a support housing (10) comprising a base ring (15) supporting two posts which point essentially in the direction of the ring axis and which are connected by arc-shaped walls (13, 14), these walls being used to fix two flexible leaflets. The free ends of said posts form an inner support for the leaflet. The base ring, as seen from above, has a closed, noncircular shape with a common longitudinal axis but two different-sized semi lateral axes. The posts lie on the longitudinal axis and form the transitional point from one half of the shape to the other.
Abstract: At the end of an array of rollers of a spreading head for wood particles for the production of mats to form particleboard, rollers of the array are driven at a higher speed than the rollers of the fine-particle spreading portion and baffles are provided below the higher speed rollers to scatter the particles backwardly into the fine-particle region and form an intimate mixture of the coarse and fine particles.

Abstract: A gas stove burner has a base defining an axis and a ring assembly sitting on the base, forming therewith an annular outer compartment and a central inner compartment, and formed with an array of outwardly open lower passages open radially inward into the outer compartment. A generally imperforate cover disk overlying the ring assembly has an outer edge, upwardly closes the inner compartment, and forms with the ring assembly an array of upper passages open radially inward into the inner compartment and radially outward at the disk outer edge. Inlets on the base feed respective gas/air mixtures to the compartments and form a main flame at the edge from the mixture exiting the lower passages and a simmer flame at the edge from the mixture exiting the upper passages.
Abstract: A smoothing roll for an apparatus for smoothing plastic foils and plates is driven directly by a rotor coaxially received with a stator in an outer housing with the rotor supported by a bearing on the outer housing or on a part of the housing extending coaxially into the rotor. The vibration-free arrangement eliminates chatter marks on the smoothed product.
Abstract: Partitions for columns for the separation of components or chemical reactions are assembled from plates or wall elements provided with plug and clamp connectors along respective edges and formed by strips so that the partitions can be easily and safely assembled and disassembled.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for distributing liquid media, in particular extinguishing fluids. The aim of the invention is to provide a method and a device of the aforementioned type which can be used to produce a fine mist of small droplets and a jet spray of large droplets at separate moments, at approximately the same operating pressure of the extinguishing fluid, depending on the outbreak and the development of the fire, whilst at the same time minimising water consumption, reducing water damage caused during a fire and increasing cost-effectiveness, by creating a modular system which can be universally installed. To achieve this, the intensity of the vortex and the proportion of fine or large droplets in the spray cone is adjusted by regulating the quantity and speed of the flow during the distribution of the extinguishing fluid in at least two sub-streams and by combining said sub-streams with at least one additional sub-stream.
