Abstract: During an initial pressure application on a light waveguide with a coating, which waveguide is subjected to a flexional coupling, deformation of the coating will occur and the value of an outfed light from the light waveguide will change as the deformation changes. The final intensity of the outfed light is obtained during the deformation of the coating by a process of extrapolating the final value from the initial measured values occurring during the initial deformation of the coating.
Abstract: A personal ornament (1) is formed by fitting separately molded ornamental members (3) to a personal ornament body (2). The personal ornament body (2) has a space (4 of 9) formed therein at a place where the ornamental members (3) are to be fitted, and space (4 or 9) having engaging portions or members (5) formed therein so as to extend transversely therein. Each of the ornamental members (3) has ridges (8) formed integrally on the rear surface thereof and adapted to be fitted in the space (4 or 9) , and legs (7) also formed integrally on the rear surface thereof and each being adapted to engage with each of the engaging portions or members (5) in a snap fit fashion. The arrangement is made such that the configuration of the ornamental members (3) to be fitted to the personal ornament body (2) is larger than that of the space (4 or 9).
Abstract: What is required for the arrangement of modules (11) on a module carrier (13), for example in an optical character generator (1), is that the modules (11) be positively and non-positively fixed on the module carrier (13), particularly given the occurrence of thermal expansions. In accord with the invention, a fastening means (7) is provided for that purpose that is arranged in a bore (135, 135) inclined relative to the contacting surface of the module (11) and of the module carrier (13) and thereby detachably fastens the module on the module carrier (13). Arrangement for detachably fastening modules (11) on a module carrier (13), particularly for the character generator (1) of a non-mechanical printer.

Abstract: A distributor strip is composed of an underpart housing and of a contact part housing mechanically joined thereto. The contact part housing contains the contact parts of the contacts belonging to the line leads in corresponding receptacle chambers. The mechanical joining of the housing parts occurs with the assistance of a plurality of cache elements arranged in a row. Guide elements that engage at the cooperating shape-matched to one another upon joining at present at the end-face limiting wall surface. An accurate guidance of the contact part housing to be introduced and, therefore, a secured position of this housing relative to the cache elements are therefore effected when the two housing parts are joined, for example given the utilization of what are referred to as channel and spring elements. This pre-centering also secures the adhesion of the two housing parts, particularly when such cache elements are present exclusively at one elongate side.
Abstract: A threaded connection structure for rotatably connecting and disconnecting adjoining members including a female member having annular internal pitched threads and a male member for threading into the female member having outer threads complemental to the threads of the female member with raised areas along the axial faces of the threads of one of said members to cause areas of concentration of unit pressure between the threads so that unwanted rotation and unwanted unthreading is prevented. A flange is provided on one member to engage a shoulder on the other member for continued axial surface pressure of the raised areas.
Abstract: A lockable slider for a slide fastener is disclosed which essentially comprises a slider body having a conneting neck or diamond and including an upper and a lower wing member defining therebetween a guide channel for the passage of slide fastener stringers and a locking member resiliently supported within the slider body. A switching means including a cam is provided for alternately locking and unlocking the slider with respect to the slide fastener, the cam being engageable with the locking member to move its locking prong portion away from the guide channel.
Abstract: A centrifugal solid bowl worm separator having an outer cylindrical drum and an inner rotatable worm with helical flights on the outer surface with the drum arranged to receive a material to be separated in light and heavy fractions or phases and the mechanism provides for a method of injecting and mixing a fluidizing substance into the heavy fraction material within the drum before it leaves the drum to mix with the heavy fraction within the drum. The fluidizing substance lowers the density of the heavy fraction to enable its discharge by the worm flights. The hydraulic pressure of the liquid helps push the heavy fraction out of the separator which prevents a reverse flow and intermixing of the heavy fraction with the liquid fraction.
Abstract: According to a first feature of the present invention, an image reading apparatus is disclosed in which image data read from an image document by an imaging reading device are called into an image memory. An output signal from a character generator for generating a character in the form of an indicator is superimposed on the image data to provide a display signal. Any desired portion of the image data displayed on a display device is indicated by the character in the form of the indicator, that is a so-called pointer. According to a second feature, the display position of the character is moved in synchronism with shifting of the data reading region from the image memory or so-called scrolling to prevent the character display position from being deviated with respect to the contents of the displayed image.
Abstract: An automatic tracking system for a magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus is provided means for varying a phase relationship between a magnetic head and a recording track and for monitoring the level of signals reproduced by a magnetic head at various phase relationships, and means for detecting an optimal point which is centroid of the reproduced signal levels. The automatic tracking system further includes means for controlling a tape feed speed so as to establish the phase relationship of the magnetic head and the recording track, which phase relationship corresponds to an optimal phase relationship.
Abstract: A programmable delay circuit comprising input terminals supplied with input signals to be delayed; output terminals for delivering the delayed signals therefrom; resistance elements inserted between the input terminals and the output terminals; n-stage capacitance elements having capacitance values of C, ZC, 4C . . . 2.sup.n-1 C respectively (where C is a unit capacitance value) and each connected at one end thereof to the output ends of the resistance elements; and n-stage selection means for selectively applyign to the other ends of the n-stage capacitance elements either a signal having an opposite-phase or in-phase relation to the input signal, or a reference potential level. The delay circuit is capable of performing a control operation relative to any short delay time on the order of picosecond and still ensuring satisfactory linearity in the delay characteristics.
Abstract: There is provided a remote commander, or remote control of a remotely-controlled apparatus in which transmission data of another remote commander (2) is stored in a memory of the remote commander that belongs to a main body and the thus stored transmission data is transmitted again. In this remote commander, transmission data of the other remote commander (2) is stored in a RAM (1) as user remote control data, transmission data of the remote commander that belongs to the main body is stored in a ROM (3) as original remote control data and the original remote control data and the user remote control data are selected by switching means (4). Thus, the remote commander becomes more useful.

Abstract: Clock supply for multiplex systems for distributing at least one system clock signal and at least one frame clock signal, whereby a marking circuit is provided to which both clock signals are provided and that generates a combined system-frame clock signal by marking the system clock signal. This combined system-frame clock signal is transmitted on a single clock line and being separated in turn into the system clock signal and the frame clock signal by a separating circuit.
Abstract: A boat docking system having a V-shaped horizontal floating structure held together by two underwater bents. The structure is constructed of two flexible fiberglass rods which allows the structure to open up and conform to a shape of a boat inserted into the V-shape. The two bents acts as spring clips to open up the V-shape against resilient force, and to thereafter close around the contour of the boat. The V-shape structure is floated intermittently by tubular foam buoys fixed along lengths of the V-shape structure. A strut anchored to the dock at one end and attached to the V-shape structure at another end with a sliding joint gives stability to the floating structure as well as provides the proper distance during docking of the boat to the walkway.

Abstract: Integrated circuit housing composed of three coated dielectric plates. The integrated circuit housing with the three coated dielectric plates has a signal plane, a supply voltage plane and ground planes. Signal lines located in the signal plane are fashioned as triplate lines and for a reflection-free termination of the signal lines integrated resistors are provided in the signal plane. The supply voltage plane is insulated from the two surrounding ground planes by a coating of dielectric material.
Abstract: A motion detecting circuit separates picture data of one frame into a plurality of image segments. The circuit includes a first memory for receiving picture data of current frame image and a second memory for receiving picture data of a previous or one frame delayed image. Each of the first and second memories comprises a plurality of memory areas separated into two blocks, and each individual memory area is adapted to store picture data for one image segment. The two memory blocks are operative in alternating fashion in reading and writing picture data. A plurality of arithmetic circuits are associated with the memory area to receive therefrom the picture data of each image segment and to process the received picture data for deriving a motion vector of each individual image segment.
Abstract: A photoresist system that is easily structurable and, in particular, is suitable for the deep ultraviolet range is provided. An increased etching resistance to a halogen-containing plasma is produced in a lithographically generated photoresist structure by treatment with a reactant. The reactant comprises predominantly aromatic structures and includes reactive groups that are suitable for chemical reaction with further reactable groups of the photoresist. In an embodiment, the photoresist includes anhydride or epoxy groups that are suitable for structuring with deep ultraviolet light.
Abstract: A battery including a sealing member 10 for sealing an opening 7 of a battery housing 1, a current collecting pin 5 press-fitted in a through hole 11 formed through the sealing member 10, and a reinforcing member 20 for reinforcing the sealing member 10. The reinforcing member 20 is constituted of a thick-walled portion 21 for covering an outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical portion 12 of the sealing member 10 forming the through hole 11 and a disk portion 22 extending radially outwardly from the thick-walled portion 21. A space 8 is defined between the sealing member 10 and the reinforcing member 20, and a thin-walled portion 13 for preventing an increase in internal pressure in the battery housing 1 is formed in the sealing member 10 at a position opposed to the space 8. The sealing member 10 is reinforced by the thick-walled portion 21 to thereby prevent generation of cracks in the sealing member 10 and electrolyte leakage accompanied thereby.
