Abstract: Integrated circuit housing composed of three coated dielectric plates. The integrated circuit housing with the three coated dielectric plates has a signal plane, a supply voltage plane and ground planes. Signal lines located in the signal plane are fashioned as triplate lines and for a reflection-free termination of the signal lines integrated resistors are provided in the signal plane. The supply voltage plane is insulated from the two surrounding ground planes by a coating of dielectric material.
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for automatically serging a trouser-fly piece initially along an arcuate line of stitching extending across its leading end while tracing and trimming that arcuate line in advance of serging and thereafter continuing to serge along a straight line of stitching extending parallel to one longitudinal substantially straight side edge of the trouser-fly piece. The apparatus incorporates control means including a control counter and a delay counter both operatively associated with the operation of a sewing needle so as to ensure serging of the trouser-fly piece over its full length with accurate and uniform finishing.
Abstract: A composite envelope composed of a heat-shrinkable foil with a reinforcing layer containing tear-resistant fibers. The reinforcing layer is formed of a material which will melt below or at the temperature to which the heat-shrinkable foil is heated to stretch the foil and cause it to shrink back to its original condition so that the tear-resistant fibers are free to move in the melted material. Preferably, the composite is formed by providing carrier elements either having the fibers wrapped thereon or contained therein and assembling them with the shrinkable foil, heating to a stretching temperature to cause a melting of the carrier elements and stretching the foil at that temperature to create the memory and then holding the stretching forces until the foil has cooled to solidify the material of the carrier elements to form the reinforcing layer.
Abstract: A fine pattern formation using an electron beam induced resist, and use of the resist in making semiconductor devices are disclosed. Collimated electron beam is irradiated and scanned along a desired pattern on a layer on which a resist layer of a desired pattern is deposited under an atmosphere containing a starting material layer for the resist. The resist thus deposited is partially removed by reactive ion etching to remove the skirt like portion of the resist layer, or totally removed by reactive ion etching during or after processing by using the resist layer as a processing mask. Since the resist layer width is determined by a diameter of the collimated electron beam, line width of less than hundred .ANG. can be directly drawn. There are also disclosed processes using the resist layer in manufacturing semiconductor devices.
Abstract: A substrate bias generator for supplying a predetermined substrate bias voltage to a semiconductor device includes a charge circuit in which there is provided a rectifying pMOS transistor formed in an n-well. The n-well is maintained at a negative voltage level during the pumping operation. As a result, the threshold voltage of the rectifying pMOS transistor is prevented from increasing to enable the bias volatge to be supplied at a higher efficiency.
Abstract: A method for internally cleaning a powder-carrying hose conduit of an electrostatic powder coating system between changes in powder color. A granule/air stream is conducted through the hose to be cleaned, and the granules are returned for re-use after they emerge from the hose.
Abstract: An apparatus with a crucible in an effusion cell of a molecular beam epitaxy system provides the crucible shaped and mounted in such a way that the molecular beam is optimized relative to the substrate. In particular, when a circular substrate is tilted relative to the beam direction, the shape of the crucible, of the crucible mount, and the alignment of the center axis of the crucible relative to the center axis of the cell are adapted to optimize the beam impingement on the substrate.

Abstract: A defibrillator has a storage capacitor and a coil which are adapted for connection to biological tissue to form an RLC circuit through which a signal is discharged to the biological tissue. A measuring stage is coupled to the RLC circuit via a transformer for measuring selected characteristics of the signal. The coil is formed by a primary winding of the transformer, the primary winding thus providing the inductance for the RLC circuit. By incorporating the function of the coil into the transformer, the space necessary for a separate component is avoided and the overall structure can be made smaller.
Abstract: A data transfer system for transmitting information from a portable device to at least one outside reading device, the portable device having first memory, the first memory storing the information which comprises a plurality of data blocks involving an error check data, the outside reading device reading the data blocks corrected by the error check data which is transmitted from the portable device.
Abstract: A thyristor having low-reflection light-triggering structure. In a light-triggerable thyristor, pyramidal depressions are formed in a simple manner by a preferred etching method, being formed in the region of the photon entry face in order to produce a low-reflection light-triggering structure. Incident light is absorbed in the pyramidal depressions largely independent of the wavelength of the incident light and nearly completely. The low-reflection light-triggering structure thereby produced can be formed with relatively little outlay. This is especially true when a defined overhead ignition voltage is simultaneously set by the pyramidal depressions.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a fold line in a sheet of semi-rigid thermoplastic material including supporting the sheet on cylindrical rollers as the sheet is drawn forwardly along the creasing path through a creasing zone and applying a sequence of heated creasing rollers with each roller penetrating the surface of the sheet an increasing amount and immediately following the creasing by a caliper roller having shoulders for flattening the shoulders in the plastic formed beside the crease.

Abstract: A logic circuit which can operate to form a logic AND signal of a predetermined voltage level in accordance with a potential difference between a plurality of input signals using a collector dot AND circuit and a latched comparator circuit without the necessity of provision of a NOT circuit or a level shifting circuit at a preceding stage to the logic circuit. The logic circuit comprises a collector dot AND circuit, a logic level outputting circuit and a plurality of emitter follower circuits. Output electrodes of those of the emitter followers which are connected to receive NOT signals of input signals developed from the collector dot AND circuit are coupled commonly to form a wired OR circuit, and an output of the wired OR circuit is supplied to a transistor of the logic level outputting circuit connected to receive a logic AND signal of the input signals developed from the collector dot AND circuit so as to form a NOT signal of the logic AND signal.
Abstract: A coating for applying to a front side of a substrate, which side is facing an observer, comprises a four-layer system which is optically effective and has a high anti-reflective effect. A first layer of this system is applied onto the front side of the substrate and is, preferably, a highly-refracting TiO.sub.2 layer, the second layer is applied to the first layer and is a low-refracting Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 layer, a third layer of the system is applied to the second layer and is, preferably, a high-refracting TiO.sub.2, while the fourth layer applied to the third layer is, preferably, a low-refracting SiO.sub.2 layer. The layers can be formed by either a pyrolytic method, a plasma-supported chemical vapor deposition method, a sputtering method or a chemical vapor deposition method. Preferably, they are formed by a DC-reactive sputtering method with a magnetron.

Abstract: A method for the passivation of crystal defects in polycrystalline or amorphous silicon material using a temperature treatment step in a hydrogen-containing atmosphere the method results in favorable diode properties and favorable passivation properties in amorphous or, respectively, polycrystalline silicon material in a simple manner. Hydrogen-oxygen compounds are reduced at the surface of the silicon material, creating atomic hydrogen that diffuses into the silicon material.
