Abstract: New controlled retracting gasifying agent injection point process for UCG sites.The process consists of a retraction of the gasifying agent injection point achieved by gradually plugging the tubing ends either by pneumatic injection of inert granulated material with a thermosetting binder, or by closing valves set at regular intervals inside the tubings.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel optically active or racemic tetrahydro-1,2,4-oxadiazine-5-thione derivatives of the formula ##STR1## methods for their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions comprising the said compounds as active ingredients and a method for the anticonvulsive treatment of mammals, especially human beings.The compounds of the formula I have as good activity as diphenyl hydantoine but their toxicity is much lower.

Abstract: A start and shift clutch arrangement for motor vehicles with a disk clutch which during the sliding or friction generating phase is supplied with lubricating and cooling oil, and which runs dry when fully engaged or disengaged. The disk clutch is flooded in the area of the outer disks, whereby the maximum filling is limited by a first standpipe, and rapid emptying takes place via a second standpipe in conjunction with a control valve. Particularly advantageous is a self-contained lubricating system, which fills the clutch space during the sliding phase via an oil reservoir and an accumulator by a timed solenoid valve, utilizing compressed air. The accumulator equipped with a piston effects thereby alternately its own filling, and that of the clutch space.

Abstract: A sun-tanning apparatus has a supporting or bed surface and a plurality of low-pressure UV-A tubes arranged parallel to and at a distance from each other as radiation generators in a housing of the apparatus, the UV-A tubes being installed in a trough-like reflector and being covered on top by the supporting surface that rests on the side walls of the housing and which permits the passage of UA-V radiation. A largely even and flat radiation outlet is provided immediately above the supporting surface by using spacers arranged over the length and/or breadth of the apparatus between the low-pressure UA-V tubes, the supporting surface resting on the upper ends of said spacers, the lower ends of said spacers being attached in or on the base of the reflector. The spacers are a plurality of stand-off bolts that are distributed over the length and breadth of the apparatus, the supporting surface resting on the upper ends of the bolts, the lower ends of the bolts being secured in the base of the reflector.

Abstract: The invention relates to a novel process for the preparation of partially new 2-halonicergoline derivatives of the formula (I), ##STR1## wherein X stands for chlorine, bromine or iodine atom, as well as their acid addition salts.The process of the invention comprises esterifying a novel 2-halo-1-methyllumilysergol of the formula (II), ##STR2## wherein X is the same as defined above, or an acid addition salt thereof and, if desired, converting the thus-obtained 2-halonicergoline derivative of the formula (I) to an acid addition salt.The compounds of the invention improve the cognitive function of the brain and show an antihypoxic as well as a strong .alpha.-adrenerg blocking and calcium-antagonistic action.

Abstract: For supporting a sheet-metal article which rests on a die and which executes an upward pivoting movement during the pressing operation, a vertically movable supporting unit is provided. The movement of the latter is coordinated with the ram movement and executed at a speed which is in a specific ratio to the speed of the ram. This ratio corresponds to the ratio of the distance between the support and the die edge facing it to half the die width.

Abstract: The spinning or twisting machine comprises a plurality of drafting rolls, a plurality of associated spindles and positioned between them a plurality of yarn breaking devices pivotable between an upright spinning machine operating position into a yarn breaking position. According to our invention the yarn breaking device is movable by a positioning device from its yarn breaking position into an operating position.

Abstract: The container communicates through an outlet, which is adapted to be closed with a lock chamber, which is adapted to be emptied and is provided with a pressure-relief valve. When it is desired to empty the lock chamber the volume which is available in the lock chamber for the gas is initially increased so that the pressure in the lock chamber is reduced. Thereafter the lock chamber is opened.

Abstract: This invention relates to a control system for heat supply as hot water from nuclear power plants equipped with condensation units. This leads to the increased efficiency of the nuclear power plant on the basis of heat extraction from the turbine and its utilization for district heating with hot water as agent. The system requires a turbine nonadjustable bleeding through which a steam flow is extracted. A flow nozzle for steam flow measurement is provided on the steam transport line, a pressure transducer which sends a signal to a comparing and control unit which receives also a signal from another pressure transducer located on the turbine first stage. The comparing and control unit actuates the motorized steam and condensate valves, performing the turbine protection in case that the steam flow extracted at the nonadjustable bleeding exceeds the allowed limit.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for automatically replacing emptying yarn spools at a spinning machine, especially ring spinning machines, which machines include a spool frame and a plurality of spinning stations, wherein full spools are brought to and empty spools are moved away from the spinning stations. Full spools are arranged along the spool frame of the spinning machine in at least one magazine row, either individually, or a plurality thereof in sections, and the magazine row in the region of the first emptying spool, or section of spools, includes an empty location. This empty or bypass location is intermittently along the magazine row.

Abstract: A hot water tank is provided for use in beverage dispensing machines which comprises a cover, a discharge valve for hot water, an inlet valve for fresh water, a heating system, controlling means for observing water temperature and water level, an overflow opening communicating with the atmosphere, and an overflow edge extending between the cover and the water level along an external wall of the tank. The overflow opening is covered by means of an automatically closing valve element in the form of a plate. One side of the valve element is swingably fastened to the cover. There is also a ventilating hole provided in the cover, the hole being substantially smaller than the overflow opening.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for height or level-positioning of rolls in rolling mill frames, for adapting the upper edge of the lower working roll to the rolling plane, and for changing the rolls, expecially in four-high mills equipped with a roll changing cart which can travel in the longitudinal direction of the rolls, and equipped with interchangeable shim plates of various individual thicknesses for supporting the holding elements of the support rolls. The apparatus affords an infinitely variable and continous adaptation to the wear of the rolls. The apparatus is operated such that the level or position of the individual shim plates is carried out infinitely variable by way of a short vertical stroke. The mill preferably includes a system of movable wedges which includes two upper wedges and two lower wedges.

Abstract: A fermentation process is disclosed for the preparation of an inoculum, suitable for batchwise, semicontinuous, or continuous production of coenzyme B.sub.12 under septic conditions. The fermentation process begins with a broth consisting of methanol, cornsteep liquor hydrolysate or heat-treated corn slop, ammonium bicarbonate, magnesium chloride, cobalt chloride, 5,6-dimethyl-benzimidazole and sodium bisulfite used for anaerobic, mesophilic, septic fermentation production of coenzyme B.sub.12 with anaerobic, digested sewage sludge. Fermentation is carried out over several steps to provide an inoculum containing an anaerobic, mesophilic, methane-producing, new mixed micropopulation, containing bacteria of each of the types deposited at the Hungarian National Collection of Medical Bacteria, National Institute of Hygiene, under numbers 00076, 00079, and 00272.

Abstract: Active form coke is made from coal by passing the coal granulate downwardly through a preheating and pyrolysis zone, a heating zone, an aftertreatment zone and a cooling zone by moving respective grate bars of grates in each zone so that a bed of granules on one grate trickles uniformly onto the next lower grate. In the preheating, heating and aftertreatment zone CO.sub.2 or steam are passed through the beds by laterally introducing the gas at one side and withdrawing the gas on the opposite side of a respective bed.

Abstract: A device for conveying pieces of dough through a fermentation chamber and/or a baking oven comprises a metallic transport band with upstanding lateral ribs of elastomeric material, especially silicon rubber, each having a continuous external groove of a depth approximating half the thickness of the rib which facilitates the fastening of the rib to the band and allows the rib to flex outward on passing around end rollers supporting the band. The band may also be provided with spaced-apart wooden flights bridging the space between the ribs for entraining the goods to be treated.

Abstract: A motion exerciser for the lower leg of a patient engages only the lower leg and has a tray receiving the calf of the lower leg connected by describing elements to a frame which is inclined upwardly away from the patient. A motor-driven carrying element is reciprocatable along the tray and is pivotally connected to the lower leg support at whose opposite end from the tray a footrest is provided which can be moved back and forth on the lower leg support against the force of a pair of springs. A display is provided for the force generated against the footrest.

Abstract: The apparatus of the invention provides a coat of lacquer or varnish on a tear-off cover, which is formed from a thin ferromagnetic metal, has a circumferential supporting lip and is equipped with a tear-off opening made by scoring and/or punching in or out the cover surface. To provide the coat of lacquer or varnish the cover is moved through an electric coating tank, a washing tank and drying zone with the plane of the cover oriented substantially vertically while being supported exclusively on the surface of the inner wall of the supporting lip. The entire surface of the cover is completely covered by the lacquer or varnish coating except for a small portion on the inner wall of the supporting lip which is positioned inside the closed container in a folded seam and/or covered by a sealing material.

Abstract: The device obtains several characteristic parameters from a standard sentence said by a speaker and compares them with average parameters of the same speaker stored in an internal memory and previously calculated. According to the comparison, it obtains a probability value that the sentence spoken belongs to that speaker and compares the value with a threshold normalized to the average parameter variance by a threshold calculation circuit. If the threshold is overcome, the device considers the speaker verified. A circuit determines the real instants of sentence beginning and end using a noise-adaptive threshold in order to limit between these two instants the time interval over which characteristic parameters are to be calculated. A circuit aligns as to time the characteristic parameters just calculated to the parameters of a reference sentence, obtaining standard lengths of the sounds composing the sentence spoken.

Abstract: The compressor compresses a high pressure fluid such as gas or steam in a working chamber provided with a thermo-regenerator connected in parallel. Said fluid is alternatingly brought to a high temperature in the warm portion of the chamber by means of a heat supply and is taken down to a reduced temperature in the cold portion of the chamber by means of a refrigerator. The cold portion communicates with a fluid separator comprised of two chambers which are sealingly separated by means of a piston or an elastic membrane. The chamber of the fluid separator connected with the cold portion of the working chamber forms together with the latter a primary circuit of the compressor which uses as working fluid helium, hydrogen or an overheated steam of a condensable fluid. The second chamber is connected with two pressurized containers through two return valves with opposite passage and wherein the working fluid (liquid, gas-oil mixture) is stored at two different pressures.
