Abstract: An automatic TW (traveling-wire) electroerosion machining system for machining a plurality of workpieces of different types required to acquire different contours includes a TW machine having a wire setting unit and located adjacent a predetermined path. A work dispensing unit successively dispenses the different workpieces onto the path from a store thereof located adjacent the path. This unit and a work handling and transfer unit operate under control commands from an NC unit and, in conjunction with the TW machine with the wire setting unit to carry out a plurality of work processing operations sequentially. In each operation, each individual workpiece selected from the store is transferred as it is carried on a pallet for loading onto and unloading from the TW machine. The electrode setting unit on the machine acts both to form a start hole and thread a wire-type electrode through the formed hole in the workpiece.

Abstract: A dressed leather is provided which comprises a split leather having one side from which fibers protrude, a first layer of solidified aqueous dispersion having a thickness between 0.07 mm and 0.22 mm of a synthetic plastics material in which the fibers are completely immersed on the one side, and a second layer of a synthetic plastics material of generally the same thickness of the first layer bonded to the first layer and having turned away therefrom a textured or non-textured surface. Additionally, there may be a finish layer overlying the textured or non-textured surface of the second layer. The split leather is substantially free of the dispersion except at the fibers.

Abstract: A backpack having a front panel normally riding on the back of the wearer according to this invention has a front panel which is vertically elongated and which is formed of an at least semirigid shell having a shape generally complementary to that of the back of the wearer and constucted to be relatively bendable longitudinally and relatively stiff transversely. Thus the panel can bend forward and back, that is about a horizontal axis, but cannot flex about a vertical axis. This is achieved by forming the shell with transverse rigidifying formations so it is longitudinally relatively bendable and transversely relatively stiff. These formations according to this invention are ridges or grooves.

Abstract: An apparatus for fitting heat-sealed containers comprises a conveyor for displacing a succession of the containers in a normal direction of travel through a station and for arresting each of the containers momentarily in the station, a supply at the station holding a stack of caps, a grab for taking a cap off the stack and positioning it atop the container arrested in the station and a welding tool for tack welding the cap to the container in the station as the cap is being positioned on the container and while it is still held by the grab, and a device downstream of the station for heat shrinking the caps on the bottles. The welding tool and grab are practically the same device and work very closely together. Thus there is no time during which the cap is not being positively held. Before the grab releases it, it is tack-welded to the bottle.

Abstract: The arrangement for the pre-sorting of household garbage comprises replaceable garbage sacks which consist of at least two sectional sacks having different distinguishing marking and forming separate garbage compartments which can be separated from each other. As a result of these steps it is possible to pre-sort resulting refuse consumer-just even more carefully and extensively in order to then dispose of the garbage components through recycling, decomposition and more ecologically-favourable incineration.

Abstract: Phosphoric acid solution used in the decontamination of radioactive metal articles is reacted with oxalic acid to precipitate the iron oxalate which is then pyrolyzed to form a mixture of oxides in small volume for storage as a radioactive waste. The solution from which the oxalate is removed is evaporatively concentrated and reused for decontamination.

Abstract: A plurality of spindles of a textile machine are all mechanically interconnected and individually grouped, the individual groups of the spindles are driven by respective polyphase electric motors having respective feed lines all connected in parallel to the output lines of a polyphase electric power supply. Either the current or the voltage of the supply is maintained generally constant independent of load and a characteristic of the electricity in the feed lines of only one of the motors is monitored in the constant-current system or in the output lines of the supply in the constant-voltage system. An alarm, for example an optical or acoustic signal or just an indication on a display or printout, is generated when the characteristic of the electricity in any one of the monitored lines varies substantially from that of the other monitored lines.

Abstract: A new composition is disclosed for the prevention of smoking which consists essentially of:(a) 2 to 4 parts/weight of a solution of silver acetate in distilled water or deionized water at a concentration of 1.5 to 7.5 g/l; and(b) 1 part/weight of a solution of ethanol of a pharmaceutical grade in which is dissolved an effective amount of a flavoring agent in the ethanol. Preferably, the composition is applied by spraying. The composition is made by a process which involves stirring of a mixture of water and the silver acetate for a prolonged period and combining the silver acetate solution with a solution of a flavoring agent in ethanol. When sprayed into the mouth, the resulting composition gives an unpleasant metallic taste discouraging smoking.

Abstract: A reader for reading magneto-optical characters, with the options of printing them or storing them.A track is provided for driving a check from an inlet plate (T1) over various portions of path (T2, T3 and T4). Wheels (G1 and G2) are provided beneath the path, and may be motor driven. Above said wheels there are heads (TM1 and TM2) respectively for premagnetizating and reading CMC7 characters. Each head is mounted on one arm of a corresponding bell crank (L1, L2) which cranks are pivoted to a frame at their corners (L10 and L20). The other arm (L12 and L22) of said bell cranks are resiliently urged by springs (L15 and L25) mounted on an actuator rod (AC) which is itself driven by an electromagnet (EM2). It has turned out that such an assembly ensures effective transducer operation of the heads (TM1 and TM2) for reading CMC7 characters.

Abstract: A field chopper has a frame adapted to travel along the ground in a normal travel direction, a main housing fixed on the frame and defining a chopping chamber extending along an axis transverse to the direction and having relative to the direction a front radially open intake opening and a rear outlet angularly offset therefrom, and an intake housing having a front end turned forward away from the frame. This intake housing is pivotal on the main housing or the frame about the axis. A stationary counterblade is carried on the intake housing to one angular side of the intake opening. A rotary cutting/chopping drum rotatable in the chamber about the axis has a blade orbitable immediately adjacent the stationary counterblade. Crop is cut at the the front end of the intake housing and conveyed back in the intake housing from the cutter to the intake opening.

Abstract: The invention relates to novel pyrimido [5,4-b][1,4]oxazine derivatives of the formula (I), and the acid addition salts thereof, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and a process for their preparation. Abstract: Process for the recovery of vanadium from vanadium-containing source materials under the addition of additives, especially alkali metal compounds, particularly the carbonates, chlorides, sulfates as well as nitrates and/or mixtures of these compounds, whereby the source material is ground and roasted. The roasted material is leached and whereby the withdrawn leach solution is hydrometallurgically treated for the recovery of vanadium compounds. The source materials are first roasted without the addition of alkali additives and subsequently are leached in a first leaching step. To the residues of the first leaching step are added alkali additives and the mixture is roasted in a second roasting step. The roasting products are again leached.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method of and a device for removing range ambiguity in a pulse Doppler radar and to a radar including such a device especially for missile guidance. On tracking operation at a high pulse repetition frequency the method consists in switching the repetition frequency f.sub.R (k) for each time interval .DELTA.t, over a new value f.sub.R (k+1) obtained in a circuit from the measured ambiguous range y(k) and from the ambiguity number n(k), as estimated in a circuit from radar information supplied by the radar, in order to remove eclipsing, to maintain the ambiguity number constant and to estimate the range with a growing accuracy in the course of the tracking operation.

Abstract: A filter wall constructed separtely from the frame member is clamped in a clamping slot, to which toward the outside edge of the filter plate a widened sealing slot in a shoulder of the support is connected. A projecting edge of the filter wall extends into the latter slot with the shoulder overlapping, the filter wall having an annular flange directed to the outside. The seal is arranged in the sealing slot and has a U-shaped cross section with two arms extending inwardly, whose arms enclose and seal both sides of the annular flange and which seals the support on one side and the frame member on the other side. The spacing between the seal and the joint is sufficient that upon release of the closing pressure of the filter press, without disengaging it, the frame can be moved sufficiently far from the support that the pressurizable chamber is unsealed at the seal in the sealing slot.

Abstract: Continuously printed forms, e.g. checks, are cut from a sheet, sequenced and fed longitudinally and horizontally so that they are overlapped. Trays are moved vertically downwardly and are laterally open so that the overlapped checks are inserted and thereby stacked in the trays. Defective forms can be removed prior to shingling and slip sheets can be inserted to designate locations at which defective forms have been removed.

Abstract: A focusing system for slide projectors and the like in which the lens is mounted in a replaceable shift ring which can be selected from a set of such rings with different offsets between the lens axis and the projector axis. The ring can be assembly-affixed on a plate which can be clamped against the projector housing over the projection lens aperture thereof.

Abstract: The rolls of a rolling mill can be axially moved by way of an actuator device equipped with piston-and-cylinder units. The bearing blocks which receive the journal ends of the rolls to be moved are horizontally guided in separate guide bodies. The guide bodies, in turn can be shifted vertically in cylinder blocks arranged at the flanks of the windows of the respective base member, or in pressure plates associated with such cylinder blocks. The actuator device is characterized by a compact design which even during exchange of rolls is contained in the confines of the roll stand, and it can be easily coupled to the rolls to be moved. The guide bodies of at least one base member are formed with lateral projections at which are mounted the motive power providing hydraulic cylinders, and these are connected in such a way that the piston rods thereof point in the direction of the guide bodies.

Abstract: A cab which serves the occupancy of individuals, preferably in motor vehicles, which is equipped with an aerating and air removal system with integrated blower as well as a filter arrangement. The filter arrangement (3) consists of two filter packages (4, 5) which are arranged in shape of a V, and in whose entrance opening a blower (2) is emplaced, whose sensor (11) is provided on the interior surface of a cab window (12), which upon appearance of moisture on the interior surface of the window furnishes a control pulse.

Abstract: A prismatic glass or transparent synthetic resin case for a clockwork on a base of an anniversary clock is provided on at least some of its planar facets with a decor whose resistance to peeling is ensured by the planarity of the facets to which the decor is applied. All surfaces of the case are planar and adjoin other surface elements at obtuse angles.

Abstract: The digging tool assembly for an excavator in which the tooth tip is formed with a pin anchored by a securing ring in a recess of an adapter head which fits into the tooth base and traverses a hole in the tooth base so that the pin not only holds the tooth tip and the tooth base together but also anchors both of them to the adapter head which mounts the tool on the movable tool carrier of the excavator, e.g. a tunneling machine or a suction dredge.
