  • Patent number: 5755070
Abstract: A multi veneer anchor structural assembly for interconnection between the inner wythe and the outer wythe of an edifice. The assembly includes a pair of base members mounted in spanning relationship with at least vertical channels which form the frame of an edifice. A vertical plate is connected between the base members and has formed thereon a plurality of outwardly projecting vertical members each of which is engagable with a wall tie; with the wall ties being connected to an outer wythe. The assembly forms part of a drywall construction system which includes an insulating strip disposed between adjacent ones of the vertical plates, thereby providing a complete insulating layer for the edifice. In an alternate embodiment, the vertical plate is fabricated with a plurality of locally deformed areas which results in a high degree of stiffness of the veneer anchor structural assembly.

  • Patent number: 5751611
Abstract: A display device, in form of a panel meter which includes a combination of a linear bar graph and digital numeric display, linearly displays a non-linear input variable at an infinite number of input points. A microprocessor receives a digital input, which can be a converted analog signal, representing a non-linear variable such as a liquid level height in a tank or reservoir or a corresponding analog input received through an analog to digital (A/D) converter. A non-volatile memory stores a finite set of predetermined number n of correlated input/output points (x.sub.n, y.sub.n ) which together define a conversion function for converting a given input (x.sub.n) at any given point (x.sub.n, y.sub.n ) to an associated output (y.sub.n). Each two adjacent points (x.sub.0, y.sub.0) and (x.sub.1, y.sub.1) define a straight line segment. The microprocessor is programmed to interpolate for any given input x between two points (x.sub.0, x.sub.1) to provide an output (y) between associated outputs (y.sub.0, y.sub.

  • Patent number: 5727350
Abstract: The self cleaning rain gutter system of this invention has the quadruple advantage of being easy to install, being clog resistant, being self cleaning, and being without visible slope. Ease of installation is accomplished by modular sections made up of box, gutter and louver rack. These are simply installed level, using the fascia board as a guide as well as a support. A modular section may be installed fully assembled, with preset slope and leader funnel with cleaning water connections--or, at the option of the installer, may be mounted in a two step procedure, first the support box and then the gutter and louver rack. Clog resistance is provided by an integral top grating which interdicts most leaves and twigs as well as the occasional tennis ball. These larger items tend to provide the framework for clogs. The smooth rounded cross section of the bottom of the inner gutter also tends to resist clogging.

  • Patent number: 5713115
Abstract: Described is an electronically regulated coiling apparatus for mattress and upholstery springs comprising essentially a wire draw-in, a wire guidance, a cutting device and a bending device for a wire to be processed, and due to short drive trains equipped with few transfer elements, in particular for the bending device, improved torsional rigidity and flexural strength of the particular drive train is attained. The electronically regulated servomotors used according to the invention can therefore transfer their movement directly onto the bending tools and the drive rollers by interconnecting few transfer elements. This permits bending a wire with decreased tolerances into a corresponding spring.

  • Patent number: 5714772
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a light converter with an LED and an amorphous-silicon pin heterojunction diode includes steps of a) preparing an LED structure on one side of a substrate as a light-emitting unit; b) forming a buffer layer on the other side of the substrate; and c) depositing a pin (positive type/intrinsic type/negative type) diode on the buffer layer as a light-absorbing unit this blue/red light converter, and the value of rise time obtained under 1 k.OMEGA. is 112.5 .mu.sec. The present invention desirably lower the cost, simplify the preparation process, and avoids degrading features of a light converting unit by over-heating during the process of preparing the pin diode.
