  • Patent number: 5914169
Abstract: A protective cover for a motor vehicle conventional floor mat comprising a removable fabric protectively enclosing the top side of the mat. An elastic strip integral with the inner rim of the cover removably engages the cover to the underside of the floor mat. The conventional floor mat has a mat irregular peripheral edge and the cover edge is custom fitted to the mat irregular peripheral edge. An elastic strip unitary with the cover inner rim allows the cover to be disengaged from the floor mat by stretching the elastic strip to a biased mode. The cover is preferably made of an uncut pile fabric such as terry cloth. A waterproofing layer is preferably attached to the interior surface of the cover.

  • Patent number: 5894765
Abstract: A ratcheting tool, such as a screwdriver having multiple reversible bits in which a ratchet assembly is located in the screwdriver handle closer to the rear end of the handle, being the end opposite the screwdriver shank. Extending from the ratchet in a direction toward the shank, but at least partially within the handle, is a ratchet drive tube having an interior cross-section which is hexagonal. The screwdriver shank is a tube with both ends, having hexagonal interior cross-sections into which interchangeable double-ended drive bits with mating hexagonal shoulders may be partially inserted, with a portion of each hexagonal shoulder remaining exposed. The exposed portion of the hexagonal shoulder opposite the bit selected for use is inserted into the mating hexagonal ratchet drive tube. Driving rotation of the handle is transmitted to the selected bit in use through the ratchet and ratchet drive tube to the shoulder of the unselected bit, to the screwdriver shank and to the shoulder of the selected bit.

  • Patent number: 5879153
Abstract: A novelty candle includes an exterior meltable body made of wax which has a first predetermined configuration, such as a human hand, and in interior body formed of a generally non-meltable material, such as a stone-like material, is embedded within the hand. The interior body, in the form of skeletal components of a human hand is smaller than but otherwise substantially corresponds to the shape of the hand. One or more wicks are used to gradually burn and/or melt away the outer wax shell or layer to gradually expose the skeletal components. A surface coloration coating may be used on the wax shell to simulate the skin of a hand, and the wax may be given a color, such as red, to simulate blood when the outer shell melts and drips on the portion of the hand that remains. A candle is also described in the form of a coffin made of wax which gradually exposes a skeleton when the wicks of the candle are lit and the coffin melts away.

  • Patent number: 5874491
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel compositions useful, for example, in marking road surfaces. The compositions contain a moisture sensitive luminescent substance (for example a phosphorescent substance having increased brightness and longer lasting afterglow) and an epoxy resin or a polyurethane resin which is water miscible or soluble, and which impart moisture stability to the luminescent substance. The luminescent substance-resin mixtures may be mixed with water-based highway paints. As a result, these novel compositions impart an extended road surface life, and are environmentally friendly because they do not contaminate the surrounding environment with organic hydrocarbon products via vaporization or runoffs. In addition these compositions may be used both indoors and outdoors for nighttime marking and in other marking applications.

  • Patent number: 5869399
Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for increasing utilzable surface area of a rugged polysilicon layer in a semiconductor device. The present method includes steps of: (a) providing a pre-grown rugged polysilicon layer which is composed of polysilicon with first dopants doped therein; (b) forming another polyslicon layer on the pre-grown rugged polysilicon layer; (c) removing a portion of the another polysilicon layer by an anisotropic etching process to expose an upper surface of the pre-grown rugged polysilicon layer; and (d) etching the resulting pre-grown rugged polysilicon layer which an etching selectivity ratio of the pre-grown rugged polysilicon layer to the another polysilicon layer being greater than one, to obtain the rugged polysilicon layer having increasing utilizable surface area. A semiconductor device containing the rugged polysilicon layer created according to the present invention can work well in a relatively dense and small semiconductor chip.
