Abstract: The first seal seat is disposed in a first passage of a case. The first float valve body is disposed in the case and closes the first seal seat in response to the liquid level of the fuel. The second seal seat is disposed vertically above the first seal seat, in a second passage of the case. The second valve body is disposed on one side of the second seal seat communicating to the outside of the second passage, with being resiliently urged upwards from below. The second float is disposed in the case and regulates an upper end position of the second valve body to open the second valve seat in response to movement of the liquid level of fuel at least until the liquid level is higher than the liquid level at which the first float valve body closes the first seal seat.

Abstract: A method and structure for discovering problem resolution in a helpdesk data set of problem tickets is based on using an enumerated set of phrases that have been identified as indicating diagnosis, instruction, or corrective action. A count of these phrases is then obtained and used along with any accompanying structured information to score each problem ticket. The tickets are then sorted so that the most useful problem tickets appear first.

Abstract: A four-point ball bearing includes: an inner ring and an outer ring defining raceway grooves, respectively. Each of the raceway grooves is constituted by two circular arcs different in curvature provided on opposite sides of a widthwise center of the raceway groove. A plurality of balls are arranged between the inner and outer rings so that the balls can roll. In at least one of the raceway grooves, a center of curvature of one of the circular arcs and a center of curvature of the other circular arc are displaced from each other at least in a radial direction so that spin is generated in each of the balls.
Abstract: A transfer member transporting section is disposed so as to bring a tip end of a transfer member into contact with a peripheral face of a transfer rotary member before the tip end of the transfer member enters a nip area. Abstract: A method and structure for a method of manufacturing a device having different types of transistors, wherein gates of the different types of transistors in the device comprise different materials. The method comprises depositing a silicon layer on a gate dielectric layer, depositing a first-type gate material on the silicon layer, removing the first-type gate material from areas where a second-type gate is to be formed, depositing a second-type gate material on the silicon layer in areas where the first-type gate material was removed, and simultaneously patterning the first-type gate material and the second-type gate material into first-type and second-type gates, and anneal and transform the two types of gate materials.

Abstract: In a data recording and reproducing method, data blocks are recorded in a storage unit. Priority levels each for one of the data blocks are set and stored. Abstract: A method, a system and a computer program product are disclosed for allocating bandwidth of a limited bandwidth link to dataflows containing packets. In the method, the number of buckets is adaptively adjusted dependent upon the number of active dataflows. Each bucket has a number of tokens allocated to the bucket for use by the corresponding dataflow. The number of tokens is dependent upon a weighted value for the corresponding dataflow. Queueing of the packets for utilization of the limited bandwidth link is dependent upon the tokens. Tokens are then adaptively-reallocated to one or more buckets in accordance with a weighted value for each of the dataflows.

Abstract: A method and structure for a CMOS device comprises depositing a silicon over insulator (SOI) wafer over a buried oxide (BOX) substrate, wherein the SOI wafer has a predetermined thickness; forming a gate dielectric over the SOI wafer; forming a shallow trench isolation (STI) region over the BOX substrate, wherein the STI region is configured to have a generally rounded corner; forming a gate structure over the gate dielectric; depositing an implant layer over the SOI wafer; performing one of N-type and P-type dopant implantations in the SOI wafer and the implant layer; and heating the device to form source and drain regions from the implant layer and the SOI wafer, wherein the source and drain regions have a thickness greater than the predetermined thickness of the SOI wafer, wherein the gate dielectric is positioned lower than the STI region.

The wavelength compensation output waveguide 105 has a tapering connecting portion connected to the output side slab-waveguide 105. Thus, the outputted light has a sharp spectrum, thus permitting ready wavelength compensation.

Abstract: There is provided an apparatus for compensating for an eccentricity of an optical disc, including a driver on which an optical disc is mounted for rotation, an optical head for emitting optical beams to the optical disc and receiving optical beams reflected from the optical disc, a mover to which the optical head is secured and which moves in a radius-wise direction of the optical disc, a track cross generating circuit which receives a track error signal from the optical disc and transmits a track cross pulse, and a controller which receives the track cross pulse to thereby determine an eccentricity of the optical disc in view of the optical beams reflected from the optical disc, and controls a rotational frequency of the optical disc in accordance with the thus determined eccentricity. The apparatus provides an advantage that an average transfer rate is increased for the long run.

Abstract: An optical fiber, a mixture solution of the photosetting resins polymerizing in two different polymerization types, and a transparent container are prepared. The photosetting resins are not copolymerized, and have different activation wavelengths of the photopolymerization initiators for hardening. Employing a combination in which the activation wavelength of a photopolymerization initiator for a photosetting resin with higher refractive index after hardening is longer than the activation wavelength of a photopolymerization initiator for a photosetting resin with lower refractive index after hardening, a core portion can be only formed by hardening the photosetting resin with higher refractive index due to a difference between two wavelengths. Thereafter, a clad portion can be formed by hardening two kinds of photosetting resins, whereby an optical transmission device can be manufactured.
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a semiconductor light-emitting device involving the steps of: forming a first semiconductor layer; forming a light-emitting layer of superlattice structure by laminating a barrier layer being made of InY1Ga1-Y1N (Y1≧0) and a quantum well layer being made of InY2Ga1-Y2N (Y2>Y1 and Y2>0) on the first semiconductor layer; and forming a second semiconductor layer on the light-emitting layer, an uppermost barrier layer, which will become an uppermost layer of the light-emitting layer, is made thicker than the other barrier layers. Further, at the time of forming the second semiconductor layer, an upper surface of such uppermost barrier layer is caused to disappear so that the thickness of the uppermost barrier layer becomes substantially equal to those of the other barrier layers.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for providing improved understandability of received speech characterized in that it includes input interface adapted to capture received speech signals connected to a speech recognition means for identifying the contents of the received speech connected to one input of a data processor adapted to perform improvement in understandability, a user profile storage connected to another input of said data processor for providing user specific improvement data, and an output generator connected to the output of said data processor to produce personalized output based on an individual's needs. The instant invention also provides a configured computer program product for carrying out the above method.
