    Abstract: The present invention relates to an automatic telephone answering device with an automatic switching mechanism for switching between an automatic answering mode and a two-way conversation recording mode. When a telephone is put into an off-hook condition for a direct conversation with a calling party while the automatic answering mode is in a standby condition or in operation, such an off-hook condition is detected by a current detector and the conversation is recorded on a recording tape without any limitation of time. When the telephone is put into an on-hook condition during the recording of the conversation, the current detector or a voice signal detector is operated to stop the recording operation, and then the device is automatically brought into a standby condition for the next call.

    Abstract: A device for decomposition of a multicomponent gas, especially air, and its enrichment in at least one component, whereby a supply gas line connects a gas source to a first device having a separation forechamber, and a second separation chamber. A branch line is connected to the forechamber from which a secondary product gas can be removed. Each of the separation chambers can be operated in the favorable pressure range for an effective separation, especially when operating at low supply gas pressures. The configurations of the separation chambers are oriented to the required demand for the individual components. Also, the efficiency of a permeation device having a permeation chamber and a retentate chamber is improved. For this purpose, the separation forechamber and the permeation chamber are operated in parallel and both are supplied with feed gas, whereby the permeate chamber of the permeation device can be flushed with the waste gas from the separation forechamber across the branch line.

    Abstract: A process and a device for cleaning inner or outer walls of vertically extending or inverted tubes of heat exchangers and especially for cleaning tubes in trash incinerators. The process involves imparting kinetic energy to the tubes in an axial direction and then suddenly stopping the tubes to shake loose dirt and the like. The device for the process includes arranging a plurality of rows of vertically extending tubes such that the tubes move upwardly and downwardly in the direction of the axis of the tubes. The tubes advantageously include their own lower distributors and upper headers. These distributors and/or headers rest on a movable cam or cam plate which, for example, may be rotated so that a radially extending offset of the shoulder of the cam permits the cam to lift the upper headers upwardly to a height at which point they are suddenly dropped.

    Abstract: When the mold of plastic injection molding machine is locked, the closing force (K) is measured at the knuckle joint system during a predetermined number of operating cycles (Z). A mean value is computed from these actual value measurements (Si) and if it is within a predetermined tolerance zone (T) around a set-point value (So), no control intervention takes place. But if this mean value is outside of the tolerance zone (T) but in a control zone (R) limited by alarm limits (A), a control intervention takes place by stepwise changing the installed height of the mold until the actual value measured after each operating cycle is again within the tolerance zone (T). The measurement is repeated over another operating period (B); if those measurements stay within the control zone (R), a new mean value is computed only at the end of this operating period and a corresponding decision is made whether or not a control intervention should take place.

Upon the occurrence of a pumping surge, a signal is generated which can control for instance the quick opening of the blowoff valve. In addition, according to the invention the signal generated upon the occurrence of a pumping surge is also utilized to initiate a new fixation of the blowoff line or the pumping limit line.

    Abstract: A speed control device for d-c motors includes an IC control circuit having such a construction that a reference voltage is generated across two of its terminals C and D. Additionally, a current proportional to the armature current of the d-c motor is kept flowing in the terminal D at all times. A transistor is connected across the terminals C and D of the control circuit so that motor revolution can be changed linearly by means of a variable resistor connected in parallel across the base and collector of the transistor.     Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling the surge limit of a turbocompressor utilizes continuously measured pressure and temperature values at the suction and outlet sides of the compressor. A relief valve connected to the outlet side of the compressor is controlled as a function of the distance between a working point and a surge limit line or blow-off line of a characteristic graph produced by characteristic graph coordinates that are computed using the pressure and temperature values. The actual value of another operating parameter that is independent of the pressure and the temperature values, such as the speed of the turbine for the turbocompressor, for example, is used. This operating parameter defines a family of characteristic lines on the characteristic graph. A set-point value for the characteristic graph coordinates is then obtained using the characteristic line of the operating parameter which passes through the working point.

    Abstract: Apparatus and method of positioning and holding a thread chain for sewing onto successively fed workpieces, a thread chain which had been sewn beyond the rear edge of a workpiece and had been cut off flush with the rear edge of the workpiece, is sucked into the suction aperture of a suction tube. The suction tube is movable in a path parallel to the stitch plate of the sewing machine first in a catch position behind the needle and then the tube is moved into a delivery position before the needle aligned with a seam line (N). The chain is clamped there under a tensile stress in such a way that complete inclusion of the thread chain into the next following seam is possible. The suction tube extends parallel to the stitch plate and has a suction aperture into which the severed thread chain is sucked. The tube is moved to a delivery position in which the thread chain is pressed against an elastic abutment.

The spreading is effected by means of a pressing roll having a spiral like ridge around its periphery. The spiral runs from one end of the roll to the opposite end, but alters its spiral direction at the middle area of the roll. According to the invention the spiral roll is kept out of direct contact with the surface of the dough string by a cloth conveyed between the roll and the dough string with the advance speed of the dough. With this arrangement the rotation speed of the pressing roll can be selected independently of the advance speed of the dough string.
