Patent number: 4825982Abstract: An exhaust brake incorporates a slide valve with a decreasing returning or opening effort without also having an increased working or closing effort of its valve elements incorporated therein. The brake system includes a first valve piston connected to a closing slide valve and adapted to move in reciprocating motion inside a cylinder under an operating pressure supplied thereto, and in addition, a second valve piston adapted to be driven in rectilinear motion under the operating pressure in the cylinder so as to work upon a resilient member to be deformed resiliently. When opening the slide valve, a restoring effort of the resilient member is relayed effectively to the first valve piston through a transmitting member to work in assistance with the returning motion of the valve piston.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1987Date of Patent: May 2, 1989Assignee: Jidosha Kiki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Ichiro Yanagawa, Yuzi Wachi

Patent number: 4823660Abstract: A device and method for cutting labels from a strip of heat meltable material comprises a frame, a die plate mounted for resilient movement on the frame and a punch mounted for movement toward and away from the die plate. The punch carries a cutting edge which cooperates with a die surface of the die plate to cut a label. A reciprocating device includes a spring loaded plunger which moves the die plate with its cutting edge into contact with the die surface of the die plate. The die plate is spring mounted to the frame so that excess movement of the punch toward the die plate is absorbed by the springs of the die plate. Any additional excess movement is absorbed by the spring loaded plunger. The die plate may also be provided with a hole conforming substantially to the outer contour of the label. The edge follows the contour of the hole but it is dimensioned slightly larger than the hole so that a margin of die surface remains around the hole against which the cutting edge operates.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 1986Date of Patent: April 25, 1989Inventor: Frederick Forthmann

Patent number: 4822300Abstract: The invention relates to a device for connecting cable wires to cutting/clamping contacts of dropwire connector banks of telecommunication sytems by means of a press-in tool provided with guide and press-in pieces and an actuating face. In order to allow a connection of a dropwire cable wire that thick insulation jacket in one single operation step to a cutting/clamping contact of the dropwire connector bank, the actuating face of the press-in tool is formed as an application body immediately adjacent to the guide and press-in pieces for a striking or lever tool, in particular a screwdriver. By exerting a striking or lever force on the press-in tool, a dropwire cable wire can, thus, be connected in one single operation step to a cutting/clamping contact of a dropwire connector bank. In a further embodiment of the invention, the press-in tool is formed as a part of the closing plug and serves for the fixation of the thin cable wires in dropwire connector banks.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 1987Date of Patent: April 18, 1989Assignee: Krone AktiengesellschaftInventors: Dieter Gerke, Lutz Biederstedt, Eberhard Klaiber

Patent number: 4822572Abstract: A chemical oxygen generator for use in respirators and resuscitators for providing an oxygen reserve includes oxygen in chemically bound compacts or oxygen single-candles and the oxygen is released when needed in the course of a chemical reaction. The oxygen single candles are fitted together axially in a canister in modular construction with incandescence elements therebetween. In the cover of the canister, opposite the upper end wall of the first single candle, there is an igniting device, and in the bottom, an outlet opening for the escape of the released oxygen. As soon as the first oxygen single-candle is activated by means of the igniting device, the oxygen reaction sets in and a reaction front moves in the direction of the next single candle. The reaction transmission to the next single candle occurs through the intermediate incandescence element.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1985Date of Patent: April 18, 1989Assignee: Draegerwerk AGInventors: Carl E. van der Smissen, Rainer Ernst, Wolfgang Eckstein
