  • Patent number: 6225187
Abstract: This present discloses a method for STI top rounding control, the steps comprising: (a) providing a semiconductor substrate; (b) forming an oxide layer on the substrate; (c) forming a hard mask on the oxide layer; (d) forming a photoresist pattern with an opening exposing the hard mask at a predetermined STI trench region on the hard mask; (e) etching the exposed hard mask and the underlying oxide layer within the opening in sequence, and continuously over-etching to remove part of the semiconductor substrate to form a window lower than the surface of the oxide layer; and (f) using the photoresist pattern and the hard mask as an etching mask, removing part of the exposed semiconductor substrate in the window to form an STI trench.

  • Patent number: 6224160
Abstract: A chair is provided which includes an inner member for supporting the body of a person and an outer member for supporting the right and left edges of the inner member. The inner member is made of a synthetic resin and formed into a plate so that the inner member is elastically deformed under the weight of the person. The inner member is attached to the outer member with its side portions supported. Thus, behind the inner member is a space for allowing the inner member to be deformed. In order to be applied to the seat of a chair, preferably, the outer member includes a metal base and a pair of auxiliary supporting elements to be fitted on the metal base. The inner member and the auxiliary supporting elements are fixed to each other in a non-releasable manner by an engaging assembly including engagement nails and engagement holes.

  • Patent number: 6221786
Abstract: This present invention provides methods for isolating interconnects characterized by first isolating the top and bottom interconnects with an IMD consisting of a traditional low-k dielectric material, then dissolving the low-k material with a suitable solvent and using air or a noble gas instead of the traditional low-k dielectric material to isolate the interconnects.

  • Patent number: 6222957
Abstract: A dispersion slope compensator includes a dispersion compensation fiber, an optical circulator and a plurality of fiber gratings. The optical circulator is connected between an optical fiber and the dispersion compensation fiber for introducing mixed optical signals propagating in the optical fiber into the dispersion compensation fiber. The fiber gratings are provided at predetermined positions of the dispersion compensation fiber so as to respectively reflect the mixed optical signals back to the optical fiber through the optical circulator. Thus, accumulated dispersions of the mixed optical signals are fully compensated due to different propagating distances of each of the mixed optical signals in the dispersion compensation fiber.

  • Patent number: 6205912
Abstract: A collapsible barbecue grill includes a tray-like ash/grease catcher having a predetermined depth. The ash/grease catcher is provided at a bottom surface with a pair of wheeled collapsible legs and locating means, along two lateral walls of its top surface with two outward bent edges to provide two supporting frames, and along a rear wall of its top surface with an inward bent edge to provide a baffle, such that a cooking grid having front hooks is removably positioned on and between the two supporting frames and below the baffle. The ash/grease catcher is also provided at an outer front surface with a handle, and near middle points of outer surfaces of its two lateral walls with two bar receivers for a suspension grid set to detachably mount thereto.

  • Patent number: 6204670
Abstract: A process for measuring moisture of grains, fruits, nuts and the like (a sample) by connecting the input of a multilayer microstrip hybrid circuit (MMHC) to a pulse generating source, precalibrating the pulse generating source and a time domain reflectometer and connecting the output of the MMHC to a detector. The time domain reflectometer is then calibrated to obtain a characteristic reference reflection and time of propagation through the MMHC is recorded. The sample is placed on the MMHC and a time delay is measured in response to the characteristic reference reflection. The effective permittivity is then calculated based on the parameters of the time domain reflectometer, time delay, reflection coefficient and characteristic impedance of the MMHC. The calculated effective permittivity is then calibrated against moisture.

  • Patent number: 6195886
Abstract: A method of repairing a cylinder head of a water cooled internal combustion engine that has damage to the boundary wall between a cooling water passage and the combustion chamber. According to the method. the boundary wall B located between a cooling water passage and a combustion chamber and including a crack is cut away from a cylinder head until the cut reaches a depth of one half the cross section of the cooling water passage. Then, a half-pipe portion. having a semicircular cross section that is equal in size to one-half the cross section of the cooling water passage is fixed in the cylinder head from which the boundary wall B has been removed such that an inner surface of the half-pipe may serve to form a cooling water passage after repair. With the use of the above method, the repair operation is completed easily with a low cost because the boundary wall B has only to be cut away to a shallow depth.
