  • Patent number: 6196388
Abstract: The holder of the present invention comprises at least one clamping member, which is pivotally bearing-mounted in rotation bearings. The clamping member has two clamping arms and an operating portion, in which a resilient lip is formed which presses against a bottom of the holder in order to press this operating portion upwards and the clamping arms downwards. Formed on the bottom of the holder is a wedge-shaped threshold, of which a vertically directed stop face cooperates with the free end of the lip to prevent the clamping member from leaving the rotation bearings in an undesired manner.

  • Patent number: 6180557
Abstract: A supported catalyst and a process for the preparation of the catalyst, the catalyst containing mixed metal oxides or halides deposited on porous catalyst carriers or supports, useful for heterogeneously or solid catalyzed Friedel-Crafts reactions such as alkylation, aralkylation, acylation, or aroylation of aromatic compounds in the preparation of fine chemicals. The supported catalyst has high activity for the Friedel-Crafts reactions when the aromatic ring activating groups are present in the aromatic ring to be aralkylated, acylated or aroylated, and also when the ring activating group is absent or when aromatic ring deactivating groups are present in the aromatic ring to aralkylated, acylated or aroylated, so that the reaction temperature is low and/or the time for completing the reaction is short. The catalyst can be separated and used repeatedly for catalytic reactions.

  • Patent number: 6175674
Abstract: An adjustable compensation device for fiber Bragg gratings. The device includes a bimetal structure and a fixture. An optical fiber provided with fiber Bragg gratings is connected to the bimetal structure. The fixture firmly holds the bimetal structure so that the bimetal structure behaves like cantilever beams to compensate pitches of the fiber Bragg gratings. Furthermore, a shim can be inserted between the bimetal structure and the fixture so as to incline the bimetal structure. The compensation for the change of the length of the optical fiber can be adjusted by changing the fixture and/or shim.

  • Patent number: 5931035
Abstract: To prevent a key cylinder from being punched out of an automotive door or the like and to simplify assembly, a stepped key cylinder retention cavity structure that is rigid with an outer panel of the door, is arranged to extend into the interior of the door. A key cylinder is disposed in the cavity from outside of the door so that a shaft that rotates synchronously with a rotor of the key cylinder, extends through an opening formed in an inboard end of the cavity and is connected to a key lever through a lost motion connection that allows for key backlash. The key lever is connected to the cavity structure by resilient barbed members that can be pressed in through the opening from the interior of the door. The barbed members snap into a locking position in suitable recesses formed in the structure. Rotation-limiting projections that are rigid with the structure are provided to limit the amount of rotation of the key lever.
