  • Patent number: 8095742
Abstract: A microcomputer includes a first CPU, a first bus, a first memory, a second CPU, a second bus, and a second memory. The first memory and the second memory are arranged in address spaces individually managed by the first CPU and the second CPU corresponding to the memories. An address translation circuit is provided. When a task so programmed to have a data area in the first memory is transferred to the second memory and executed by the second CPU, the address translation circuit carries out the following processing: the address translation circuit translates an address outputted from the second CPU so that access to the first memory by the task becomes access to the second memory. As a result, the number of access cycles is reduced and degradation in computing capability is avoided when a task is transferred between CPUs for load sharing.

  • Patent number: 8093762
Abstract: In a power phase period when in normal operation, switch portions SW2H and SW2L and switch portions SW3H and SW3L are turned ON, respectively, and switch portions SW1H and SW1L are turned OFF. And floating power supply is provided from an electrostatic capacitance element CS to buses A and B, a floating control circuit 4, a transmitter circuit 5, and a receiver circuit 6, respectively. In a data phase period, the switch portions SW1H and SW1L are turned ON, and the switch portions SW2H, SW2L, SW3H, and SW3L are turned OFF. By that manner, the electrostatic capacitance element CS is charged by the power supply of a battery B, and an electrostatic capacitance element CH provides the floating power supply to the floating control circuit 4, the transmitter circuit 5, and the receiver circuit 6, respectively. By this manner, a floating switch unit 7 in which the number of the switch portions is considerably reduced can be configured.

  • Patent number: 8092684
Abstract: A device, system and method for exchanging components between first and second fluids by direct contact in a microfluidic channel. The fluids flow as thin layers in the channel. One of the fluids is passed through a filter upon exiting the channel and is recycled through a secondary processor which changes the fluid's properties. The recycled fluid is reused for further exchange. The filter excludes blood cells from the recycled fluid and prevents or limits clogging of the filter. The secondary processor removes metabolic waste and water by diafiltration.

  • Patent number: 8095776
Abstract: A semiconductor device correctly switches endian modes regardless of the current endian mode of an interface. The semiconductor device includes a switching circuit and a first register. The switching circuit switches an interface to be used in big endian or little endian mode. The first register holds control data of the switching circuit. The switching circuit sets the interface in little endian mode when first predetermined control information is supplied to the first register, and sets the interface in big endian mode when second predetermined control information is supplied to the first register. The control information can be correctly inputted without being influenced by the endian setting status.

  • Patent number: 8094290
Abstract: An illumination optical system with a simple structure reduces the effects of illumination variations caused by a spatial coherency of illumination light, while maintaining a high usage efficiency of illumination light that is emitted in pulses. The illumination optical system illuminates an irradiated plane with pulse-emitted illumination light and includes a spatial light modulator including a plurality of mirror elements each of which spatially modulates the illumination light in accordance with an incident position of the illumination light. A modulation control unit controls the mirror elements, whenever at least one pulse of illumination light is emitted, in a manner such that the optical elements spatially modulate the pulses of illumination light differently from one another and form substantially the same intensity distribution for the pulses of illumination light on a predetermined plane.

  • Patent number: 8084303
Abstract: In a memory cell array on a main surface of a semiconductor substrate, a floating gate electrode for accumulating charges for information is arranged. The floating gate electrode is covered with a cap insulating film and a pattern of an first insulating film formed thereon. Further, over the entire main surface of the semiconductor substrate, an second insulating film is deposited so that it covers the pattern of the first insulating film and a gate electrode. The second insulating film is formed by a silicon nitride film formed by a plasma CVD method. The first insulating film is formed by a silicon nitride film formed by a low-pressure CVD method. By the provision of such an first insulating film, it is possible to suppress or prevent water or hydrogen ions from diffusing to the floating gate electrode, and therefore, the data retention characteristics of a flash memory can be improved.

  • Patent number: 8083706
Abstract: The present invention is directed to devices, systems and methods for removing undesirable materials from a sample fluid by contact with a second fluid. The sample fluid flows as a thin layer adjacent to, or between, concurrently flowing layers of the second fluid, without an intervening membrane. In various embodiments, a secondary separator is used to restrict the removal of desirable substances and effect the removal of undesirable substances from blood. The invention is useful in a variety of situations where a sample fluid is to be purified via a diffusion mechanism against an extractor fluid. Moreover, the invention may be used for the removal of components from a sample fluid that vary in size. When blood is the sample fluid, for example, this may include the removal of ‘small’ molecules, ‘middle’ molecules, macromolecules, macromolecular aggregates, and cells, from the blood sample to the extractor fluid.

  • Patent number: 8084869
Abstract: A technique permitting the reduction in size of a semiconductor device is provided. In a BGA type semiconductor device with a semiconductor chip flip-chip-bonded onto a wiring substrate, bump electrodes of the semiconductor chip are coupled to lands formed at an upper surface of the wiring substrate. The lands at the upper surface of the wiring substrate are coupled electrically to solder balls formed on a lower surface of the wiring substrate. Therefore, the lands include first type lands with lead-out lines coupled thereto and second type lands with lead-out lines not coupled thereto but with vias formed just thereunder. The lands are arrayed in six or more rows at equal pitches in an advancing direction of the rows. However, a row-to-row pitch is not made an equal pitch. In land rows which are likely to cause a short-circuit, the pitch between adjacent rows is made large, while in land rows which are difficult to cause a short-circuit, the pitch between adjacent rows is made small.
