Abstract: A cut-off state of a carrier signal or a carrier signal outside an effective range of a frequency is detected by a carrier detector, and a signal switching circuit inputs a clock 2 from an external device into a phase comparator in place of the carrier signal, with which a locked state is maintained in a PLL comprising the phase comparator, a charge pump, a loop filter, a voltage control oscillator, and a 1/N divider, so that a high-speed locking operation is realized to another appropriate carrier signal.
Abstract: The semiconductor integrated circuit comprises a parallel-serial converter for converting parallel data read from memory cells into serial data and a switch control circuit for receiving a control signal and controlling the parallel-serial converter. The parallel-serial converter has a plurality of switches connected in a predetermined order. The switch control circuit controls the order of connecting the switches in accordance with the control signal so that parallel data are converted into serial data in a predetermined bit order. This minimizes delay elements formed on the transmission paths of parallel data. Specifically, for example, it eliminates the need for a conversion circuit for changing the bit order of parallel data. This results in faster data read operations from memory cells. Each of the switches in the parallel-serial converter operates in synchronization with a clock signal supplied from the exterior.

The method comprises the stages of checking whether the condition of stationary contact of the moving member exists and determining a magnitude correlated with this current position, if the stationary condition is verified.

Abstract: In an outboard engine system in which a passage defining member having a passage wall defining an exhaust gas passage for guiding an exhaust gas from an engine is provided at its outer wall with a recess and a seal surface surrounding the recess; a fluid passage isolated from the exhaust gas passage is defined between the recess and a lid member which is mounted to the outer wall of the passage defining member with a seal member interposed between the lid member and the seal surface; and an exhaust gas sampling pipe is inserted into the exhaust gas passage through an insertion bore provided in the passage defining member to open into the seal surface, it is arranged that the seal member is formed to surround an opening at an outer end of the insertion bore, and the exhaust gas sampling pipe is gas-tightly fixed in the lid member to extend through the lid member. Thus, the exhaust gas sampling pipe can be inserted into the exhaust gas passage, while avoiding an increase in size of the lid member.

Abstract: A pillar outer of a front pillar of an automotive vehicle comprises a stiffener and a flange portion connecting to a pillar inner. A peripheral portion of a windshield is fixed to a front face (a face orienting outwardly of the vehicle) of the flange portion via a plastically deformable member which can be deformed easily and plastically when a load is applied thereto in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. When an impact generated when an obstacle comes to interfere with the windshield is transmitted to the plastically deformable member, the plastically deformable member is easily press collapsed by the load, and the impact that is to be received by the windshield and the obstacle can be absorbed through the impact absorbing action. In addition, since the front face of the peripheral portion of the windshield is disposed flush with an outer wall portion of the pillar outer, a connecting portion between the two members is made flush with those members to thereby reduce the air drag thereat.

Abstract: A motor-driven injection molding machine comprises an injection device which includes a heating cylinder for heating resin powder therein to melt the resin powder into molten resin and a screw disposed in the heading cylinder for feeding the molten resin in the heating cylinder forward to meter the molten resin. A controller positions, in response to a position detected signal detected by a position detector, the screw at a metering position using an injection servomotor on and immediately after completion of the plasticization and metering process. In addition, the controller rotates, in response to a pressure detected signal detected by a load cell, the screw in the opposite direction using a screw-rotation servomotor on and immediately after the completion of said plasticization and metering process to carry out depressurization of the molten resin in the heating cylinder that is metered ahead of the screw.
Abstract: A controlling signal generating unit generates a bit line controlling signal, a word line signal, a sense amplifier activating signal, and a column line signal. The bit line controlling signal activates a resetting circuit which resets a bit line. The word line signal controls the connection between a memory cell and the bit line which transmits data to the memory cell. The sense amplifier activating signal activates a sense amplifier which amplifies data transmitted to the bit line. The column line signal activates a column switch which transmits data to the bit line. The controlling signal generating unit activates predetermined signal(s) among the word line signal, the sense amplifier activating signal, the bit line controlling signal, and the column line signal at the start of a write operation. The controlling signal generating unit activates the remaining signal(s) after the acceptance of write data.

A reverse mapping address to the texture image and the bump image is stored in a rendering memory to obtain a drawing object address for the texture image according to the address in the rendering memory.
Abstract: Disclosed are an improved probe pin assembly and a method of making the same. Each probe pin uses a sleeve which is formed by stamping and deep-drawing a thin sheet of metal with dies. The sleeve has a contact pin slidably fitted therein, a resilient member contained therein to spring-bias the contact pin with its tip end appearing from the sleeve and a cover plate fastened to and closing the rear opening of the sleeve.
Abstract: An outer panel is made thinner than an inner panel, and a rear face facing a front door is folded so as to form a valley groove hollowed toward the interior of a tube constituted by true outer panel and the inner panel, whereby when a large magnitude of external force is applied to a front face in a rear ward direction, the outer panel is allowed to be deformed more largely than the inner panel to thereby collapse the valley groove, whereby the rearward travel of the rear face can be reduced.

Abstract: The present invention provides an electroluminescent display which allows each of Red (R), Green (G), and Blue (B) light-emitting elements to be built up simultaneously for emitting light at predetermined instantaneous luminance in order to improve the reproducibility of gradations when addressed by a pulse-width modulation drive. The electroluminescent display has a charging means for charging at least any one of the R, G, and B light-emitting elements in the duration between the end of a scan and the start of the subsequent scan. The charging means charges different amounts of charge to each of the R, G, and B light-emitting elements. While scanning a scanning line, a power supply is connected to a predetermined drive line in response to the scan on the scanning line, hereby causing a light emission by the light-emitting element connected to the intersection of the scanning line and the drive line.
Abstract: The present invention provides an input circuit having small current consumption in a clock synchronization type semiconductor integrated circuit. The input circuit is activated by an activation signal to receive an input signal and an activation signal generating circuit generates the activation signal. The activation signal generating circuit activates intermittently the activation signal for a time shorter than a period of a clock signal and including a setup time and a hold time of the input signal in order to activate the input circuit. The input circuit is activated only for the limited time of one period of the clock signal and therefore current consumption can be reduced.
