  • Patent number: 6339353
Abstract: The present invention provides an input circuit having small current consumption in a clock synchronization type semiconductor integrated circuit. The input circuit is activated by an activation signal to receive an input signal and an activation signal generating circuit generates the activation signal. The activation signal generating circuit activates intermittently the activation signal for a time shorter than a period of a clock signal and including a setup time and a hold time of the input signal in order to activate the input circuit. The input circuit is activated only for the limited time of one period of the clock signal and therefore current consumption can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6339297
Abstract: A plasma density information measuring method capable of easily measuring the plasma density information over the long term, a probe for measuring the plasma density information, and a plasma density information measuring apparatus are disclosed. A measuring probe is set such that a tip end of a glass tube of the measuring probe is brought into contact with plasma PM to be measured. High-frequency power sent through a coaxial cable is supplied to the plasma PM from a loop antenna through a wall of the tube, and reflection power of the high-frequency power is received by the loop antenna to obtain a counter frequency variation of reflection coefficient of the high-frequency power. In the obtained reflection coefficient, a portion thereof in which the reflection coefficient is largely reduced is a peak at which strong absorption of high-frequency power is caused due to the plasma density. The plasma density can be obtained from the plasma absorption frequency.

  • Patent number: 6338022
Abstract: The operational burden and uncomfortable feeling given to a driver by automatically restoring the disturbance in the vehicle attitude of a vehicle caused by a collision avoidance control, is reduced when avoiding a collision between the vehicle and an oncoming vehicle by automatic steering. When there is a possibility of a collision between the vehicle and an oncoming vehicle, the collision with the oncoming vehicle is avoided by supplying a lateral movement control current I1 having a sinusoidal shape to the actuator of the electric power steering device, to move the vehicle laterally. The yaw angle of the vehicle is detected by integrating the yaw rate simultaneously with the start of the lateral movement, and in order to return the vehicle attitude of the vehicle to its original state by converging the yaw angle to 0 in the final stage of the lateral movement, a yaw angle correction control current I2 is superimposed on the lateral movement control current I1 and supplied to the actuator.

  • Patent number: 6336884
Abstract: When a tangential friction force received by a pulley abutment surface 37 of a metal element 32 from a pulley is represented by FV; a radial distance from a point 45 of action of the tangential friction force to a rocking edge 40 located radially outside the friction force-acting point 45 is represented by L; a radially inward load received by the metal element 32 from a metal ring assembly 31 is represented by FL; and a thickness of the metal element 32 is represented by t, the radial distance L and the thickness t of the metal element are determined, so that a relation, L/t≦FL/2FV is established. Thus, even if a moment FV×L is applied to the metal element 32 by the tangential friction force FV, the moment FV×L can be canceled by a moment FL×(t/2) generated by a load FL for urging an edge a of a ring slot 35 by the metal ring assembly 31, thereby preventing the inclination of the metal element 32 to enhance the durability of the metal ring assembly.

  • Patent number: 6336432
Abstract: There is provided a valve timing control system for an internal combustion engine, which is capable of properly setting the reference position of the cam phase by learning, and at the same time promptly establishing a learned value of the reference position when the learned value is lost, thereby accurately changing the cam phase for proper control of the valve timing of the engine. A cam phase change mechanism changes the cam phase. A reference value indicative of a reference position of the cam phase is learned at a predetermined learning speed based on the cam phase detected when the cam phase change mechanism is in a predetermined operative state, and the learned reference value (learned value) is stored in a RAM. When the loss of the learned value from the RAM is detected, a learning speed at the reference value is learned is corrected such that the learning speed is increased from the predetermined learning speed for a predetermined time period.
