Abstract: An adjusting method for a synchronous signal in an optical storage device is disclosed. The optical storage device produces a predetermined synchronous signal, and the predetermined synchronous signal normally is matched with the data synchronous signal of the data on the optical disc. The predetermined synchronous signal includes a number of predetermined synchronous impulses, and the data synchronous signal includes a number of data synchronous impulses. In the method, when the data synchronous signal is not matched to the predetermined synchronous signal, it is searched that whether or not a data synchronous impulse is outside of the predetermined window and another consecutive data synchronous impulse detected later by a distance of an image frame is detected. Also and, according to the data synchronous impulse, the predetermined synchronous impulse is adjusted, so that the data synchronous impulse is matched with the predetermined synchronous impulse.
Abstract: The holder member 4 is rotatably supported at the tip portion 2a of the sliding member 2 placed on the guide face 1a of the guide member 1 arranged fixedly inside the cylinder C. The holder member 4 is inclined when the tip portion 3a of the profiling member 3 is inserted between the holder member 4 and the sliding member 2. Then the tapered end of the processing roller 6 is pushed into the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder where the sliding member 2 and the profiling member 3 move together in the axial direction of the cylinder, thereby to form a linear groove on the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder C.

Abstract: A finger-pressure substitutive stimulator comprises a supple, net-like sheet member having many stripe-like projections on one surface thereof and formed of various hard or semi-hard synthetic resin materials. The finger-pressure substitutive stimulator is fixed to the surface of the skin of a human body at a part to be treated using an appropriate fixing means—e.g., commercially available adhesive tapes, bandages, and supporters—or an adhesive sheet fastened to the smooth rear surface of the sheet member; it serves to ease or remove pain by correcting such ailments as rheumatism, neuralgia, shoulder stiffness, lumbago, and visceral disorders. The stripe-like projections pressed against the skin surface provide uniform, sustained stimulation to the peripheral nerves in the human body surface layer over the entire wide region to which the stimulator is attached and effectively correct disorders and abnormalities of the human body, thereby removing or easing pains.

Abstract: A dual lamp illumination system adapted for a projection display system. The dual lamp illumination system includes a first illumination module and a second illumination module, a beam deflecting unit, and a light homogenizer. The first and the second illumination modules each includes a light source, and an elliptically-shaped housing having an interior reflective coating. The light homogenizer is then for homogenizing the multiplexed beam. The invention achieves throughput of 1.5×–1.7× higher gain than single lamp illumination systems useful particularly in a projection display system.
Abstract: A zoom lens formed in a small size adaptable to a thin and portable device, having three lens groups, including, from the object plane to the image forming plane: a first lens group with a negative power, a second lens group with a positive power and a third lens group with a positive power. By controlling the ratio of the focal length of the second lens group and the focal length of the tele-photo end, image distortion may be controlled, and the total length of the lens may be reduced to shrink the size of the lens. Hence production costs may be reduced, which is important to mass production.

Abstract: A compact disk (CD) recording end address compensation method is disclosed herein. The recording end address of the original recording session is compared with the recording start address of the second recording session. If two recording sessions are overlapped or staggered, the non-informational area such as pre-gap or Lead-out area is shortened or extended for compensate the mismatch. The invention makes it possible to ensure the desirable data be recorded without missing any piece.
Abstract: The present invention provides a semiconductor wafer comprising an insulated board of sapphire or the like having translucency, which is provided with a positioning orientation flat at a peripheral portion thereof, and a silicon thin film formed over the entire one surface of the insulated board. In the semiconductor wafer, ions are implanted in an area containing the orientation flat at a peripheral portion of the silicon thin film to amorphize silicon. Thus, the translucency at the amorphized spot is eliminated and accurate positioning using the conventional optical sensor can be performed.

Abstract: A method of compressing and decompressing images is disclosed for applications in compression and decompression chips with the JBIG standard. The pipeline of computing a pixel is divided into three parts: memory access, numerical operations, renormalization and byteout/bytein. Each steps takes a work cycle; therefore, three pixels are processed in parallel at the same time. In comparison, the work cycle of the prior art without pipeline improvement is longer. This method can effectively shorten the work cycle of each image data process, increasing the speed of compressing and decompressing image data.

A linear mapping matrix is used for the operation of the LFSR to generate the CRC and the maximum value of the non-zero entries in the mapping matrix is reduced by applying one or more raw operations to the linear mapping matrix in advance before the computation of mapping the input message to the CRC result. Flip-flops are additionally inserted before the generator matrix to obtain a pipeline architecture so as to further improving the operation speed thereof.
Abstract: A printed circuit board having right-angled trace and a method for making the right-angled trace is to apply semi-conductor material and form an interface with a P-type semi-conductive layer and a N-type semi-conductive layer. The semi-conductive right-angled interface does not reflect signals transmitting from the first line portion to the second line portion and via the right-angled portion so as to reduce signal reflection interference. The right-angled line arrangement also shortens the connection distance and reduces the circuit board dimensions.
