  • Patent number: 6731175
Abstract: A high frequency amplifier. The amplifier includes two transistors for signal amplification, and input and output matching circuits. There are variable capacitors and resistors in the matching input and output circuits. A received signal strength indicator receives the band-pass filtered intermediate-frequency signal and generates an indication signal corresponding to the amplitude of the received signal. The variable capacitors and resistors are tuned by the indication signal from the received signal strength indicator. Thus, the gain of the high frequency amplifier is automatically controlled.

  • Patent number: 6730522
Abstract: A method of forming a more satisfactory inorganic compound solid (ferroelectric film or the like) out of organic compound materials containing metal elements by annealing at a relatively low temperature. In order to form a ferroelectric film, a solution of organic compound materials containing metal elements is coated over a semiconductor substrate (S41) and dried (S42), after which precalcining is carried out (S43). After this process is repeated until a predetermined film thickness is achieved, organic substance removing treatment is carried out (S45). The organic substance removing treatment is carried out by, for example, heat treatment (approximately at 550° C.) in a low-pressure atmosphere (approximately at 50 Torr). Post calcining is carried out to inorganic compound materials obtained by the organic substance removing treatment (S46). The post calcining is carried out at a temperature of approximately 550° C., for example, whereby the inorganic compound materials are crystallized.

  • Patent number: 6728184
Abstract: A method and device of determining the slice level of a radio frequency ripple (RFRP) signal for performing a tracking operation in a tracking controller of an optical storage device. The optical storage device receives a tracking error (TE) signal, a radio frequency center (RFCT) signal, and the RFRP signal, and then outputs a TE_input signal related to the slice level. The method includes the following steps: a. obtaining a count value when the absolute value of the TE signal is smaller than a threshold value; otherwise, resetting the count value; b. executing step c when the count value is smaller than a predetermined count value; otherwise, outputting the TE signal as the TE_input signal; and c. outputting the TE signal as the TE_input signal when the RFRP signal is greater than the RFCT signal; otherwise outputting a peak value of the TE signal as the TE_input signal.
