  • Patent number: 6759838
Abstract: A phase-locked loop with dual-mode phase/frequency detection is provided. The phase-locked loop circuit includes a dual-mode phase/frequency detector, a loop filter, a voltage-controlled oscillator, and a frequency converter. In addition, the dual-mode phase/frequency detector includes a digital phase/frequency detector, an analog phase/frequency detector, a charge pump, and a control unit. When the phase-locked loop circuit starts, the control unit causes a detection output signal from the dual-mode phase/frequency detector to correspond to a digital signal from the digital phase/frequency detector. When the phase-locked loop circuit approaches a lock state, the control unit causes the detection output signal to correspond to an analog signal from the analog phase/frequency detector. The phase-locked loop with dual-mode phase/frequency detection has the advantages of providing linear characteristics, fast switching speed, and high sensitivity.

  • Patent number: 6753551
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) having an oblique electric field while a voltage is applied between the upper plate and the lower plate of the LCD is disclosed. The LCD includes a first regulating device of the upper plate and the second regulating device of the lower plate. As no voltage between the upper and lower plate, the liquid crystal molecules in the proximity of the first and the second regulating device are perpendicular to the upper and the lower plate. After a voltage is applied, an oblique electric field is produced by these regulating devices. The liquid crystal molecules are then rotated to parallel to the upper and lower plates because of the oblique electric field. The first and second regulating devices are bumps made of dielectric material or slits of electrodes.

  • Patent number: 6752619
Abstract: A clamping unit for use in an injection molding machine is proposed, wherein a plurality of tie bars are symmetrically positioned and mounted in parallel to corners of a front platen and a rear platen, and a movable platen is movably sleeved about the tie bars and positioned between the front and rear platens. A servo-motor mounted on the rear platen acts as a power source for operating the clamping unit. A belt-gear mechanism associated with the servo-motor transmits torque force and turning speed provided from the servo-motor to a ball screw transmission mechanism connected to the belt-gear mechanism. The ball screw transmission mechanism converts the torque force into axial pushing force, so as to drive a toggle linkage mechanism that interconnects the rear platen and the movable platen, and move the movable platen along the tie bars for performing mold-opening and mold-clamping operations.

  • Patent number: 6753701
Abstract: A data-sampling strobe signal generator and an input buffer using the same. The data-sampling strobe signal includes a intermediate signal generator, a comparison circuit and a logic circuit. The intermediate signal generator compares non-inverting/inverting strobe signals and generates an intermediate signal based on the comparison result. The comparison circuit compares a reference voltage with the non-inverting strobe signal and the inverting strobe signal, respectively, and outputs a control signal. The control signal is enabled when one of the non-inverted/inverting strobe signals is higher than the reference voltage and the other is lower than the reference voltage, and disabled when the non-inverting/inverting strobe signals are the same logical level. The logic circuit receives the intermediate signal and the control signal and generates the data-sampling strobe signal from the intermediate signal when the control signal is enabled.
