Abstract: A Central Processing Unit (CPU) socket having a circuit protection mechanism electrically couples a CPU to a Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The heat sink fastener matches the supports positioned on two opposing sides of the main body for mounting the heat sink on the CPU socket tightly. The protection component protrudes the main body and covers the corresponding PCB trace under the supports to protect the PCB trace from damaged by the heat sink fastener as mounting or dismounting the heat sink on the CPU socket.
Abstract: An assembly structure, consisting of a handle and a blade, having mainly a locking structure directly formed at the front of a tongue firmly integrated on the blade to provide relative insertion and movement between the said handle and the said blade with instantly precise, simple and convenient positioning as a groove inside the handle base and the tongue are in identical T-shape.
Abstract: Quantizers included in an analog-to-digital converter each compare an input analog voltage with a reference voltage to convert the analog voltage to digital data and output a voltage representative of a difference between the analog voltage and a voltage corresponding to the digital data. In each quantizer includes a comparator comparing the analog voltage with the reference voltage to output a result of comparison. An amplifier amplifies a voltage representative of a difference of the analog voltage from the reference voltage. Another amplifier inverts the voltage representative of the difference of the analog voltage from the reference voltage and amplifies the inverted voltage. A couple of switches are respectively connected to the one and the other amplifier for selecting either one of the output voltages of the amplifiers in accordance with the result of comparison.
Abstract: A vehicle light bulb has a glass bulb and a base for receiving the glass bulb. A flat portion is used to seal a bottom of the glass bulb, and at least one filament is provided inside the bulb and connected between two legs that extend out the flat portion. The base is mainly made up of a holder and a plate extending from a bottom of the holder, wherein the holder has a top defined with a slot for receiving the flat portion. At least two apertures are defined in a bottom of the plate. When the glass bulb is received in the base, the two legs individually extend through the apertures so as to electrically connect in a socket of a vehicle light, such as a brake light.
Abstract: Adjustment of correction data for the respective LEDs at the end of manufacture of a print head is performed by transferring provisional correction data from a manufacturing device to an LED driver, directly, i.e., without once being stored in a storage circuit 10c in the print head, and measuring the amounts of light from the LEDs and varying the correction data, and repeating such an operation until the correction data is optimized. The optimized correction data as well as the strobe time data determined from the measured average power are written in the storage circuit 10c. During use of the printer, the data stored in the storage circuit 10c is used for correction of the data and determination of the strobe time.

Abstract: A polyimide layer is formed over a semiconductor chip, a rewiring to be connected to each of the electrode pads of the semiconductor chip is formed over the polyimide layer, and a post serving as a terminal is connected to each of the electrode pads via the rewiring, thereby redisposing the electrode pads. A resin for encapsulating the rewirings and the posts is formed on the surface of the semiconductor chip to the extent equivalent to the dimension of the semiconductor chip, and in a groove formed in portions of the resin, around the respective posts, the topmost surface and the sidewall face of the respective posts are exposed out of the resin.
Abstract: A code division multiple access receiver estimates symbol values transmitted by different stations by despreading a combined received signal, weights the estimated symbol values by use of weighting factors calculated for the different stations, respreads the weighted symbol values to estimate the interference due to each station, and subtracts the estimated interference from the received signal to produce a residual signal. The weighting factors can be calculated from the residual signal; the weighting factors are calculated so as to minimize the power of the residual signal. The weighting factors are adjusted at certain intervals, preferably at intervals determined from the rate of fading of the received signal.
Abstract: A portable computer having identification marks. The identification marks are beside screw holes in which screws are to-be-screwed. The identification marks show the appearance of the screw, the cross-section patterns or the 3-dimentional patterns of the screws.
Abstract: In fabricating a capacitor portion of a semiconductor device, after forming an upper electrode, a resist pattern for forming a lower electrode is formed and etching processing of an insulating film layer and a first metal layer is carried out. Thus, the lower electrode and a wiring pattern can simultaneously be formed by etching the insulating film layer and the first metal layer after forming a resist pattern one time, without a resist pattern directly formed on the first metal layer.
Abstract: A method and a system are disclosed for aligning an object to be processed with a predetermined target article, with enhanced accuracy. The method includes the steps of detecting positional data with respect to the object in a state such that the object is rotated by +90 degrees with respect to a reference direction (step S104), and also detecting positional data with respect to the object in a state such that the object is rotated by −90 degrees with respect to the reference direction (step S108). A positional correction factor for the object's position can then be calculated by making use of the positional data attained by both of the above detection steps (step S109). Therefore, asymmetrical signal waveforms when the reflected alignment light is detected can be offset, so that the alignment accuracy can be enhanced.
Abstract: A heat dissipation fan that has a casing, a stator and a fan. The stator is pressed onto a sleeve secured in the casing. The stator has a coil and two pole disks respectively abutting opposite sides of the coil. A low-friction member is mounted in the sleeve. The fan is rotatably mounted in and around the stator inside the casing. A permanent magnet is mounted in the fan to make the fan a rotor. A shaft securely attached to the fan extends from the fan and passes through the low-friction member. The permanent magnet has an axial height shorter than that of the coil of the stator. The permanent magnet has a horizontal central line axially displaced from a horizontal central line of the coil of the stator. Accordingly, the fan with the shaft will not move axially during the operation of the heat dissipation fan. Power loss will be avoided.
Abstract: A moving picture coded by inter-frame coding, with motion compensation, is decoded by an apparatus that stores at least two previously decoded frames, together with information identifying any erroneous parts of the previously decoded frames. The current frame is decoded with reference to a predicted frame assembled from decodable parts of the previous frames. When a motion vector points to a non-decodable part of a previous frame, it is extended farther back to a decodable part of an earlier frame. The extension can be made linearly, or by using previous motion vectors. Picture distortion caused by error propagation is thereby reduced.
Abstract: An electrode bonding structure is disclosed for reducing the thermal expansion of a circuit board during the bonding process of the circuit board and a substrate of a flat display. The electrode bonding structure includes a substrate, a circuit board, and an anisotropic conductive film ACF. A substrate dielectric layer and an indenting pad are formed on the surface of the substrate, and the inner surface of the indenting pad is lower than the surface of the substrate dielectric layer by an indenting depth H3. The circuit board is placed parallel to the substrate, and a circuit dielectric layer and a bump pad are formed on the surface of the circuit board. The bump pad is higher than the surface of the circuit dielectric layer by a height H1. The ACF is placed between the substrate and the circuit board, and the thickness of the ACF is a thickness H2.
