  • Patent number: 5297542
Abstract: A inhalation-actuable dispensing device is provided for dispensing a metered dose of medicament in aerosol form. The device comprises a compartment (6) for receiving a metered dose aerosol container (10) having an outlet tube (12) at one end. The device has a storage chamber (13; 120) which receives a metered dose from the container. The storage chamber (13; 120) has an outlet which is closed by a valve member (44; 124) under the pressure of the dose within the storage chamber. Inhalation by a user causes a dose releasing device (34, 40, 46; 138-140) to move the valve member to an open position.

  • Patent number: 5233951
Abstract: A flow restriction controlled variable engine valve system includes a housing slidably mounted in the engine housing and movable therein in response to movement of an engine cam. A sleeve is telescoped within the housing in fluid communication with the engine oil supply and a portion of the housing. A control rod is carried by the sleeve and projects into the aforementioned portion of the housing to restrict fluid flow therebetween. A check valve is carried by the housing and closes off the fluid communication between the housing and the sleeve after movement of the housing in response to cam movement to lock up the sleeve and housing for further movement together with the sleeve being operatively connected to the valve to open it upon further movement of the locked up sleeve and housing. A velocity reduction spring is interposed between the sleeve and the valve.

  • Patent number: 5232352
Abstract: A double diaphragm pump includes a connecting shaft for interconnecting the opposed diaphragms mounted in the pump body for reciprocal movement relatively thereof and a pilot valve sleeve telescoped over the shaft and movable axially in response to movement of the connecting shaft and having a plurality of axially directed circumferentially disposed recesses thereon for fluid transfer through the pilot valve cavity. A spool valve assembly is also carried by the body in a cavity which is in selected fluid communication with a source of air pressure, the pilot valve, the atmosphere and the pressure chambers of the pump. The pilot valve sleeve also has at least one projecting annular rib which engages the usual O-rings of the cavity in which the connecting rods and pilot valve sleeve reciprocate for assisting movement past the O-rings in response to pressure from the spool valve.
