  • Patent number: 5531828
Abstract: A device for moistening the adhesive of a sheet material such as the flap of an envelope or a postage stamp, is disclosed having a container with hinged lid. A moistened sponge is stored in the container having raised a step adjacent to the latch closure of the lid with the front wall of the container and is provided with a deep recess adjacent to the hinge connection of the lid with the container. A slider is movably carried on the lid and includes a pressure plate adapted to press against the top surface of the inserted sheet material forcibly urging the adhesive surface onto the moistened sponge step. The slider has two positions, one position with the pressure plate projecting into the recess when the lid is closed and the other position when advanced to be adjacent the step. A limit stop is carried on the container beneath the sponge step for limiting pivotal movement of the lid to prevent latching of the lid when the slider is in its advanced position.

  • Patent number: 5524890
Abstract: A golf club is disclosed herein having aerodynamic characteristics reducing drag resistance to maintain maximum head speed which includes a head having a front face with a top surface and an undersurface rearwardly sloping together to define a tapered back face. The sides of the head slope in convergence from the top surface to the undersurface. A pair of open-ended arcuate passageways are provided in the head substantially in parallel with a round opening at the front face and terminating in an oval exit at the back face. The radius of the arcuate passageways lies on the radius of the golfer's swing and a pointer is located on the top surface adjacent the front face to indicate alignment with sweet spot location on the front face. The undersurface includes a pair of ridges defining a central groove and opposite side grooves with terminations at the oval exits of the passageways.

  • Patent number: 5522848
Abstract: A pacifier for an infant is disclosed herein having an elongated shield member supporting a non-luminous nipple formed thereon or wedged against and which projects outwardly from one side thereof. The opposite or reverse side includes a continuous sidewall defining an internal cavity and which is closed by a cap. The cap carries a sheet of luminescent material within the cavity adhesively secured to the cap, a recessed illuminescent graphic representation or a luminescent movable article such as a ball. The luminescent material or substance is separated from and blocked from engaging or contacting the mouth of the infant.

  • Patent number: 5519942
Abstract: A device for performing levelling and transit functions is disclosed herein having an elongated member with parallel spaced-apart top and bottom flat surfaces separated by a thickened web. The web includes several cutouts exposing bubble indicators arranged in a variety of orientations and includes a rotary module at one end movably mounting a laser beam generator. The module has a passageway conducting a laser beam to a selected one of several slots or passageways provided in the end of the member in response to manual rotation of the module by the user whereby the beam exits the device in a linear path. The web includes a housing adjacent to the module enclosing electrical circuits, battery power supply and button controls for operation of the laser. A pivoting panel is coextensive with the top flat surface in a stored position while pivotal to a position normal to the top flat surface when used as a corner square.

  • Patent number: 5513985
Abstract: A dental impression tray is disclosed herein having a pair of spaced-apart arcuate walls having a common radial center and wherein the opposing wall surfaces define a work area for holding a quantity of dental impression material. A thin plastic embedded fibrous membrane or sheet or a non-woven fabric material extends across the work area having its opposite edges attached to the walls and separating the walls into upper and lower wall sections. One end of the walls may or may not support a wire element while the opposite walls' ends are open. The opposing wall surfaces carry a plurality of alternate vertical grooves and rod-like projections disposed in parallel and split horizontally by the fibrous membrane. The root of each projection includes a recessed portion in order to engage with the impression material and a handle attached to an outer wall of the pair outwardly extends anteriorly therefrom. A tongue retractor structure may be integrated on an inner wall of the pair.

  • Patent number: 5504953
Abstract: A cushion is disclosed herein for supporting a pregnant woman in a face-down position for resting and preparatory to and during a massaging procedure. The cushion is composed of a soft, foam-like material having a central recess or cavity defined in a surrounding continuous ridge to provide an integral unitary construction. The ridge includes sidewalls joined at a front end by a neck and chin transverse end wall and joined as a rear end by a leg and knee support. Sloping wall sections join the sidewalls with the leg and knee support whereby a flat planar surface of the leg and knee support resides below the top surface of the sidewalls. Internal sloping walls connect the front and rear ends with the bottom of the recess or cavity. A cushioned insert is carried within the recess that is reversible and having opposite textured or contoured sides. A cover, a handle and a carrying strap complete the construction.
