  • Patent number: 4655273
Abstract: In an ingot mould casting device for casting a melt, the ingot moulds (1, 1a, 1b) of the individual ingot mould units (35, 36, 37) are movable in a U-shaped clamp (13), wherein at the free ends (43) of the U-shaped clamp (13) there is provided an ingot mould holding- and pulling-apart mechanism. With the aid of this ingot mould holding-and pulling-apart mechanism, the ingot moulds are opened so far, after casting has been effected in the casting position, until the resistance during pulling-apart of the ingot mould (1, 1a, 1b) drops to the resistance with respect to the shifting of the ingot mould half (1b) movable on the guide rods (2). In a second phase, the movable ingot mould half (1b) is moved completely away from the non-movable ingot mould half (1a). The discharged parts fall onto the conveyor belt (18). The entire operation from the actuation of the starting button (42) of an ingot mould arrangement can take place automatically.

  • Patent number: 4655282
Abstract: In order to create a space-saving, block-like heat exchanger duct bundle 14 from externally wired heat exchanger tubes without additional support structures, the heat exchanger ducts each consist of a core tube 3 having a coiled wire wrapping of wiring 16 extending over the entire length of the core tube (3), the turns of the coil are shaped so that the periphery of the wrapped coil has oppositely situated flat zones 13 to enable the ducts to be packed together. Preferably the peripheries of the wrapped coils are hexagonal in cross-section as shown so that the bundle forms a honeycomb structure.

  • Patent number: 4655446
Abstract: A storage compartment can be used selectively as an individual compartment attached to a document processing device or as one of several compartments joined together in a sorting device. The compartment is functionally autonomous so that its component parts, which are drive and pressure rollers (23, 24, 25, and 27) for conveying documents supported on a base plate (1) and a motor (40) and electrical coupling for actuating the rollers, are all connected to the base plate (1). The only mechanical connection between the compartment and a document processing device or other compartments in a sorting device is by a plug (28) for electrical connection. Special shaping of the base plate (1) facilitates space-saving packaging of several compartments.

  • Patent number: 4656014
Abstract: In a process for reducing the NO.sub.x content of waste gases by a catalytic reduction of the NO.sub.x gases using a washable catalyst, a solution is to be provided, with which, while retaining the advantages of the procedure known from the German Offenlegungsschrift No. 3,107,117, this danger is avoided and which is suitable for use with a large range of waste gases, that is, which in particular is not restricted to nitric acid plants. This is accomplished owing to the fact that the reduction is carried out using unsaturated hydrocarbons at a temperature equal to or less than 180.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4655480
Abstract: A molded tapping member for connecting a branch line to a pipeline includes a U-shaped saddle piece with a shell-shaped bight section and a pair of laterally spaced legs each extending outwardly from an opposite end of the bight section. The legs are formed of partial sections connected to one another by a film hinge. After positioning the tapping member on the pipeline by moving it radially toward the pipeline axis, the bight section and the legs are pressed around the pipeline. A heating wire mat is incorporated into the U-shaped saddle piece so that it fits closely around the pipeline for welding the tapping member to the pipeline. With the construction of this saddle piece a uniform welding pressure can be established during the welding operation.

  • Patent number: 4655464
Abstract: In a drill chuck for securing the shank of a tool in a hand-held device, clamping jaws are mounted in a chuck member and bear radially outwardly against the conically shaped surface in a first sleeve into which the tool shank is inserted. A second sleeve is connected to the first sleeve and is threaded engagement with the chuck member. A locking or third sleeve is located about the first and second sleeves. The third sleeve is axially displaceable between a first position and a second position. In the first position the third sleeve engages the first and second sleeves so that the second sleeve cannot be rotated relative to the first sleeve or the chuck member and the tool shank can be locked by the clamping jaws. When the third sleeve is displaced into the second position, the second sleeve is released and can be rotated relative to the chuck member for axially displacing the first sleeve relative to the chuck member and adjusting the radial position of the clamping jaws.

  • Patent number: 4655439
Abstract: In a shock strut for a vehicle including a spring plate for supporting a helical spring, a receiving or catching member is connected to the spring plate. The receiving member prevents any lateral movement of the helical spring in the event of a spring failure. A simple connection of the receiving member to the spring plate is provided independently of the materials used for these members. The connection is afforded by downwardly projecting parts on the receiving member which extend through suitably dimensioned openings in the spring plate.

  • Patent number: 4653675
Abstract: A hand-held motor driven extruding device for dispensing a plastic substance such as a sealing compound, a bonding agent and the like, utilizes a multi-part telescopic threaded spindle in place of a single piston rod. The threaded spindle includes a first spindle section fixed in the housing of the device. The first spindle section can be rotated in both directions around its axis, but is secured against displacement in the axial direction. At least one threaded spindle section can be extended and retracted relative to the first threaded section so that in the retracted condition the spindle sections are arranged one within the other. The piston is secured to the end of the spindle section spaced most remotely from the first spindle section in the extended condition and the piston is fixed against relative rotation with respect to the spindle section to which it is secured.

  • Patent number: 4653551
Abstract: In a filling machine for filling liquid into containers, such as bottles or the like, the lower end of a return gas tube inserted into the container determines the filling height. Rapid adjustment of the position of the lower end of the return gas tube can be provided when different sized containers are used in the filling machine. Two different adjustment devices are used, one for the movement of the return gas tube with a centering device which holds the container during the filling operation and another one for producing precise adjustment of the lower end of the return gas tube with respect to the desired filling height and with such movement being relative to the centering device in the container holding position.

  • Patent number: 4653892
Abstract: An apparatus for axially moving a photographic lens barrel in a camera by a corresponding number of steps to the number of driving pulses supplied to a rocking coil in a magnetic field, as motion of the coil is transmitted through a ratchet mechanism with a cam to the barrel. In synchronism with the falling edge of each driving pulse at which the ratchet mechanism starts to return to its initial position by the bias force of a spring, a negative going pulse of shorter duration than that of the driving pulse is applied to the coil to speed up the setting of the barrel.
