Abstract: A heating system for a vehicle has a heating air blower (24) for generating a heating air stream to be introduced into the interior space of a vehicle, a heater (22) with a heat exchanger arrangement (26) for heating the heating air stream being delivered by the heating air blower (24), a mixing arrangement (20) for setting an outside air/ambient air ratio of the air to be fed to the heat exchanger arrangement (26), an outside temperature sensor arrangement (60) for generating an output linked with an outside temperature, and an actuating device (42, 46). The actuating device (42, 46) actuates the mixing arrangement (20) for setting the outside air/ambient air ratio on the basis of an output of the outside temperature sensor arrangement (60).

Abstract: A system and method are described for reducing engine vibration during cylinder deactivation in selected operating conditions. The method utilizes open valve deactivation to better match the cylinder pressure of deactivated cylinders to combusting cylinders. This mode is utilized, along with cylinder closed valve cylinder deactivation, to improve overall fuel economy, while at the same time reducing vibration felt by the vehicle driver.

Abstract: The invention relates to a pneumatic gripper assembly structure which comprised a supporting body (11, 111) composed of at least two wall elements or symmetrical half-shells (15, 115), realized and finished individually using a forming process and then put together to form a single body capable of receiving, supporting and guiding other structural and functional components of the gripper assembly. The complementary wall elements or half-bodies are produced using die-casting, sintering or forging techniques with material compatible for such processes and provides a housing for jaws and a drive piston of the gripper.
Abstract: A machine tool is provided, in particular for the synchronous machining of workpieces. The tool includes two or more spindle units (2, 3), which run parallel in a machining unit and are designed to hold tools and repositioning devices for the precise adjustment of the position of the spindle units (2, 3) in relation to one another, preferably in all three directions x, y and z of the orthogonal co-ordinate system in the machining unit (4). The repositioning devices for displacing at least one of the spindle units (2, 3), at least in an x and/or y direction, include an eccentric bush (5, 6), which can be rotated about a central shaft (B1, B2) and locked and in which the spindle units (2, 3) are mounted eccentrically, parallel to the central shaft (B1, B2).

Abstract: The invention relates to a new method and system for optimizing the efficiency of an automotive catalytic converter by adjusting the engine air/fuel ratio based on estimates of the actual amount of oxidants stored in the catalyst. The oxidant storage capacity of the catalyst is adjusted by controlling engine spark in response to an estimate of a current amount of oxidants stored in the catalyst and an estimate of the total available oxidant storage capacity of the catalyst. To maintain engine speed in spite of adjustments to the engine spark, the engine air mass is also adjusted.

A height adjusting mechanism is attached to the headrest bush at a position corresponding to an upper end portion of a seat back. Abstract: A method for controlling an engine having both an electronically controlled inlet device, such as an electronic throttle unit, and an electronically controlled outlet device, such as a variable cam timing system is disclosed. The method of the present invention achieves cylinder air charge control that is faster than possible by using an inlet device alone. In other words, the method of the present invention controls cylinder air charge faster than manifold dynamics by coordination of the inlet and outlet device. This improved control is used to improve various engine control functions.
