Abstract: A system for electronically actuating valves in an engine. The system includes first and second voltage sources, and a plurality of valve actuator subsystems coupled therebetween. Each valve actuator subsystem has a valve actuator and a switch configured to selectively control application of voltage to the valve actuator to thereby selectively control energization of the valve actuator. The system also includes a dissipation switch operatively coupled with the valve actuator subsystems, the dissipation switch being selectively operable to control dissipation of energy from any of the valve actuators.
Abstract: A method to deliver spark during a start for an internal combustion engine is described. The method provides individual cylinder spark angle control based on the number of fueled cylinder events. The method offers improved engine emissions while maintaining engine speed run-up performance.
Abstract: A system, method, and device for use in videoconferencing. The method typically includes installing a videoconferencing services switch at an access point to an IP network, and registering a plurality of subscribers for videoconferencing services. Each subscriber typically has a plurality of endpoints. The method further includes receiving subscriber-specific settings to be applied to multiple videoconferencing calls from the plurality of endpoints associated with each subscriber. The method further includes storing the subscriber-specific settings at a location accessible to the switch, and configuring the switch to connect calls from the plurality of endpoints at each subscriber based on the corresponding subscriber-specific settings.
Abstract: A wet offset printing form has a top layer containing a photocatalytically and thermally modifiable material. The material can be brought photocatalytically into a hydrophilic state by irradiation with light and into a lipophilic state by heating. The hydrophilic state forms a surface that can be illustrated and the lipophilic state forms an illustrated surface. The top layer of the wet offset printing form may contain absorption centers for irradiation, especially for laser radiation in the NIR range, with which heating of the top layer in the pattern of an image is brought about.
Abstract: A pelletizing die includes a pelletizing die member with a die exit side exposed to cooling fluid and a die entry side for receiving polymer fed thereto. The die member has a plurality of polymer channels and a plurality of extrusion orifices connected to a respective one of the channels to form a extrusion orifice section. A heating medium system has additional heating medium conduits between channels and a supply and intermediate header for heating the channels (radially from each side) and providing once in and once out heating medium flow. The die member may be formed by high temperature brazing of components using coordinated solder (Ni based or gold-nickel) and component heat treatment temperature. A thin hard face coating may be provided on raised extrusion orifice ring faces around each extrusion orifice section.

Abstract: In a projection device including a casing having an inlet vent and an outlet vent, and a plurality of components including a light source disposed within the casing, a blower system is provided, wherein the blower system includes a plurality of blower portions operable to draw air into the casing through an inlet vent, circulate air among the plurality of components, and eject circulated air from the casing through an outlet vent; and a blower motor configured to operate the plurality of blower portions.
Abstract: The invention relates to an order picking system (1) with at least one automatic commissioning machine (2) having article racks (3) in which channels (4) for articles are positioned which are inclined in relation to the horizontal. Said channels comprise an article stop element and an article distributing device on their lower longitudinal ends and can be filled with new articles at their other, higher longitudinal ends on the rack loading side (B). The order picking system provided for in the invention is characterized in that a movable rack steering unit (5) has an article handling device (51) which is mobile in three dimensions and has an article stack retaining device (52) which can contain a vertical stack of articles and can be positioned vertically at each higher longitudinal end of an article channel (4) on the rack loading side (B).
Abstract: The invention concerns a knitted-fabric garment in the shape of underpants, in which the crutch area is made up by a knitted-fabric prolongation without interruption with the rear part and folded up in order to be placed upon the front part of the garment body, forming there a front central panel. This front panel is fixed only at the outer points of a free end of the front part and at level with the waist-encircling edge, defining with the front part two side symmetrical openings, both communicating with a horizontal opening that comes out between the panel itself and the front-part free end. The invention concerns also a manufacturing method of the said garment.

The personal watercraft typically includes a body including a hull and a deck covering the deck from above, a water jet pump configured to propel the watercraft and including a pump shaft extending in a longitudinal direction of the body, a V-type four-cycle engine mounted within the body and configured to drive the water jet pump, wherein the engine includes a crankshaft, an output shaft extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to the crankshaft and connected to the pump shaft, the output shaft being configured to output rotation transmitted from the crankshaft to outside the engine, and a rotation transmission system configured to transmit the rotation of the crankshaft to the output shaft, wherein the engine is mounted within the body in such a manner that the crankshaft extends in a width direction of the body.
Abstract: An exhaust valve downstream of a diesel engine splits exhaust gasses between two catalysts. In one position, most of the exhaust gasses go to a first catalyst, and the remaining exhaust gasses, along with injected reductant go to a second catalyst. In a second position, most of the exhaust gasses go to the second catalyst, and the remaining exhaust gasses, along with injected reductant go to the first catalyst. In this way, a reduced cost system is achieved.

Abstract: A process and system are provided for clearing modes of operation of a medical engineering device, especially modes of operation on a respirator (1), such as IMV (Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation, CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) or HFV (High-Frequency Ventilation). The clearing is performed with an external electronic, optical or magnetic storage medium, e.g., a chip card (2), on which data that determine the available modes of operation and optionally the duration of their availability are present. The data on the chip card (2) are read by a writing and reading unit (3) of the respirator (1). The data may be coded, the duration of availability of a mode of respiration may be controlled by keeping a time log (9) on the chip card, and the corresponding time periods are debited from the time log (9) each time a certain mode of operation is used.
