  • Patent number: 7002951
Abstract: A network system and method use a distributed network and a network processor connected to the network. System data storage is provided connected to the processor. Administrator data packets including contact telephone data and voice packets are sent by the processor when the network processor receives alert data including one or more of status data, fault data and error data. The administrator data packets include voice data sent as voice packets. The system is advantageously used with a telephone line network interface connected to a public telephone line and connected to the network. The voice packets may be converted to analogue voice signals at the telephone line network interface for the call or the data may be sent to a remote device and converted to analogue at the remote device (or a device connected to the remote device). The system may also be used with network telephones. Each network telephone is connected to the network and sends packets to and receives packets from the network.

  • Patent number: 7000588
Abstract: A method for controlling an engine having both an electronically controlled inlet device, such as an electronic throttle unite, and an electronically controlled outlet device, such as a variable cam timing system is disclosed. The method of the present invention achieves cylinder air charge control that is faster than possible by using an inlet device alone. In other words, the method of the present invention controls cylinder air charge faster than manifold dynamics by coordination of the inlet and outlet device. This improved control is used to improve various engine control functions.

  • Patent number: 7001076
Abstract: A housing for receiving a bearing component is presented, which has a shaft projection, which can be inserted into the recess of the end area of a hollow section and can be pressed together with the end area, wherein the shaft projection is provided with a groove profile, in which the groove profile is prepared by a deformation process or an original shaping process. Notch effect and consequently a weakening of the cross section on the highly stressed shaft projection is avoided by the said processes. The present invention pertains, moreover, to such a groove profile located at a shaft projection of a housing.

  • Patent number: 7000383
Abstract: A method and a system for improved reductant delivery to an exhaust gas aftertreatment device for a lean burn internal combustion engine exhaust are presented. The system includes a heated evaporator unit into which a mixture of reductant and air in injected, wherein the mixture is vaporized and introduced into the exhaust gas aftertreatment device. Introducing the reductant mixed with air into the heated evaporator unit prevents lacquering and soot deposits on the heated element housed inside the unit, and also speeds up the vaporization process due to better reductant distribution thus reducing system response delays and improving conversion efficiency of the exhaust gas aftertreatment device. The reductant delivery system is further improved by adding a catalyst to it, and by preventing the reductant and air mixture from coming into direct contact with the surface of the heating element.

  • Patent number: 7000792
Abstract: A self-opening mechanism for a cap is capable of maintaining a restoring force of an elastic member and easily and tightly locking the cap and also releasing the locking. The mechanism has an elastic member (4) that is attached to an inner side of a hinge (3), and also a stopper block (7) is provided in a direction in which the elastic member (4) deforms so that the elastic member (4) deforms to an S-shaped form. Engagement pieces (10, 10a) in the cap (2) side are inserted into and fixed between hooks (16, 16a) of a push piece (18) and a protruding engagement pieces (15, 15a) to lock the cap more tightly. As the hook (16, 16a) moves upward and moves away from the protruding engagement pieces (15, 15a) when the push piece (18) is pressed, the engagement pieces (10, 10a) are released and a cover (2) automatically opens due to the restoring force of the elastic member (4).

  • Patent number: 7003218
Abstract: An incubator hood for an incubator for premature and newborn babies as well as to a process for regulating the temperature of an incubator hood are provided. The problem frequently occurring in incubator hoods is that the incubator hoods lead to heat losses at the premature and newborn babies and that water of condensation precipitates on the inside of the incubator in such incubator hoods, and this water of condensation obstructs the view and facilitates the growth of microorganisms in the incubator. This can be counteracted by a heated incubator hood. The comparatively complicated regulation processes, which requires the installation of temperature sensors in the incubator hood is avoided by the use of interior heating wires (1) in which temperature-dependent electric resistors (3), preferably PTC resistors with a nominal response temperature of about 37° C., are arranged.

Abstract: A breathing gas humidifier system for a patient includes a replaceable, closed water reservoir (1) with stable pressure, provided for receiving a water reserve for the breathing gas humidifier system. An intermediate storage unit (4) with water is closed from the environment and is located under the water reservoir. The water reservoir (1) and the intermediate storage unit (4) have a valve (16, 14) each, with one of the valves cooperating with the other valve, so that there is a flow connection between the water reservoir (1) and the intermediate storage unit (4) only when the water reservoir (1) is received in a connector (2) of the intermediate storage unit (4). The intermediate storage unit (4) is connected via a water connection line (5) located below the water level to a heated evaporator chamber (7), which opens above the water evaporating at the boiling point into the breathing gas line to a patient.
