Abstract: A sewing machine is provided with a device for stopping the drive in the case of a thread disturbance. The device has a light source, a first light guide device for transmitting the light beams to the monitoring point, a second light guide device, via which a signal can be sent to a receiver in the absence of thread at the monitoring point, and a control unit for signal evaluation and to report a thread disturbance, even in the case of maximum deflection of the thread at right angles to the pull-off direction, only when a thread disturbance does really exist. To achieve this, the first light guide device is designed, on its side facing the thread, in a plane perpendicular to the thread pull-off direction, with a radiation outlet which extends preferably in the horizontal direction. The first light guide device causes light beams to be sent over the maximum range of movement of the thread at equal radiation intensity over an entire radiation cross section.
Abstract: The present invention pertains to fin-stabilized projectile ammunition, in which fin-stabilized projectiles are arranged in a cartridge case filled with propellant charge powder. According to the present invention, the spaces between the fins of the tail plane (4) of the fin-stabilized projectile (13) are filled with prefabricated shaped bodies (7) made from propellant charge powders. These shaped bodies in the ammunition are adjacent to the propellant charge powder in the cartridge case, and permit optimal utilization of the free space between the tail plane fins (20) of the projectiles being filled with high-energy propellant charge. Furthermore, the shaped bodies according to the present invention prevent corrosion of the tail plane fins during the burning off of the ammunition, and facilitate the manufacture of the ammunition.

Abstract: The invention provides a vertical internal combustion engine with overhead valves wherein a crankshaft is vertically arranged and the cylinder is horizontally arranged. A carburetor is arranged on one side of the cylinder and a muffler is arranged on another side of the cylinder, opposite the carburetor. A suction port is connected to the carburetor by a horizontal straight line portion and a curved portion, leading from the horizontal straight line portion to a suction valve. The horizontal straight line portion includes a center line and the carburetor includes a center which is substantially aligned with the center line of the horizontal straight line portion, along a straight line. The exhaust port is connected to the muffler by an exhaust passage having a center line which passes through the center of the exhaust port and crosses the center line of the horizontal straight line portion, diagonally from below.
Abstract: A shower arm (9) drive for a bidet is provided in which the shower arm, a lever type drive mechanism (37), a piston cylinder (36), and a water distributor (34) are fastened on a support plate (1). To extend the shower arm (9) for the showering process, the pressure chamber (39) of the piston cylinder (36) is connected to the water mains by actuating a pressure switch. The piston (21) is pushed forward against the restoring force of a compression spring by the pressure of the water fowing into the chamber (39), and the shower arm (9) is extended via the lever type drive mechanism (37). A control valve (12) regulates the admission of warm shower water to a nozzle (10) arranged at the front end of the shower arm (9). The drive permits space-saving arrangement and the installation of the drive in a water closet lid.
Abstract: A hand-held massager having a plurality of attachments; all the attachments being driven by a single drive unit via a rotating cam so that massaging is effected by increasing the massaging range and gently patting the skin surface.
Abstract: Use of metal complex dyes comprised of metalizable azo compounds to dye metal-tanned leather which makes possible good permeability and excellent color fastness to rubbing and color fastness to light.
Abstract: The flowrate of fluid to be measured, that flows into the nozzle of a fluidic oscillator is stabilized by fitting flow adjusting plates on the upstream side of the nozzle.
Abstract: A device for accelerating the action of common expansive mortars (M) (used as a replacement for explosive products for demolition and cutting operations on blocks of rock or concrete) comprises at least one heating element (1), which is introduced into the hole (3) within the action of the mortar (M) is to be exerted, in order, to heat the mass of said mortar (M) sufficiently to accelerate the chemical reactions which determine the expansion thereof.

Abstract: The apparatus comprises a camera (13) in front of which two reflecting surfaces (11A, 11B) are disposed in vertical planes inclined to each other and symmetrical with respect to the axis of the camera; a pair of mirrors (17A, 17B) send back the image of the subject (S), taken on two different angles, towards said reflecting surfaces (11A, 11B) which project the images towards the objective (15).
Abstract: To adjust the axial spreading movement of distributing rollers (30) in rotary printing presses, at least one eccentric stud (18) is mounted which is rotatable around its axis of rotation (19) in a rotatably drivable housing (3). The housing rotates around the axis of rotation (9) which is located at a distance (a) from the axis of rotation of the eccentric stud. The eccentric stud (18) has an eccentric pin (20), which is arranged at least at one of its ends and is located at the same distance (a) from the axis of rotation (19) of the eccentric stud (18). The eccentric stud (18) is rotatable via a sleeve (10) and via the planetary gear (16), i.e., the distance of the eccentric pin (20) from the axis of rotation (9) can be changed. The eccentric pin (20) transforms its rotary movement via a sliding block (29) into a reciprocating movement, with which the distributing roller (30) is axially driven.
Abstract: In safety circuits for braking or arresting devices (7) of flywheel masses or machine parts, especially a revolving door, which are driven by electric motor and can be switched on electrically, in which at least one of two edges moving toward each other is provided with a pressure-sensitive electrical switching member (3) for generating interference signals. Interference signals generated during a disturbance are sent to an electronic control unit (1) and are used, by an electronic switch (8), to switch off the drive motor (10) and/or to switch on a braking or arresting device (7). The movement of the part provided with the movable edge or element is stopped even when the electrical switch (8) of the control unit (1) does not respond correctly in the presence of an interference signal. The reliability of the safety circuit is continuously checked.

Abstract: A suspension type aerosol inhalations containing (a) 0.015 to 5.00% (w/w) of a pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidine compound of the formula: ##STR1## where R is a n-propyl or allyl group, A is a tetrazolyl or carboxyl group, and n is a whole number of 0 to 2, and (b) 0.015 to 5.00% (w/w) of a fatty acid ester.
Abstract: The invention relates to a protective plug (1) for connector banks (20) of telecommunication and data systems, comprising a housing (2) for receiving protective elements (7, 8, 9) connected to establish an electrical connection to an earth rail (44) and with a disconnector contact (43) to a bifurcated contact (41) or to circuit tracks (10) provided on a plug tongue, resp. The disconnector contact (43) is provided with terminal contacts (53) for incoming and outgoing cable conductors. In order to provide a protective plug (1) which protects against overvoltages and serves as well as a fuse against overcurrents and for which the outside dimensions allow a close-fit construction of several protective plugs (1), the plug tongue (5) is a printed-circuit board (4, 4a) extending into the housing (2). Two housing compartments (21, 22) are formed inside the housing (2).
Abstract: A main mirror for a reflecting telescope comprises plurality of individual polygonal reflecting elements (1 to 11) and positioning and adjusting elements (12) connected thereto. Prior art main mirrors of this type have a poor capacity for transmitting ponint images and for modulation and are unsuitable for use in the infrared region, because the positioning and adjustment elements, in particular the measurement sensors arranged in the region of the separating lignes between the individual polygonal reflecting elements (1 to 11) emit interfering thermal radiation. Furthermore, the polygonal reflecting elements (1 to 11) of prior art main mirrors (20) are expensive to manufacture.

Abstract: A device for obtaining hot drinks in solution, especially hot drinks made from a freeze-dried product. The freeze-dried product is dispensed in a predetermined dose into a treatment chamber. The treatment chamber is closed and air, liquid, and steam are injected into the treatment chamber in order to dissolve the predetermined dose and to create the hot drink.
