  • Patent number: 5098508
Abstract: A workbench is constructed, with which the individual parts of a two-dimensional compound workpiece, for example, a shoe upper, can be assembled accurately without any need for subsequent adjustment operations. The workbench comprises a central, e.g. stationary, bench plate and at least one folding plate hinged onto it, which can be folded over onto the bench plate. At least the folding plate contains holding devices, e.g., in the form of a suction device, with which the individual part located on it can be held in position before and during folding over. The individual parts are adjusted preferably with templates in a mutually adjusted manner before the folding plate is folded over. The workbench can be used in cooperation with an adhesive applying machine.

  • Patent number: 5097813
Abstract: A heating device for pre-heating liquid fuel, especially diesel fuel and for heating devices of a low heating performance which are independent from a motor have a heating performance which is suitable for mounting into vehicles, which are driven by the liquid fuel. The pre-heating is effected by a transmission of heat of the exhaust gas to the fuel of the heating device, the fuel being lead through a continuous tubular wrapping in one layer or through a hollow cylinder formed or positioned around the exhaust pipe. This wrapping or hollow cylinder is part of the fuel main from the fuel tank to the fuel supply pump of the heating device. A pre-heating of the content of the tank is effected by the return of the pre-heated, but not burnt fuel through a fuel return main back into the tank. A heat transmitting jacket is advantageously disposed between the wrapping, or a hollow cylinder and the exhaust gas pipe.

  • Patent number: 5097996
Abstract: A clothes hanger of the type having two elongated flat plates which clamp an article of clothing between them. The clamping force coming from two W-shaped metal rods which are squeezed together by the hook which is used to hang the clothes hanger from a rod. The elongated flat plates of the hanger have a plurality of studs and a plurality of holes. The studs on one of the elongated flat plates are staggered with the studs on the other elongated plate. The studs of one elongated flat plate are aligned with the holes on the other elongated flat plate. The combining of the studs and the holes cause a very secure grip on an article of clothing which is placed in between the two flat plates before the flat plates are clamped together.

  • Patent number: 5095834
Abstract: A sewing machine with a pivotable stitch formation unit is provided such that it is possible to form a straight stitch or a zigzag stitch seam without loop stitches occurring on the fabric. The fabric is displaceable under the needle without rotation because of a pivoting arrangement of the head and the shuttle holder. The arrangement allows the sewing machine to be switched over from a straight stitch to a zigzag stitch operation due to the adjustment of the oscillation frequency of the needle bar holder relative to the oscillation frequency of the needle bar by means of a multistep shifting gear.

Abstract: The improved roofing shingle has a body portion of generally flat, four-sided polygonal configuration and relatively thin in thickness. The body portion is provided with a plurality of irregular corrugations or otherwise deformed to give the roofing shingle the appearance of natural wood or other natural material such as slate. The body portion has a channel formed in the under surface so that the upper surface forms a ridge extending substantially parallel to the upper edge of the body portion. The body portion is also provided adjacent each of the opposite side or vertical edges with raised portions which are so shaped and dimensioned as to have one raised portion nest within the raised portion of a next adjacent like roofing shingle.
