  • Patent number: 4941642
Abstract: The invention relates to a negative mold containing a plurality of mold portions which can be detached from each other. It functions in particular for the manufacture of shapes consisting of plastic. The two mold halves enclose a molding chamber receiving the material to be shaped. In the chamber is arranged at least one insert abutting at least one projection which together form the negative for a surface depression to be produced in the shape. On the insert a fastening shank is arranged with the transition region being located in the region of the associated mold portion surface and being formed as gradation. Thereby the insert in contact with the mold half covers completely the orifice of the opening containing the shank and, in addition, projects beyond the opening edge.

  • Patent number: 4940872
Abstract: A discharge machining apparatus adapted to quickly absorb the energy, which has been accumulated by an inductance component during discharge machining, during the non-discharge period. The accumulated energy is absorbed as it is caused to flow as a current in an equivalent resistor having a resistance varying function. With this invention, it becomes possible to increase the frequency of discharges per unit time since the energy is quickly absorbed without residue as the change in the resistance value of the equivalent resistor causes the current flowing in it to shift from an oscillating state to a normal damping state.

  • Patent number: 4936193
Abstract: The present invention provides a protective device for a working member, such as the piston rod of a piston and cylinder actuator, which is arranged at least partly in a receiving member and is able to be moved and more especially slid, along a curved or straight path so that it projects to a greater or lesser extent out of the receiving member. The device is provided with a plurality of sleeve-like guard sections which surround the working member projecting out of the receiving member along the full length of the working member so that whatever the position of the latter any two adjacent guard sections overlap each other and are able to be slid in relation to each other, one of said guard sections being stationarily arranged on the receiving member and another guard section being arranged on the working member so as to move therewith so that in accordance with the actual axial extent of the part of the member to be protected the sections are telescoped into each other to a greater or lesser extent.

  • Patent number: 4936235
Abstract: A sewing machine with an upper transport mechanism includes an arrangement with a pressing foot and a transport foot wherein the mass accelerations due to the movement of these members is reduced. A triangular lever member is provided with lever arms 34b, 34c which are linked with the presser foot and upper transport foot. The triangular lever member is linked so as to be angularly movable to an extent of the respective lever arms. Connecting rods of the presser foot and the upper transport foot are connected to the lever arms and are driven thereby. The movement of the connecting rods and the lever arms reduces the mass force of the respective transport foot and the presser foot. To further reduce the mass forces, the upper transport foot and the presser foot are spring loaded with respect to respective carrying elements of the upper transport foot and presser foot so that a damping action occurs.

  • Patent number: 4937568
Abstract: A remote control system comprises a central control station and at least one local station installed remotely from the central control station and connected thereto through a power transmission line. The local station has a plurality to devices connected in parallel to one another at the output. The power for actuating the devices is supplied from the central control station. For controlling actuation of the devices, binary control signals are serially sent from the central control station to the local station through the power transmission line in synchronism with clock pulses in a train including a start pulse. In the local station, the binary control signal are extracted in response to the start signal and converted into parallel control signals by utilizing the clock pulses to be applied to output circuits provided for controlling the devices.

  • Patent number: 4935206
Abstract: A process for the measuring of flat discoloration zones of an indicator substrate, which is transported into a measuring position and treated with a gaseous test medium there, is improved with regard to the measuring dynamic and the construction of the apparatus by producing a flow of the test medium along the surface of the section of an indicator substrate held in a measuring position, by providing several optical control zones staggered in the longitudinal direction of the test flow and by connecting it with an electronic evaluation instrument for the production of the measurement in such a way that the actual measure value is formed from the measuring of the discoloration of the indicator substrate along the control zones.

  • Patent number: 4935597
Abstract: The invention concerns a process and a device for seeking and following a hollow weld during a shielded arc welding, especially welding with carbon dioxide gas. The welding torch is moved by a path-controlled manipulator, whereby prior to the welding the positional coordinates of one or more weld reference point of the hollow weld are found by mechanical contour probing and the actual position of the hollow weld found therefrom is saved in the path control. The lengthwise guidance is then done only through the appropriately corrected path control, only the height of the welding torch above the toe of the weld being adjusted in dependence on the welding current. The mechanical contour probing is done by contact sensing of the sides of the weld adjacent to the weld reference point, and the coordinates of the weld root point are computed from these data.

  • Patent number: 4934907
Abstract: A device for transporting and preheating fuel which is susceptible to cold temperatures comprises a pump which has an electromagnetic coil which is supplied with current to move a plunger for pumping the fuel so as to transport it. The plunger is returned for example, by a return spring and the electromagnetic coil is set out so that a maximum portion of the coil heats a fuel as it is passed through a pumping space. In accordance with the method of the invention, the coil has its own current supply control which advantageously may be set to supply a heating current which is in excess of that required for moving the plunger. A return spring set for returning the plunger may also be made stronger than necessary to effect return and the timing of the operation of the coil for moving the plunger may be set to be longer than necessary in order to keep the coil at a higher operating temperature and thus transform more heat to the fuel.
