Abstract: A holder for thin items including a backing sheet and a plurality of strips. The plurality of strips include several standard strips having a width equal to the width of the backing sheet and a top strip and a bottom strip having a width equal to the backing sheet and having a length smaller than the standard strips. Each of the strips is connected to a backing sheet along a longitudinal line running along the length of the backing sheet. Each of the longitudinal connecting lines is parallel to a longitudinal connecting line of an adjacent strip. Transverse connecting lines connect each of the strips except for the top strip to the backing sheet. Transverse connecting lines extend from an associated longitudinal connecting line toward an upper edge of each of the strips. The transverse connecting lines terminate a distance before the upper edge of the strip so as to provide an upper overlap portion.
Abstract: This invention relates to a skateboard which includes two footboards with each footboard consisting of a foot platform and a wheel-set which carries two wheels in axial alignment fixed to the underside of the platform, a spacer element for holding the footboards in a spaced relationship and a pivot arrangement having a vertical pivot axis connecting each footboard to the spacer element to enable both footboards to pivot relatively to the spacer element.

Abstract: An electronic musical instrument having a number of keys, having tone generators capable of simultaneous tone production, the tone generators being smaller in number than the number of keys. The instrument forms an operation for synthesizing a desired waveform, the operation for synthesizing a desired waveform being performed in a repeating cyclic order with an operation cycle and in which the waveform is transferred to the tone generators and read out therefrom at a rate in accordance with the note of a key being depressed to obtain a desired musical waveform. The device includes a number-of-depressed keys detecting device which counts the number of keys which are actuating the tone generator upon depression. A cycle altering device is provided for changing the operation cycle, as a whole, on the basis of the number of depressed keys, counted by the number-of-depressed keys detecting device. The construction allows for a waveform of a smooth temporal variation to be produced.
Abstract: A device for use with sewing machines for transport of work pieces. The transport device removes finished workpieces from a sewing area and feeds the workpieces to a transfer point at which the end section of the work piece is held with little force to allow the workpiece to be gripped by a stacking element. The arrangement allows for the next workpiece to be inserted into the sewing area simultaneous with the removal of the finished workpiece. The transport device includes a swivelable arm carrying a driven conveyor belt. The arm may be swivelled upward once the front section of the work piece has been moved underneath the swivelling axis of the arm, so that a new workpiece can be inserted. The conveyor belt can be arrested before the end section of the workpiece passes through. The conveyor belt contact pressure can be reduced such that the work piece can be pulled out easily by a stacker.
Abstract: The invention relates to a slider (1) for track vehicles which allows for horizontal relative movements in the longitudinal as well as in the latitudinal direction between the superstructure, such as a freight car body or another vehicle body, and the running gear or between running gear parts. The invention has the task of retaining the effect of the friction in a slider of the described kind in one horizontal direction while eliminating it in the other direction. This problem is solved by mounting the slider on coupling elements, which allow for a nearly unrestricted sliding of the slider within a certain range in one of the two horizontal directions (longitudinally or latitudinally) and which fix the slider rigidly in the other one of the two horizontal directions.

Abstract: The invention provides an electrical igniter for an adaptive cartridge of a subcaliber barrel system by which the firing pin extension (12) is arranged axially movable by means of a guide (13) made of an electrically non-conductive material. A slide valve (22) grips a safety rod (17) in the guide (13). The safety rod (17) is situated adjacent the breech mechanism (6) only such that the firing pin (12) borders on the percussion cap (29) of the cartridge (11). By an open breech mechanism (6) the safety rod (17), under spring tension, is moved in the direction of the cartridge (11) together with the firing pin (12).
Abstract: A pair of binoculars including a mechanism for adjusting the optical distance between objective lenses and ocular lenses so as to set the focus to the user's visual acuity. The visual acuity compensating mechanism is incorporated into the ocular lens side or the objective lens side. The pair of binoculars may be corrected to the focus meeting the user's visual acuity when the user begins use of the binocular.
Abstract: A web cutting position control system capable of cutting a web having a print pattern thereon in such a manner as to match the print pattern without limiting the mounting position of a synchronizing mark detecting means for detecting synchronizing marks on the web is disclosed. A counter for counting the rotational pulses, for example, of a cutting cylinder for cutting the web is provided so as to compare the pulse count at the time of synchronizing mark detection with the reference value representing a value at the moment when the web and the cutting cylinder are in normal relative positions, and to control the relative positions of the web and the cutting cylinder to the normal relative positions by controlling the movement of a compensating roller until the two values become equal to each other.
Abstract: An improvement is obtained in the valve body construction of a check valve which is insertable into the interior of a flexible hose, which valve body comprises a valve body portion having one of an inlet port and an outlet port, and a valve end piece having the other of the inlet and outlet ports, wherein the valve end piece is formed with annular grooves extending in the circumferential direction thereof along the opposite sides across a joint surface between the valve body portion and the valve end piece. With this advantageous construction, there will be no burrs extending outwardly from the joint surface when assembled by welding the mating members.
Abstract: A vehicular back door fitting mechanism includes a plurality of hinges arranged along one rear pillar with hinge portions turnable with respect to the one rear pillar. A window glass is provided with a cut out at one lower corner thereof so that the uppermost hinge is located at the cut-out part of the window glass. This arrangement of the uppermost hinge permits a hinge span which is longer, resulting in a fitting strength of the back door being increased remarkably. The uppermost hinge is covered with a trim element and at least one other hinge is located below the uppermost hinge, arranged inside of the back door so that they cannot be seen from the outside. This arrangement provides an improved appearance.
Abstract: A thin film solar cell with an n-i-p structure has a roughened substrate surface, and, to achieve an improved fill factor, the substrate surface of the solar cell is a multiply concave surface and has no sharp points.

Abstract: A closed cycle gas mask and breathing equipment for operation under pressure includes a gas connector connectible to a tubular fitting of the mask with an inhalation line and an exhalation line which open into a joint connection to a mask. The connection has a device for preventing the escaping of gas from the mask by closing the connection when the connection is undone from the mask. The wearer can disconnect himself from the cycle or enter it without a considerable loss of gas. For this purpose the connector has a non-return valve which when disconnected blocks the breathing gas supply in the inhalation direction which is mounted in the opening of the connector and which is held open by an actuator or detector provided at the mask tubular fitting when the mask is connected.
Abstract: A device to automatically transfer pantyhose articles from a sewing machine to a conveyor for packed pantyhose articles includes a carriage 2 reciprocable on a horizontal track 10 extending from an unloading station of a sewing machine (LC) to a loading station of a conveyor (BG) for packed pantyhose articles. Grippers having flat horizontal tips, one being fixed, the other being vertically movable, hold an elastic band 40 of a pantyhose article when the bodice is fitted over the sewing forms 9 of the sewing machine. A stylus is associated with and extends parallel to the tips of the gripper 3 and is movable in a direction perpendicular thereto to rotate the bodice of the pantyhose. The gripper engages the pantyhose while it moves through approximately 90.degree. about its own horizontal axis in order to make the seams of the pantyhose coincide over the same vertical median plane. A rotator 6-9 acts to rotate the gripper 3 and the stylus 5 through approximately 90.degree.
