  • Patent number: 7146947
Abstract: An arrangement for adjusting the angle of rotation of a camshaft (5) relative to a crankshaft is provided. The arrangement requires many components, which partially also require different operational conditions. The new arrangement is structured in a modular fashion, so that the components of the arrangement are no longer arranged inside a common housing, but rather are separately constructed according to their function and/or operational conditions, for example, they are used jointly by other control or adjustment devices. It is particularly advantageous that such arrangements can be produced in a reduced size and in a more cost effective manner and can be used for adjusting the valve play of internal combustion engines.

  • Patent number: 7145894
Abstract: A user equipment which receives a CDMA communication signal that is wirelessly transmitted includes a system for correcting phase errors in an information signal which has been transmitted. The correction system comprises circuitry for generating a correction signal and for combining the correction signal with the information signal to produce a corrected information signal. An analyzer analyzes the phase of the corrected information signal and generates an error signal based on the deviation of the analyzed phase from a reference phase. A bandwidth controller recursively adjusts the phase of the corrected information signal such that the phase of said corrected information signal is substantially equal to said reference phase. The bandwidth controller selects a bandwidth within an adjustable range based on the error signal, estimates an offset based on the error signal, and modifies the correction signal using the offset.

  • Patent number: 7145893
Abstract: A communication station includes an antenna system having multiple antennas and delay units for receiving a transmitted signal and outputting a combined signal having a known distortion imparted by the antenna system. The combined signal is in turn processed by a modem, which compensates for the known distortion in a manner which provides improved signal gain. The improved signal gain permits a reduction in transmit power and, accordingly, increased capacity of the communication station. Where the antenna system is to be remotely located from related signal processing equipment, separate units for the RF receiver/transmitter and the other signal processing equipment are provided so that the RF receiver/transmitter may also be remotely located along with the antenna system.

  • Patent number: 7137671
Abstract: An element for the attachment of a spoke in a bicycle wheel at a seat hole has a body, an axial hole, and can engage a tool. The body is of greater transverse size than a seat hole, and abuts the seat hole at a first end of the body. The axial hole extends from the first end in the body and engages a spoke. The element engages a tool at a second end of the body opposite the first end. Finally, the maximum transverse size of said body is defined by side surface portions of said body other than the area of the second end that engages the tool.

  • Patent number: 7136656
Abstract: A method of fast dynamic channel allocation call admission control for radio link addition includes a pre-code allocation process, a signal-independent code allocation process, and a post-code allocation process. The pre-code allocation process receives and processes a request message, retrieves the new cell identification from the message, and retrieves the old cell identification and system information from a centralized database. The code allocation process checks the availability of a code set in the new cell, generates timeslot sequences for the available timeslots, and assigns a code set to the available timeslots in a timeslot sequence, wherein a successful assignment is a solution. The interference signal code power (ISCP) is calculated for each solution and the solution having the lowest weighted ISCP is selected as an optimal solution. The post-code allocation process stores the new radio link information in the database and creates a response message with new allocation information.

  • Patent number: 7136396
Abstract: A method and apparatus for compiling a protocol data unit (PDU) having a predetermined length from at least one data block for transmission in a wireless communication system. At least one data block is designated for transmission. The data block is first stored in a memory. A data block information list and a data block address list are generated for the data block. The data block information list contains the length of the data block which is to be included within the PDU and the data block address list contains the memory address of data block which is to be included in the PDU. The PDU is then compiled utilizing the data block information list and the data block address list when the PDU is ready for transmission.
