  • Patent number: 7127978
Abstract: A circular saw machine having a saw blade (1) that is movably held for back and forth motion during the sawing process. A forward and a rearward saw blade guide (4, 5) ensure the stability of the saw blade (1) while sawing. The saw blade guides (4, 5) respectively have contact surfaces (6), which abut on the respective side surfaces of the saw blade (1). In order to operate the circular saw machine with different saw blade diameters, the forward saw blade guide (5) is removable from, or pivotable away from, the saw blade (1), and the saw blade itself is interchangeable. The radial positioning of the contact surfaces (6) of the saw blade guides (4, 5) is variable. This can be accomplished by interchanging the whole saw blade guide (5), but also in particular by a mounting (12), pivotable with respect to the saw blade guide (4, 5) and to which the contact surface (6) is fixed.

  • Patent number: 7126960
Abstract: A code division multiple access user equipment is used in receiving a plurality of data signals over a shared spectrum. Each received data signal experiences a similar channel response. A combined signal of the received data signals is received over the shared spectrum. The combined signal is sampled at a multiple of the chip rate. A channel response is estimated. A cross correlation matrix is determined using the estimated channel response. The spread data vector is determined using order recursions by determining a first spread data estimate using an element from the cross correlation matrix and recursively determining further estimates using additional elements of the cross correlation matrix. Data of the data signals is estimated using the spread data vector.

  • Patent number: 7126922
Abstract: A method for implementing dynamic link adaptation in a cellular system by a user equipment (UE) having two coded composite transport channels (CCTrCHs) in an uplink time slot begins by estimating transmit power using a transport format combination (TFC) pair for the CCTrCHs. The total estimated transmit power for the two CCTrCHs is compared with a given threshold. Use of both TFCs is permitted when the total estimated power is less than the threshold.

  • Patent number: 7127274
Abstract: In wireless communications, a method and system for enhancing signal decoding capability in null areas uses dithering to break up or modify the null areas. The null areas form in overlapping regions of the beams of two antennas or in overlapping regions of a single signal that is subject to multipath. Dithering is used to spread the null areas over a wider region so that a WTRU in an overlap region will not statically remain within a null area.

A combined signal of the received data signals is received over the shared spectrum. The combined signal is sampled at a multiple of the chip rate. A channel response is estimated. A cross correlation matrix is determined using the estimated channel response. A subblock of the cross correlation matrix is selected. A Cholesky factor for the subblock is determined. • Patent number: 7127256
Abstract: A wireless digital communication method for a plurality of user equipment mobile terminals (UEs) to communicate with a base station. Adaptive modulation and coding (AM&C) is used to achieve improved radio resource utilization and provide optimum data rates for user services. Blocks of downlink (DL) data are received by the base station which requests downlink DL channel quality measurements only from those mobile terminals (UEs) with pending downlink transmissions. The UEs respond to the request by measuring and reporting DL channel quality to the base station, which then allocates resources such that the UEs will make best use of radio resources. The base station notifies the UEs of the physical channel allocation indicating the modulation/coding rate and allocated slots followed by transmission of blocks of downlink data which are transmitted to the UEs.

  • Patent number: 7127014
Abstract: A receiver which suppresses inter-cluster multipath interference by processing an impulse channel response consisting of two multipath clusters, each cluster having groups of signals with multiple delays. In one embodiment, the receiver includes a single antenna and parallel-connected delay units used to align the groups of signals before being input into respective sliding window equalizers. The outputs of the equalizers are combined at chip level via a combiner which provides a single output. In another embodiment, a cluster multipath interference suppression (CMIS) circuit is incorporated into the receiver. The CMIS circuit includes a hard decision unit and a plurality of signal regeneration units to generate replicas of the multipath clusters. The replicas are subtracted from the respective outputs of the delay units and the results are input to the respective sliding window equalizers. In another embodiment, multiple antennas are used to receive and process the clusters.

  • Patent number: 7126933
Abstract: A code division multiple access user equipment is used in receiving a plurality of data signals over a shared spectrum. Each received data signal experiences a similar channel response. A combined signal of the received data signals is received over the shared spectrum. The combined signal is sampled at a multiple of the chip rate. A channel response is estimated as a channel response matrix at the multiple of the chip rate. A padded version of a spread data vector of a size corresponding to the multiple chip rate using a column of the channel response matrix, the estimated channel response matrix, the samples and a fourier transform. The spread data vector is estimated by eliminating elements of the padded version so that the estimated spread data vector is of a size corresponding to the chip rate.

  • Patent number: 7123600
Abstract: A code-division-multiple-access (CDMA) system employing spread-spectrum modulation. The CDMA system has a base station, and a plurality of subscriber units. The signals transmitted between the base station and subscriber unit use spread-spectrum modulation. The system and method transmits from the base station, a synchronization channel having a chip-sequence signal used by the plurality of subscriber units for synchronization. A first subscriber unit receives the synchronization channel, and determines timing from the synchronization channel. In order to initiate communications with the base station, the first subscriber unit transmits an access signal. The access signal has a plurality of power levels, which typically ramp up. The base station receives the access signal at a particular-power level. The base station then transmits to the first subscriber unit an acknowledgment signal. The first subscriber unit receives the acknowledgment signal, and transmits to the base station, a spread-spectrum signal.

  • Patent number: 7124350
Abstract: A wireless communication method and system for detecting and correcting transmission errors. The system includes at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) in communication with a Node B. The Node B sends a transmission signal (e.g., containing a protocol data unit (PDU)) to the WTRU. The WTRU generates a revert message having a first field and a second field to indicate whether the transmission signal was successfully received at the WTRU. The WTRU inserts a negative acknowledgement (NACK) message or positive acknowledgement (ACK) message into the first field and inserts a respective channel quality identifier (CQI) value corresponding to a worst or best possible value of CQI into the second field. The WTRU transmits the revert message to the Node B which compares the contents of the first and second fields. The Node B resends the transmission signal to the WTRU if the contents of the first and second fields are not logically consistent.

  • Patent number: 7123924
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for estimating the position and velocity of mobile wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) in a wireless communication system. Network stations use directional communication beams to divide service areas into sectors to provide communication services to the WTRUs. A WTRU saves pertinent information such as sector ID, received power and time of reception of the several received signals. The collected information is sent to the network, where it is used to estimate the WTRU's position, speed and direction of travel, which information can then be used to improve radio resource management.
