Abstract: An anti-glare rearview mirror assembly and a reflectance control method thereof are disclosed. The assembly includes an electrochromic rearview mirrors, two rearward light sensors, and a comparative controller. The sensors receiving a first rearward light from a first specified region and a second rearward light from a second specified region at the same time point, respectively, wherein the first and second specified regions partially overlap with each other. The intensities of the first and second rearview mirror light are compared to obtain a light difference. The reflectance of the anti-glare rearview mirror is adjusted according to the light difference.

Abstract: Data of a transport block set is to be transmitted in a wireless communication system. The wireless communication system uses adaptive modulation and coding and has a physical layer hybrid automatic repeat request mechanism. Segmentation information for potential segmentation of the transport block set is provided. The transport block set is transmitted with a first specified modulation and coding scheme. The transport bock set is received and whether the received transport block set is determined to meet a specified quality. When the specified quality is not met, a repeat request is transmitted. The first specified modulation and coding set is changed to a second specified modulation and coding set. In response to the repeat request, the transmit block set is segmented into a plurality of segments supported by the second specified modulation and coding set in accordance with the provided segmentation information. The segments are transmitted and at least two of the segments are transmitted separately.

Abstract: A method for recovering fuel substance and providing an alternative periodic cover material for landfills by separating materials in a salvage operation. A non-sorted material stream including metallic and non-metallic components, which preferably includes automobile scrap, is fed to a shredder. After shredding, the non-sorted material stream is separated. The non-sorted material stream is first separated into two streams, namely, a heavy material stream and a light material stream. The heavy material stream is conveyed to a magnetic separator where ferrous metals are separated from non-ferrous materials. The light material stream is passed under a cross belt magnetic separator where the light ferrous metals are separated. The remaining light material stream is further separated to remove non-ferrous metal material. The remaining non-metallic material can be used as a fuel substance or as a cover material for landfills.

Abstract: A sequence of codes are provided for potential assignment to a user in a wireless hybrid time division multiple access (TDMA)/code division multiple access (CDMA) communication system. At least one timeslot is selected to support the communication. For each selected timeslot, at least one code is selected. If more than one code is selected, the selected codes are consecutive in the provided codes sequence. For at least one of the selected timeslots, an identifier of a first and last code of the selected consecutive codes is signaled. The user receives the signaled identifier and uses the selected consecutive codes, as identified, to support the communication.

Abstract: An engaging device for use in a user interface device is provided. The engaging device for use in a user interface device, wherein the user interface includes a main body having a body panel disposed therein, and a case having a panel with a recess therein, the engaging device includes a plurality of engaging elements disposed on the main body for engaging the main body in the recess of the case panel through an engagement between the case panel and the engaging elements, wherein one end of the engaging elements is connected to the main body, the other end thereof is a free end, and the middle portion thereof is bent and protruded for being away from the main body.
Abstract: The present invention is a tape library comprising both a small front-end portion and a larger back-end portion. The front-end portion is a visible virtual or physical tape library; and the back-end portion is a large invisible virtual or physical tape vault. The DPA is a typical DPA which only sees the front-end library. If desired, all messages regarding the importing and exporting of tapes are reviewed by an agent. The agent manages the automatic transfer of tapes between the front-end and the back-end, and notifies the user when a manual import or export is needed. This greatly reduces both the amount of hardware required to establish a virtual or physical tape library and also reduces the amount of labor required by a user to physically import and export tapes. If both the front-end library and, the back-end vault are virtual and reside on the same virtual tape library appliance, no data movement is necessary and the tapes can be moved merely by performing small software state changes.

Abstract: A method and system is disclosed wherein timeslots designated in a wireless communication system as Common Physical Channel (CPCH) timeslots may be reused for user traffic. A CPCH timeslot used in a first cell may be reused by a second cell, assuming the first and second cells transmit control information in different CPCH timeslots, for user traffic. The second cell is permitted to reuse the timeslot in which the first cell is transmitting control information so long as the second cell's reuse of that timeslot does not degrade reception of control information in the first cell.
Abstract: A procedure is provided wherein a serving general packet radio service (GPRS) support node (SGSN) enables a mobile station to access point name (APN) to which the mobile station is not subscribed wherein the SGSN makes a determination if the requested packet data protocol and APN received from the mobile station are the same as those to which the mobile station is subscribed. In the event that the mobile station is not subscribed to the PDP type and requested APN, the SGSN informs the mobile that APN requested is not authorized and if the mobile station desires to continue it must agree to the terms and conditions and to provide credit (or debit) card information in order to obtain the requested APN.
Abstract: A biased bending vertical alignment mode liquid crystal display is provided. The liquid crystal display includes a first substrate having a first electrode, a second substrate having a second electrode and a third electrodes, a plurality of first slits formed on the second electrode over the third electrodes, a plurality of second slits formed on the second electrode without covering the third electrodes, wherein the plurality of first slits and the plurality of second slits divide the second electrode into a plurality of fragmented electrode portions, and the plurality of first slits are alternate with the plurality of second slits, and a liquid crystal layer having a plurality of liquid crystal molecules and interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate.
Abstract: The present invention achieves power savings by turning off all or some of the baseband processing for codes and timeslots that have not been transmitted due to full or partial DTX. With respect to partial DTX, the transmitted codes and associated timeslots and radio frames within the shortest TTI in the CCTrCH are determined from the received TFCI. Thereafter, the receiver is turned off for the unused codes as indicated by the received TFCI. With respect to full DTX, following TFCI reception, the receiver is turned off for all timeslots within the shortest TTI.

Abstract: A method for adjusting the operating parameters of a wireless device for use in a wireless communication network begins by entering and storing situation settings. When a communication is received at the network for the wireless device, the presence of the wireless device is determined. The situation settings are applied based upon the presence of the wireless device. The wireless device is informed of the communication via the applied situation settings.

Abstract: A method for operating a user equipment employing a CDMA technique comprises combining a plurality of spread spectrum data signals into a combined signal having a fluctuating power level corresponding to the data signals; modulating the combined signal to produce an RF signal; measuring average power of the combined signal over a selected time period; adaptively limiting the combined signal power to a calculated level based at least in part on the measured power; and transmitting the RF signal.
Abstract: A UE transmitter in a 3G UTRAN wireless communication system performs dynamic link adaptation (DLA) with dynamic semi-static parameters for overcoming RF propagation difficulties. Separate transport channels (DCH) are defined for each semi-static parameter, including forward error coding (FEC) coding type and rate. When data rate is decreased during DLA, a TFC is selected having the desired FEC coding type and rate. Since this adjustment occurs at each TTI, mapping of data packet codes in each timeslot on the physical channel includes the benefit of FEC rather than reduced data rate alone. This permits improved SIR in a timeslot that may be experiencing RF propagation difficulties during the UL mapping process.

Abstract: A camera having a lens barrier movable between an open and a closed position, a lens movable between a photographing position and a non-photographing position and a locking member which, when driven by movement of the lens barrel to the photography position, enters into an opening in the barrier if an attempt is made to move the barrier from the open position towards the closed position. A pressing spring returns the locking member to the withdrawn position when the lens barrel is moved to the non-photographing position. An elastic pressing plate is preferably used to drive the locking member to the projected position against the force of the pressing spring when the lens is moved towards the photographing position.
