Abstract: The atomizer wheel is provided along the circumference of its external wall (3) with a number of ejection apertures, in which wear-resistant ceramic linings (7) are arranged by means of replaceable steel bushings (8). The steel bushings (8) and/or the linings (7) project somewhat into the annular chamber of the atomizer wheel and the bushings are sealed against the external wall (3) with sealing rings (11). Moreover, each bushing (8) is provided in its inner surface facing the associate lining (7) with a flat recess (13) extending on either side of the inner surface of the external wall (3). Thereby, the steel bushings (8) may be resiliently deformed without transferring excessive stresses to the linings (7).

Abstract: In connection with a feeding conveyor for feeding articles laterally onto a sorter conveyor is mounted a retractable V-shaped stop for the articles as conveyed on the feeding conveyor, whereby these articles are temporarily stopped and concurrently centered towards the top point of the V-stop. Hereby it is achieved that the remaining article transfer distance is well defined such that the transfer of the article to the sorter conveyor, upon retraction of the V-stop, may take place in a well defined manner. When the respective edges or sides of the V-stop are orientated parallelly with and orthogonally to the moving direction of the sorter conveyor, it is achieved, additionally, that a rectangular article as fed to the feeding conveyor with any arbitrary orientation, will be orientated so as to take up a minimum space on the sorter conveyor, whereby the capacity of the latter may kept at a maximum.
Abstract: An asymmetric lamp with an improved reflector assembly is disclosed. The lamp includes a head, a socket for receiving a light bulb, and a front reflector. The socket and the front reflector are mounted in the head. When the light bulb is inserted into the socket, the light bulb defines a transverse axis. The front reflector has a longitudinal cross-sectional shape that is either generally hyperbolic, generally parabolic, or generally elliptic. The front reflector is formed from a plurality of triangular facets. Adjacent facets define a line that is nonparallel to the transverse axis defined by the light bulb. The front reflector is mounted in the head so that the rear edge of the front reflector is positioned proximate the top of the light bulb. The lamp may include a back reflector, preferably made from a nonconductive material. The back reflector is positioned proximate the rear edge of the front reflector.
Abstract: In a vapor burner for liquid fuel there is an electrically heatable gasifying chamber (1), a passage system (K) concentric therewith for supplying air of combustion, and a burner tube (26) which surrounds a combustion chamber (25) and is bounded at the rear by an annular closure wall (22). The gasifying chamber (1) is formed substantially by a central gasifying tube (2). Guide means (19) serve to produce an external annular eddy (31) of combustion gases that extends along the inside (33) of the burner tube (26) rearwardly at least over a section disposed axially in front of the mouth (23) of the passage system (K). An ionisation measuring electrode (35) placed in the backward flow permits the flame to be accurately detected independently of the flame front which changes with a change in the burner output. When the burner tube (26) glows, there is automatic re-ignition if the flame blows off.

Abstract: The invention relates to a mass flow meter operable on the Coriolis principle having two rectilinear juxtaposed parallel arranged measuring tubes mechanically interconnected at their ends. An oscillator between the tubes produces opposite oscillatory movement of the tubes with a harmonic oscillation superimposed on the fundamental oscillation. Sensors between the tubes on opposite sides of the oscillator sense relative movement between the tubes and generate signals corresponding thereto. A circuit responsive to these signals determines resonant frequencies of the fundamental and harmonic oscillations and derives therefrom a correcting value which gives effect to axial stresses in the measuring tubes to determine a corrected mass flow.
Abstract: A grinding machine for the grinding or rasping of rubber items having a conveyor belt (1) which feeds the rubber items in under a grinding cylinder (3). Under the conveyor belt (1) in the area under the grinding cylinder (3), at a distance from and freely moveable--within determined limits--there is mounted a support surface (14) which seeks to press the surface (14) in the direction towards the grinding cylinder (3). The support can be, for example, of one or more bellows cylinders (13) which provide central support for the surface (14). The pressure in the bellows cylinder is formed by compressed air from a compressed-air pipe (23) with a substantially constant pressure. Under the conveyor belt a pivotably mounted (7) guide plate (6) is provided, the one side of which is linked to the support surface (14) via a hemispherical surface (12), which, via a strap or an angle piece (9), is secured to the support surface (14).

Abstract: A movable spike, variable entrance geometry annular pipe-type diffuser has, for prevention and suppression of flow-induced vibrations, a gear assembly for imparting rotational motion about the axis of a rod member supporting the spike in the diffuser channel, and damper guides fixed to the spike and cooperating with guide slots in the diffuser housing for opposing the rotational motion to create a biasing torque between the spike and housing to increase rigidity and damping.
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for replacing pattern plates in a moulding plant for making boxless mould parts of sand or other like material is characterized by the use of a revolving table (1), which is provided with e.g. four symmetrically placed arms (1), in which are suspended pattern plates (2,3). The revolving table is designed for sequential conveying of the pattern plates (2,3) for placing these on a squeeze plate (PP) and a counter-pressure plate (MTP), respectively, in the moulding chamber of a moulding plant (suggested only on the drawing). The pattern plates (2,3) are placed in the respective arms (1) when the latter are just opposite the changing position. From the changing position, the pattern plates (2,3) are conveyed into a moulding chamber by a transverse sliding movement in an essentially known manner.
Abstract: For exact positioning of a magnetic head to various tracks of a magnetic tape by use of a stepping motor, a plurality of motor control steps required in order to position the magnetic head to the various tracks proceeding from a reference position are identified. For the compensation of manufacturing tolerances, individual positional values are identified for every magnetic tape recorder. These positional values indicate a precise position of the magnetic head on the center of the respective track. The positional values are stored in a read-only memory, or are formed by addition of stored standard values and correction values stored in a read-only memory.
Abstract: A ski pole basket (1) is described which is attached rigidly to a ski pole. The basket comprises an outwardly extending support surface (3) and is provided with a peak socket (4) directed downwards. By the peak socket being attached to the basket in front of the point where the basket is attached to the pole there is achieved an improved grip into the ground and an improved pendulum effect in the cycle of pole motion.

Abstract: In a fresh air valve device having a throttle valve member (2) controlled by a humidity sensitive member (10), the control may be interrupted by means of a manual adjusting device (17) for compulsory opening and compulsory closing of the valve member.
Abstract: In a system for controlling the motion of a magnetic head in a magnetic tape recorder, in order to achieve an optimally uniform wear of the magnetic head at a side thereof facing the magnetic tape, the magnetic head is constantly moved back and forth during a movement of the magnetic tape during at least one of the modes fast forward and rewind. In magnetic tape recorders wherein the magnetic head is positionable to various tracks of the magnetic tape transversely relative to the moving direction of the magnetic tape, wear on the head can occur at least partially during fast fast forward and rewinding modes. By moving the head during fast forward or rewind, the magnetic head is less heavily worn and the edges of the magnetic tape are not damaged by undesirable depressions in the head.
Abstract: Generating a low alcohol content wine by oxidizing the glucose content in unfermented grape juice to gluconic acid through treatment of the juice with glucose oxidase in the presence of oxygen followed by fermentation. The process may be carried out to adjust the acidity of the wine, in which only a small proportion of the glucose is oxidized.
Abstract: A glue is disclosed which comprises a solution of at least one water-insoluble synthetic organic polymer, such as PVC or ABS, in a solvent which essentially consists of one or several compounds selected from the group consisting of 5- or 6-membered water-miscible lactones or lactams having a melting point of at the most -10.degree. C., a boiling point of at least 200.degree. C. and a flash point of at least 90.degree. C., such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone or .gamma.-butyrolactone. The polymer or polymers may be present in a concentration of between 0.5 and 50% by weight, in particular about 10% by weight. The glue may be used at tropical temperatures without problems arising from solvent vapours and without fire risks.
