Abstract: A system and method for allocating processes to a plurality of resources analyses an available resource capacity for a plurality of resources, generates resource assignment sets and corresponding schedule parameters, and generates a control parameter for each resource assignment set. The control parameter is based on corresponding weighting parameters and corresponding schedule parameters. One of the resource assignment sets is selected and used to allocate tasks to the resources based on a selection criterion for the control parameter.

Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) application comparator helps application designers create error free graphical user interface applications (GAPs). The comparator finds differences in the GUI elements used to compose an interface between a current GAP version and a subsequent GAP version. One benefit is that a test script writer may better understand how the GAP has evolved in order to write a better test script. Another benefit is that the comparator output may be analyzed by subsequent processing systems for automated analysis of test scripts.

Abstract: A product assortment planning system determines scaled performance metric values for an assortment of products. The system includes a data store storing performance metric values for an assortment of products including a target assortment of products and a source assortment of products, an equivalization unit and a scaling unit. The equivalization unit equivalizes the performance metric values for the source assortment of products. The scaling unit determines incrementality assumptions. The incrementality assumptions are an estimation of an amount of cannibalization that occurs for the target assortment of products as a result of combining the source assortment of products with the target assortment of products. Scaled performance metric values are calculated for each product in the assortment of products based on the equivalized performance metric values and the incrementality assumptions.

Abstract: Enhanced delivery of services are provided through a wireless mobile device and one or more location service channels, preferably at the direction of the user of the mobile device requesting the desired service through common context-based user interfaces. The mobile device communicates with local and remote service providers. The context is determined by accessing information in the user profile, by sensors on the mobile device identifying items of interest, or by identifying the location of the mobile device. An aggregator server maintains a registry of location service channels and manages the access to the channels by the mobile device users and the service providers.

Abstract: A Dynamically Reconfigurable Applications Mutable Architecture (DRAMA) greatly reduces time, cost, and other resource expenditures associated with customizing a legacy application so that application features can be activated, deactivated, and even altered without requiring the user to reprogram or reinstall the application. A software developer may use DRAMA to deliver DRAs that enable users to switch between configurations during run-time by specifying the application features the user needs. DRAMA provides a lightweight and efficient approach to rapidly build DRAs from legacy applications, verify the validity of a user requested combination of features, and reconfigures DRAs during run-time.

Abstract: A computing device configures virtual machines using configuration commands. Each of the virtual machines may boot from a corresponding virtual machine image file. As a virtual machine boots or executes, the virtual machine may read from or write to application and operating system files included in the corresponding virtual machine image file. Prior to the virtual machine booting, the computing device may get or set configuration properties of the operating system and applications to be booted in a respective virtual machine by reading from or writing to the application and operating system files included in the corresponding virtual machine image file. The computing device may execute configuration commands to get or set the configuration properties of the operating system and the applications.

Abstract: An insurance claim processing system may include an insurance claim database, an event processor component, a task engine component and a collaborative intelligent task processor. The insurance claim database may be configured to store and provide access to data in a data record that is related to an insurance claim. The event processor component may be executable with a computer to iteratively monitor the data in the data record and identify events. The task engine component may be executable with a computer in response to one of the identified events to generate tasks indicative of information that needs to be acquired based on the contents of the data record. The collaborative intelligent task processor may be executable with a computer to analyze a task generated by the task engine component and select an action plan that is responsive to the task.

Abstract: Apparatuses, computer media, and methods for altering a camera image, in which the source image may be angularly displaced from a camera image. A plurality of points on the camera image is located and a mesh is generated. Compensation information based on the displacement is determined, and a reshaped image is rendered from the mesh, the compensation information, and the camera image. The camera image is reshaped by relocating a proper subset of the points on the camera image. Deformation vectors are applied to corresponding points on the mesh using the compensation information. A correction factor is obtained from an angular displacement and a translation displacement of the source image from the camera image. The deformation factor is multiplied by the compensation factor to form a deformation vector to compensate for angular and translational displacements of the source image from the camera image.

Abstract: The Agent Communication Toolbox (ACT) eliminates the burdens to call center managers of manually distributing desk drops and following up with call center agents to determine whether the agents have accessed the desk drops and completed related training. ACT provides distributed communications to the desktop of a call center agent. ACT records access, testing and training by call center agents and produces reports that indicate the understanding and content comprehension of call center agents. ACT provides real-time coaching to call center agents to improve call center agent knowledge, increase first call resolution and the quality of responses provided by the call center agent. ACT also intelligently routes communications based on the location and skills of the call center agent, reducing the volume of communications and network bandwidth requirements.

Abstract: A decision management system simulates a smart grid communications network service deployment using business and technology changeable parameters, models describing traffic profiles for smart grid domain devices and smart grid applications, smart grid infrastructure and a cost model. Candidate solutions for deploying the smart grid service are determined for different sets of changeable parameters through the simulations. These solutions are analyzed to identify a solution for deploying the smart grid service.

Abstract: A system for optimizing incentive-based spending parameters associated with goods provided by a manufacturer in fragmented markets includes a data collection component configured to aggregate data, and an analysis module, which applies regression analysis based on key segmentation variables. A segmentation module separates the aggregated data into final segments based on identified key segmentation variables. The analysis module applies regression analysis to each final segment to identify incentive-based spending parameters and generates response curves. A report generator provides a graphical output of the respective response curves.

Abstract: Keyword frequency data for a plurality of document-derived segments is represented in a matrix form in which each segment is represented as a vector of dimensionality equal to the number of keywords. The matrix may be subdivided into a plurality of sub-matrices, each preferably corresponding to a non-overlapping portion of the plurality of keywords. When determining a similarity measurement between any pair of segments, at least a portion of the keyword frequency data for each sub-matrix's non-overlapping keywords are used to determine a sub-matrix dot product for the pair of segments. The resulting plurality of sub-matrix dot products are then summed together in order to provide the similarity measurement. Keywords that are synonyms of each other may be accommodated through the modification of keyword frequency data. Where the keyword frequency data in the matrix representation is relative sparse, compressed views of the matrix representation may be provided.

The forecasting module determines quantifications for forecasting variables, and the forecasts are determined based on the forecasting variables. The optimization module determines factors estimated to have impacted the sales metrics, and the recommended actions based on the factors.

First content is provided by a controller to a first user device and, in response, the controller determines interaction by the user with the first content. More extensive user interaction history as well as device types may also be employed by the controller when determining the second content.

Abstract: A system and method are configured to perform eco score analytics for an energy program associated with potential targets. A factor profile initiator determines categories and subcategories of parameters to be included in a model for the energy program based on attributes of the energy program. The model is built and used to determine eco scores for the potential targets. The eco scores estimate propensity of the potential target to participate in the energy program. A campaign engine determines ranking of the scores and a subset of the potential targets are selected as targets for the energy program based on the rankings.

The first sensor is configured to generate a first set of synchrophasor data. The second sensor is configured to generate a second set of synchrophasor data. The monitoring system includes a processor configured to receive the first and second sets of synchrophasor data. The processor is further configured to determine a primary side voltage of at least one distribution transformer electrically connected to the phase conductor line based on a secondary side voltage of the at least one distribution transformer. The processor is further configured to determine at least one phase conductor line condition based on the first and second sets of synchrophasor data and the primary side voltage.
