Abstract: A suction device is movable between a receiving position in which it removes a sheet of film from a magazine and a delivery position in which it transfers the sheet to a conveyor. The effective width of the suction device approximates or equals the width of the smallest sheet of film to be transferred. Sheets having a width greater than the smallest width are gripped in the region of one end thereof leaving the remainder of such a sheet free to deflect. In order to permit proper transfer of all sheets into the conveyor, the latter is provided with grooved rollers which lift the deflected portions of larger sheets into the conveyor. In the delivery position, the suction device is located opposite one portion of the conveyor. The conveying force exerted by this portion of the conveyor is smaller than the gripping force which the suction device exerts on a sheet but larger than the conveying force exerted by a laterally adjacent portion of the conveyor.

Abstract: Apparatus for expelling reels with convoluted exposed roll films from successive film cartridges has a gate which supports a cartridge at an opening station between an axially movable mandrel and an axially movable pusher. A holder with four or more equidistant idler wheels having sharp edges is adjacent to one end of the shell of the cartridge which is located between the mandrel and the pusher to hold the shell against axial movement with the pusher when the latter is shifted axially toward the mandrel to bear upon the core of the reel in the cartridge and to expel the reel as well as one end wall of the cartridge from the shell while the mandrel transmits or is ready to transmit torque to the core in a direction to wind the film onto the core. The idler rollers are thereupon disengaged from the shell and the gate is retracted so that the shell can leave the opening station by gravity before the next cartridge enters the opening station by gravity feed.

Abstract: Yellow Couplers of the formula ##STR1## wherein Y represents an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical;X represents hydrogen or a separable group;R.sup.1 represents an alkyl radical having from 12 to 20 carbon atoms; andR.sup.2 represents an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, can be well dissolved in oil formers and also couple in the absence of benzyl alcohol with a high color yield. They are stable against heat and moisture and give rise to stable yellow dyes in color development.
Abstract: A light-tight cassette for photographic material, which has the form of a box (11) having wall portions (26,27) defining an exit slot (15) for material drawn from a roll (19). The exit slot has light-sealing means which is formed by cooperating flexible (31,32) lips, and generally rigid ribs (36,37) which limit the deflection of the lips. The box and the flexible lips are preferably made by the co-extrusion of suitable plastics. The cassette has the advantage that a satisfactory light-tightness of the dispenser slot can be obtained with very flexible lips, so that damage to the film by frictional contact with the lips is avoided while an effective light seal is assured for all paths of the material through the slot.
Abstract: A sheet imaging apparatus with a collector tray for receiving sheets discharged from the apparatus. The collecting tray has two stationary side-walls and a sheet-supporting back plate is driven in a reciprocating motion in a transverse direction, whereby two part-stacks of sheets may be produced that are individually accurately aligned by abutment against cooperating fixed abutments.
Abstract: Apparatus for producing photographs from an image screen of a monitor, said apparatus consisting of a slidable sheet film platform, a means for sliding said sheet film platform in a Z coordinate direction, means for moving the image screen perpendicular to the Z direction in both X and Y coordinate directions, and a lens situated between said image screen and said film platform for providing a focused image on the sheet film, said lens being connected to said image screen so that the two can be moved together in the X direction, but are still capable of independent movement in the Y direction.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for transferring an electrostatically deposited electrophoretic toner image including the step of transferring image-wise deposited toner particles dispersed in a stratum of carrier liquid having a volume resistivity of at least 10.sup.9 ohm.cm and a dielectric constant less than 3 from an electrically insulating surface onto a receptor element by contacting said liquid stratum while carried on the insulating surface with a surface of the receptor element while applying an electric field such that the receptor element has a polarity opposite to the polarity of the toner particles to effect such transfer, characterized in that before the image-wise liquid stratum touches the receptor element the carrier liquid stratum is given a corona-charge treatment by a corona-charge unit whereby said liquid stratum is charged to a polarity opposite to the charge of the toner particles.
Abstract: Toner dispensing control in xerographic printing, wherein a toner dispenser is controlled during a first period of use by means measuring the exposing radiation applied to the photoconductor, and during a further period of use by means responsive to the relative permeability of the toner mixture. Thus, over-tonering during the running-in period of a new toner mixture is avoided.

Abstract: An image to be printed in a CRT or video color printer is sensed to generate red, blue and green signals respectively representing a characteristic of the image in red, blue and green. The signals are processed in a matrix circuit to generate a luminance signal. The red and blue signals are subtracted from the luminance signal in operational amplifiers to obtain unadjusted difference signals. Each of the unadjusted difference signals is multiplied by an adjusting factor which is established using variable resistors and functions to provide level adjustment. The adjusted difference signals obtained in this manner are subtracted from the luminnce signal in respective operational amplifiers to yield modified red and blue signals. The modified red and blue signals are processed together with the luminanace signal in a second matrix circuit to generate a modified green signal.
