Abstract: When a trigger lever is depressed, both a focus adjuster ring and a control disk commence to rotate in unison, driven by a spring mechanism. Position-sensing switches receive signals indicating which subject-distance setting the focus adjuster ring should be arrested at, and furthermore are opened and closed by the control disk during movement of the latter. When the focus adjuster ring reaches the required subject distance setting, it is arrested and kept arrested, thereby completing an automatic focussing operation, but the control disk continues to turn on to its end position, at which it causes the shutter mechanism of the camera to open and furthermore the exposure-timing circuit of the camera to initiation a scene-light-dependent exposure-timing operation.

Abstract: An electric motor which can drive the objective of a slide projector or which can adjust the blade or blades of a diaphragm receives signals from the output of an operational amplifier which receives first and second signals from a photosensitive transducer and a differentiating capacitor. The (second) signals from the capacitor are modified (first) signals from the transducer, and the combined intensity of first and second signals is such that the signals at the output of the amplifier reach a value which they would normally reach only when the component has already assumed a predetermined position before the motor can complete the movement of the component to such position.
Abstract: A photographic material containing protein as binding agent is hardened with a compound which contains at least two free vinyl sulfonyl groups in the molecule and which is a bisulfite addition product of a compound containing up to 6 vinyl sulfonyl groups.

Abstract: A magnetic recording material, preferably for tape recorders which are designed for the iron oxide bias setting and for a playback equalization of 120 .mu.s, consisting of a support and at least two layers containing magnetic pigments and binders and differing in coercivity and layer thickness, the uppermost layer containing as acicular, magnetic pigment thermally stabilized magnetite containing from 0.1 to 5% by weight of Cd, Pb, Ca, Mg, Zn, Al, Cr, W, P and/or B based on Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4. The pigments have an average crystallite size of from 30 to 35 nm and a coercivity of from 28 to 36 KA/m. These double-layer tapes have a low bias level and a high dynamic range despite a playback equalization of 120 .mu.s.

Abstract: The process for the development of color photographic images with an aqueous alkaline color developer mixture comprising methyl-p-dialkylaminoaniline derivates. The process provides brilliant color photographic images avoiding coloration of the support and color fog even when processing at high temperatures.

Abstract: A microfiche reader and/or enlarger has a housing provided with an opening. The microfiches are stored in hard-cover files having a pair of covers between which a series of pockets is located, with the individual pockets being connected to one another and the two end pockets each being connected to one of the covers. When the covers are moved from parallel to coplanar position the pockets assume a fan-shaped outline; when the file is attached to the opening in this position with the pockets projecting into the housing, inner open ends of the pockets are accessible to a gripper on a pivot arm which can be moved opposite any selected one of the open ends. The gripper can then extract the microfiche from the selected pocket and subsequently reinsert it thereinto.
Abstract: A photographic copying machine wherein copying light which issues from a light source and is directed toward an original is caused to pass through a light intensity weakening shutter of the venetian blind type. The shutter is adjusted to change the rate of passage of light therethrough in dependency on the intensity of signals which are generated by the exposure control system of the copying machine and denote the anticipated exposure times in the red, green and blue colors. If the anticipated exposure times are too short, the intensity of copying light which impinges upon the copying material is reduced by a stepwise adjustment of the venetian blind type shutter. Inversely, the shutter is caused to permit the passage of more light if the signals which are generated by the exposure control system denote a relatively long exposure times in the three colors.

Abstract: A copying apparatus has imaging equipment provided along the upstream end of a transport path for a copying sheet through its housing, and a fuser assembly including a fuser casing and a fuser heater downstream of this imaging equipment along the path. The entire fuser assembly is pivotal about a horizontal pivot in the housing from an operative position with the heater facing downwardly toward the conveyor path to a servicing position with the fuser assembly completely outside the housing and the fuser heater facing upwardly for servicing.

Abstract: An original holding plate element for a reproduction device has a flexible body part with a lower surface facing toward an original, and a white paper layer which has an inner surface facing toward and connected with the lower surface of the body part, and an outer surface facing away of the same and lined with a pellucid synthetic plastic foil.
Abstract: A microfilm reading device in which a lens carrier is provided with two projecting lenses which are in axial parallel alignment with each other. Through actuating a handle which is disposed between the projecting lenses, the projecting lenses can be moved from a first position in which the lens is brought in alignment with a micrograph to be projected into a second position in which the lens is lifted while the other lens is brought in alignment with the micrograph.
Abstract: In high sensitivity color photographic recording materials the undesired color fog density is reduced by highly reactive DIR-compounds having an effective reaction velocity constant k.sub.eff of more than 20,000 [1 . mole.sup.-1 . sec.sup.-1 ] (measured at pH 10.2 by the method described hereinafter) in a concentration of from 10.sup.-5 to 10.sup.-3 mole per mole of silver halide, if contained in a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer or in a concentration of from 10.sup.-7 to 10.sup.-5 mole per gram of solids if contained in a silver-halide-free binder layer adjacent to a silver halide emulsion layer.
